I should have checked because after me and the 3 kids drove home, settled in, we opened the kids meals and to my surprise there were three tiny burnt chicken strips and a roll in eaCh box, no frIes. Before Pollo Tropical became a franchise, we remember how all their food selections where always fresh and delicious. Their chicken was always flavorful and moist and their sides were always perfect. Throughout the years Pollo Tropical has gone downhill. They lack consistency on their food flavor and their customer skills toward the public is just awful as their food. I was very excited that I found a location close to my home, and now I feel like all I did was waste my money. I went to this Pollo Tropical on 12/23/2017. It was a total disaster. I ordered a Chicken Sandwich & asked to make the chicken burnt & bread darkly toasted. I waited 15M & noticed the restaurant was dreadfully sloppy. Nearly all the tables were dirty & looked liked they needed to be wiped down. The place to fill your cup with soda had garbage thrown all around it & the fixings bar also needed a complete whip down. When I finally got my meal, the bread was not toasted at all & the chicken was soft & mushy. The worst part was I was the only customers there! I immediately asked for my $$ back or for all new sandwich. They fixed me a new sandwich that was a small improvement, but all I wanted was leave, so I ate my ill faded dinner & dashed out the door. I wanted to mention the next shift of worked were just sitting around the restaurant & looked extremely depressed. I understand the pay is minimal, they take the bus, & want to rest before shift, but it would be a better look to relax in the back. Seeing 5 worked sit at a customer table & look sad is a bad play.
