I'm very happy to leave this updated review. My previous three visits weren't so great and my last review was deservedly harsh, but today Pollo Tropical deserves a solid five star review! Finally after three years, I gave another chance, and they excelled. This is the Pollo Tropical experience that I wanted. It doesn't have to be perfect, but today everything was perfect! It was nothing like my past distant experiences and it's obvious they have worked hard to improve. I ordered a whole chicken with three sides and a chicken soup. Online ordering was easy, pricing was good, and there wasn't even a nag to add a tip. I would have added one but it was nice to not be nagged for a tip. I arrived about five minutes past the estimated pick up time, and my order was packed and ready. When I picked it up, the bag felt heavy. Awesome, great start so far. I get home, dish it out for wife and myself, and wow everything tasted wonderful. The chicken was cooked perfectly, all the sauces were included, the sides were all a good size, and somehow a couple extra sides were included, so technically my order was "messed up", but this was nice because I got to try other items for the first time. Very good. This was great to see such a dramatic improvement and it deserves my solid five stars. We'll definitely be back again. read more

My food was packaged with a visibly dirty, used glove. I returned to the store to address the issue, and the employees did not take my concern seriously and appeared to find it amusing. When the manager came over, the situation was handled poorly and I felt dismissed, as though I was being treated like the problem instead of the issue being acknowledged. Anyway, I got the trio (it says it's new). It came with churrasco steak (with chimichurri), roasted pork, 1/4 chicken, white rice & black beans with maduro (plantains) for $13.49 you can't beat that. And to me to be a fast food looking place it was good. The chimichurri was so good. The roast pork was my favorite. I also had some cheesy bites that were super good. Aside from forgetting my sauces, I had a really good experience ordering from this location! I've never had Pollo Tropical before so I was initially a little skeptical of vegan options at a restaurant focused on chicken. However, I was blown away by the Vegan Picadillo Wrap! It was stuffed with Beyond Meat®, beans, plantains, and white rice. So flavorful and so delicious! The French fries were also phenomenal! I will definitely be returning in the future! This morning, my husband bought two bowls of chicken soup to go from this location for me because I wasn't feeling well. Once he returned home with them, we realized there was only one tiny cube of chicken in one of the bowls and absolutely no chicken in the other bowl. You shouldn't advertise this dish in your menu as chicken soup if you are only going to serve bowls of mostly broth with a one or two pieces of yuca and plantain. read more

This is my first time at this location in this city. The ambiance is typical of Pollo Tropical. The service was decent, considering there were a lot of people there, and the food arrived hot. The thing I liked about the chicken was that it was very hot, but at the same time, it was very dry. I don't know why they cook the food to the point where it dries out, but it did have decent flavor. The parking is good, and I was able to get out quickly. It's not as good as some of the other restaurants, but it's a lot better than others. read more

Honestly, wasn't that bad but they did get my order wrong. I got the Tropichops Bowl with White rice, Black beans, and crispy chicken and Garlic Sauce but instead of getting crispy chicken i just got plain normal chicken. Since It was still edible I did not have a big issue with it. Food was lacking in flavor with the Garlic Sauce, the chicken did not really taste like anything, Same goes for the beans and rice is rice can't mess that up and they did that. Lemonade tasted great. The Ambiance is basic, Clean, Music playing, Bathrooms were alright. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place on Midnights since they lack a lot of the stuff I DID want on the menu, not sure If It is better in the morning / Afternoon but to finish this review. Had a pretty decent experience ordering online from home in Palm Beach County, picking up in Port St.Lucie. We received a last minute invitation to a family member's small birthday celebration in Port St.Lucie and needed to pick up some food to share. I scoped out Yelp's offerings and went with Pollo Tropical as it was on the way. However, a few things were problematic when I placed and picked up this order. Our food was ready when I stepped inside to pick up the order. I was greeted cheerily by the cashier who was with another customer. Someone else (the manager) approached me and asked me if I was there for pick up. Yes, I answered. She quickly found my order but the receipt stated that a Shrimp Family Meal was in the bag. I ordered The Special Grande Meal (no shrimp). The gentleman next to me who came into the store right me after had the same issue with his order as well. The manager fixed both our orders ASAP. I was also curious as to why when I ordered through Yelp the price for the meal was $23.99 plus tax. My receipt and Pollo's own website lists the same meal for $19.99 plus tax. Paypal billed me for the higher amount. $4 isn't going to make or break me but why the upcharge? Anyway, the food was fresh and hot and ready (except for the shrimp/chicken mix up) at the appointed time. We had more than enough to share yesterday and finish up today. So I have never had a bad meal at Pollo Tropical until this evening! I would never recommend the fried turkey dinner. As you can see from the picture, the turkey was leathery. We took the meals back as it was a drive through order and discovered this at home. The manager was wonderful and refunded our money. She stated she would never eat this either! I know it was just after Thanksgiving and we had no business ordering turkey but this was new and like I said, I have never had a bad meal and this was the first time they offered it on the menu. Food is and always has been great! Corporate customer service not so much. Their rewards program is the worst. If you want credit for your purchase make sure the cashier scans the code from your app or you will NEVER receive the credit. Have been trying for weeks to get credit for purchases--nearly $50 worth of purchases. Just gave up! Not worth hours of time to get the $5 reward. My most recent two experiences (and these are not out of the ordinary): Sunday: Order Tropichop with chicken, white rice, black beans and onions, with a side of plantains. They were out of chicken, onions, and plantains. But hey, 2 out of 5 ain't bad!
