I love this place for several reasons, but it's not a great Cuban restaurant overall. If you want Cuban pizza, tropical ice cream flavors, good service, comfortable in and out seating, and great Cuban coffee without spending much, go here. Stopped for dinner here on Friday night and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The restaurant was not too busy when I got there but there is a bit of a wait around 8pm. The service is quick, the server was very attentive! It can get loud inside so outside seating is recommended. For food we started with an order of croquetas de jamón, a cup of queso crema. For dinner we ordered their Ham Spaghetti, the churrasco with white rice and black beans, and also vaca frita de pollo with mashed potatoes which as a big portion! I wanted to try a " Cuban Pizza", my brother suggested this restaurant. We ordered Ham Croquettes and a Ham Individual pizza enough for dinner. I did not care too much for the croquettes. The pizza is fluffy, enough bread to fill one up. I liked it, but being a New Yorker is not my kind of pizza. For dessert a Pico Turquino- two scoops of whatever flavor surrounded a piece of pound cake(moist iwith syrup). Strawberry & Chocolate. Very friendly and attentive service. Great takeout with the 305 fam. Amazing Cuban food find in Kendall. It is hard to find good Cuban food back home so when in the 305 do not mind looking for some. The black beans and white rice were perfectly seasoned with right amount of saltiness and spice. The Fried Yuka fries were perfectly cooked without being greasy even though we did takeout with delivery. Perfect food for our hungry crew while catching up on some pro basketball finals. Well, this is a restaurant I did not choose. They offer classic Cuban dishes along with their "specialty", Cuban Pizza. They also offer spaghetti. We ordered Sangria to start. Now, I am not normally a Sangria person. I do not like sweet wines or really any other sangrias I have tried in the past. So, I figured I would not like this Sangria either. Well, I was wrong. This Sangria has a perfect blend of flavors and is not too sweet. I really enjoyed it and ordered another two glasses of it. It actually had alcohol and I felt a little buzz which was nice and surprising to me. The other highlight of this restaurant is the layout and decorations. We sat in a large booth and had a great view of the whole restaurant. It felt cozy and "almost" like being in a trattoria in Italy. Ok, onto the rest of my review. Our server started off nice. But then she disappeared. Why do they do this? I mean, she visited us twice at the very beginning, and that was it. She never even brought the check, someone else did. So we ordered a large pizza and the spaghetti to share. Sigh. I had forgotten to order my side salad. So, the second time the server came over I ordered it. Well, it came within about 5 minutes of us leaving. And this salad requires no effort to put together. It is shredded lettuce, unripened tomato and very little onion. The ranch dressing was good. This is the saddest salad I have ever eaten. I LOVE salads and really, I cannot remember a more lackluster one I have ever had. He ordered the pizza crispy. It came out actually soft. Now, I love a lot of sauce on my pizza and this one had a TON of cheese. It tasted ok. That is about all I can say. I ate two pieces. That was enough for me. The spaghetti was the same. Ok. It had some sort of cheese on it. I did not eat much of it. The sauce reminded me of some spaghetti I had in the 80's along the way. I don't plan on coming back here. read more

This used to be my parents and I'd favorite restaurant with the best cuban pizza but recently the service has been so bad. Last time we visited about 2 weeks ago, they brought us cold appetizers and when we let them know the garlic rolls were cold they snatched them back and heated them up which ended up burning the tops of the rolls. the girl who brought them back didn't even speak just dropped them off like she had an attitude and not once did they check on us and asked if the food was okay. Normally the manager will walk by and check in and while i did see him doing that to other tables he didn't to our table. it was such a bad experience overall. read more

The leg was overcooked and couldn't be cut. Either by overcooking or by overheating. But the worst part, it you like eating salt, this is your restaurant. The meal was so salty, I threw the whole thing away. No wonder the place was empty at 12:30pm on a Sunday. I will not be coming back, ever. It was my first time to try a Polo Norte. They have several locations that I have seen through my days. We came as a party of 11 to celebrate a birthday. Since we arrived right around opening it was quiet and they were able to accommodate us immediately. Once seated the service was good. My only complaint would be that the waitress made no effort to accommodate the English speakers at the table. Not sure if maybe she just didn't know English. On to the food and it was all very tasty. I ordered the beef soup and chicken vaca frita plate w/ white rice, black beans, and tostones. The soup was good, but I did not like that apparently rice and black beans is considered two separate sides. I have never been to a Cuban restaurant that charges it this way and it seemed kinda preposterous. I mean, white rice with no beans? Anyway, I loved the frozen lemonade, as well. Polo Norte offers a nice selection of bastidos/milk shakes and a nice sized menu with reasonable pricing I could definitely appreciate in this economy. Portion sizes were good so you got your money's worth. Plates ran between $14-$18 on average. Overall I enjoyed my food, the ambiance, and my experience and I will come again :) read more

I usually order polo norte on Postmates and usually it's been really bad . My mom gets the vaca frita and sometimes the pulled pork and they keep forgetting to add the boniatos to the order. And the club sandwich comes with lettuce and tomato and it didn't come included and very little mayo basically ham and cheese and that's it .
