Finally after three years, I gave another chance, and they excelled. This is the Pollo Tropical experience that I wanted. It doesn't have to be perfect, but today everything was perfect! It was nothing like my past distant experiences and it's obvious they have worked hard to improve. I ordered a whole chicken with three sides and a chicken soup. Online ordering was easy, pricing was good, and there wasn't even a nag to add a tip. I would have added one but it was nice to not be nagged for a tip. I arrived about five minutes past the estimated pick up time, and my order was packed and ready. When I picked it up, the bag felt heavy. Awesome, great start so far. I get home, dish it out for wife and myself, and wow everything tasted wonderful. The chicken was cooked perfectly, all the sauces were included, the sides were all a good size, and somehow a couple extra sides were included, so technically my order was "messed up", but this was nice because I got to try other items for the first time. My food was packaged with a visibly dirty, used glove. I returned to the store to address the issue, and the employees did not take my concern seriously and appeared to find it amusing. Aside from forgetting my sauces, I had a really good experience ordering from this location! I've never had Pollo Tropical before so I was initially a little skeptical of vegan options at a restaurant focused on chicken. However, I was blown away by the Vegan Picadillo Wrap! It was stuffed with Beyond Meat®, beans, plantains, and white rice. So flavorful and so delicious! The French fries were also phenomenal! I will definitely be returning in the future! Once he returned home with them, we realized there was only one tiny cube of chicken in one of the bowls and absolutely no chicken in the other bowl. This is my first time at this location in this city. The ambiance is typical of Pollo Tropical. The service was decent, considering there were a lot of people there, and the food arrived hot. The thing I liked about the chicken was that it was very hot, but at the same time, it was very dry. I don't know why they cook the food to the point where it dries out, but it did have decent flavor. The parking is good, and I was able to get out quickly. Honestly, wasn't that bad but they did get my order wrong. I got the Tropichops Bowl with White rice, Black beans, and crispy chicken and Garlic Sauce but instead of getting crispy chicken i just got plain normal chicken. Since It was still edible I did not have a big issue with it. Food was lacking in flavor with the Garlic Sauce, the chicken did not really taste like anything, Same goes for the beans and rice is rice can't mess that up and they did that. Lemonade tasted great. The Ambiance is basic, Clean, Music playing, Bathrooms were alright. Had a pretty decent experience ordering online from home in Palm Beach County, picking up in Port St.Lucie. We received a last minute invitation to a family member's small birthday celebration in Port St.Lucie and needed to pick up some food to share. I scoped out Yelp's offerings and went with Pollo Tropical as it was on the way. However, a few things were problematic when I placed and picked up this order. Our food was ready when I stepped inside to pick up the order. I was greeted cheerily by the cashier who was with another customer. Someone else (the manager) approached me and asked me if I was there for pick up. Yes, I answered. She quickly found my order but the receipt stated that a Shrimp Family Meal was in the bag. I ordered The Special Grande Meal (no shrimp). The gentleman next to me who came into the store right me after had the same issue with his order as well. The manager fixed both our orders ASAP. I was also curious as to why when I ordered through Yelp the price for the meal was $23.99 plus tax. My receipt and Pollo's own website lists the same meal for $19.99 plus tax. Paypal billed me for the higher amount. $4 isn't going to make or break me but why the upcharge? Anyway, the food was fresh and hot and ready (except for the shrimp/chicken mix up) at the appointed time. We had more than enough to share yesterday and finish up today. So I have never had a bad meal at Pollo Tropical until this evening! I would never recommend the fried turkey dinner. As you can see from the picture, the turkey was leathery. We took the meals back as it was a drive through order and discovered this at home. The manager was wonderful and refunded our money. She stated she would never eat this either! I know it was just after Thanksgiving and we had no business ordering turkey but this was new and like I said, I have never had a bad meal and this was the first time they offered it on the menu.
