My American husband asked for a churrasco but was highly disappointed with the way it was cooked and it's chewy texture. I ordered a crema virginia, a personal pizza and a chocolate shake. They brought me a different crema, the pizza was NOT what I expected and the shake tasted like milk with some nesquick powder mix (I was expecting something like melted ice cream). Fast forward several deliveries and dinners later and my rating of 4 stars. My family likes the place and the food has been better compared to my first visit. The vaca frita is good but make sure you ask them not to over cook (it's been burnt a couple of times). My grandma had yuca frita once and really enjoyed them. The two dishes were also really, really tasty. I definitely paid for what I thought would be maybe like, food for two people and a little bit of leftovers. We ate like, three meals each from each container, damn. This place makes me glad I bought Ring Fit Adventure, because I really, really needed to exercise all of that food off. The worst food.. i ordered crema Virginia which is a cheese creamy soup with ham, it had no taste, I had to put a lot of salt to give it some taste. The spaghetti was brought cold and all sticky with the cheese and sauce on the side (I only asked for the sauce on the side), the sauce was refrigerator cold, I had to ask the waitress to warm it up and it was brought back cool. When I put the cheese on the spaghetti it obviously didn't melt. Needless to say I didn't eat it. The pizza dough was not crispy at all. Do not recommend at all! Marakas pizza is soooo much better! Being born and raised in Miami you would think I would have this incredible passion for Cuban food. Well, I don't. I don't dislike it but I've never had a great liking to it. The Vaca Frita was really good- it even has that semi-soft, semi-crunchy with that lime taste ufff so good! The Morro and Maduros were good as well and with $9.49 you can feed 2 people which is always nice. I had the Miami Sandwich and they don't come with fries but that was okay with me. We decided to try their desserts and went with something we had never tried: Canoa India. It was....decent. Their Rum Raisin tasted different than the usual Rum Raisin I've had so I'm going to say i wasn't a fan because I wasn't used to it but their Chocolate Brownie ice cream was pretty darn good! Had a great experience at Polo Norte! Arrived a little before 10pm and they were more than welcoming (they close at 11pm on Sundays). I was seated right away and was offered water and the waitress told me the specials of the day. I started with the frituras de malanga (must try!) and cheese soup (delicious) and my main course was spaghetti napolitano that was brought out with garlic rolls and to top it off I had a batido de mamey. Needless to say I couldn't finish it all but it was amazing and can't wait to eat my left overs for lunch tomorrow!! Pricing is very economic for the amount of food you get! I went to polo norte retaurant on 3/13/2019 for dinner with my family and i have to say the Service was terrible! My family received there food with missing items and I never received mine. We ordered drinks and we had to express our concern several times til they finally brought it out. I received my food after 30 minutes and cold. The food was tasteless or was over done. They put way too much mojo or naranja agria to season chicken?? When I got my food the mash potatoes tasted like instant mash, I can't even describe the flavor of the smoked pork chops it wasn't good that for sure. The only passable thing was the Caesar salad which contained lettuce and four croutons. I asked to credit the food or something, they told me to pay for it anyways... All in all it was one of the worse dining experiences I have ever experienced. What a disappointment especially being so close to my house.
