When I lived in Santa Cruz, Gilroy Outlets was one of my shopping destinations. On my way back from a conference in Santa Barbara, I decide to make a quick stop at the outlets to use the restrooms by Erik's Deli Cafe and the Polo Ralph Lauren store. This was the first Polo RL store I shopped at and remembered buying polls back in the day. On this visit however, selection seemed scarce and deals even more so. Perhaps I've been spoiled by the San Francisco Premium Outlets (aka Livermore Outlets) but Livermore has a great deal more of clothing choices and clothes on sale (normally on top of an additional percentage off). If I came back to Gilroy, I'd still stop by but I don't think my expectations will be as high as they were going in this time. read more

Very disappointed with this outlet. This is expensive and high quality merchandise. I mean come on all the clothes are off hangers, covered in dust, or in many cases on the ground. Seriously wtf? Came into the store, and immediately felt I was being watched. I found an item that was on sale. There were 4 different colors of this one item. The color I wanted had a different sale tag than the others, so I asked the cashier what the correct price was. She was sarcastic when I told her the sale tag by saying "really? I was just over there". So I walked her over, and what appeared to be the manager, moved the sign to make it seem I was wrong. So shady! I will be calling corporate. This review is for the children's store...such cute clothes and for really great prices, especially those on extra sale/clearance. Workers are extremeley helpful here, and the store is spotless clean. I don't have kids of my own, but love buying goods for friends and family member's babies here all the time! Be careful, as much of the merchandise in the store is made SPECIALLY for the outlets. The fabric is thinner and not as well constructed as what you might find at a Macy's, Nordstrom's, or their first quality stores. This is especially true with button down shirts, sweaters, women's blouses and dresses. Most of the merchandise in their factory outlet stores has never been inside one of their first quality stores. Pull over polo shirts are of the same quality as their first run stores. Sign up for their email list and receive email discounts that are even good on sale merchandise. The store was featuring a 40% off of lowest marked price sale, and then the email discount took off another 20%. Now the prices were reasonable. read more

Probably my favorite store in the outlet center at Girloy... really didn't want to walk in for so many reasons... Just went in to ask where the Children's Polo store was... I wanted everything. A few notes regarding some of the 1 star reviews below to start. 1) I just paid with AmEx, so no idea what this person is talking about them only taking Visa. Perhaps this is an old policy. 2) It sucks that the definitions of a good selection were different, but nobody should consider RL as a go to for men's neckties or bowties. You ended up where you should have started, Robert Talbot. Regarding my own experience. It was great. Staff was more than willing to assist and would come by periodically to see if you needed help as they did rounds. I cannot state the importance of this enough, but the store was well lit making it inviting to stay in while shopping. This is a big contrast when compared to the dreary lighting and overall mood in the neighboring Brooks Brothers Factory Store. It's also much better than the atmosphere in the "our brand is too good for you" Lacoste store (I remember growing up on alligator polos in the Izod/Lacoste days, but felt uncomfortable and unwelcome in there). The other huge positive factor is that the RL factory store is actually filled with real Polo RL clothes. This isn't the lower quality 346 line that plagues the BB outlet. It may be limited in colors and styles, but you get all the basics and many of the styles with a few overstock and some low selling items. At the end of the day RL is about those classic basics, so it carries everything I need. I went for a linen shirt and came back with 1 LS custom fit linen shirt in a beautiful print, 4 LS custom fit sport shirts in gingham and check with 2 in summer colors and 1 an Oxford, and 3 custom fit mesh polos in bold classic colors. I hadn't really bought shirts in years, so I knew I was going to buy quite a bit. The prices were all reasonable. It's not cheap, but considering the cost of RL at retail, it's a fine price. The long sleeves were about $32 as they were all 50% off the regular sale price. The polos are so classic I don't know that they ever need to discount them. read more

It seemed like the vast majority of their stuff was XL, XXL and XXXL. And maybe a few XXXXL as well. And why do they have to lock the dressing rooms so you have to flag down a clerk everytime you want to try something on...? Prices are okay and for the polo shirts, they have a bit more variety in the sizes available. I would only go here for the shirts and not anything else unless you wear the sizes mentioned above. read more

Polos in every color you can imagine (ok I'm over over-exaggerating) , oxford shirts, chinos..these are some of my favorite things..and they're all here for cheap! A lot of people expect outlet stores to be dirt cheap, without realizing that most outlet stores including this one is more of a company store, then a outlet store (with last years designs, excess inventory). Most items sold here (aside from purple label items mentioned below) were made specifically for polo company stores and aren't the same as you would find in department stores (aside from the polo shirts and oxfords). One in a while this store carries purple label items (returns from ...in case you didn't know purple label is Ralph Lauren's most expensive line of clothing....these clothes sell for hundreds of dollars in Ralph Lauren stores like the one in SF or Palo Alto, but here you can find them for as little as $20 if you're lucky! Giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because service has been crappy lately, but still much better then any other store at the gilroy outlets. read more

What can I say? It's Ralph Lauren. A traditional staple for every yuppie, prep, collegiate, tennis player, golfer, wine drinker, good cheese eating, horse loving person everywhere! Seriously, these clothes are classics. Be careful with the cuts, there's a huge difference in classic and custom fits. They have an amazing selection here. Plenty for everyone, and great prices. I think Polo clothing is usually overpriced for the value you get, but I was pleasantly surprised by the prices and selection here. Most of the polo shirts here were of the striped and non-standard colors variety, but the store was filled with people who seemed to be really happy about that. In the future, I might swing by here for deals on dress shirts that are better than the quarterly sales at Macy's. This time I just bought some pajama pants that were an extra 25% off and seemed snazzy (and useful as I had forgotten to pack any for the weekend). read more

Nice store, but not that much selection available. For instance I could not find the LRL swimsuit I wanted in blue and my husband did not find any shirts for his size. Mostly L and XL available... So I was quite disappointed to have driven all this way for almost nothing. I came to this location because I was in the area and in need of some oxford shirts. I was looking for a specific shirt that always seems hard to locate in this store, and so I asked the employee in the fitting room and she spent a lot of time searching for the shirt I wanted in the size I needed. She couldn't locate the store, so she then asked another employee- who I am assuming was a manager and she was able to locate the shirt I needed in the stock room. The service I received today was probably some of the best customer service I have received thus far; the employees actually seemed to care, did not give any attitude, and they worked together to help me out. Mixed reviews about this place. Been during peak holiday season to get Mr. some decent tees and jackets. While I like their tees, the rest of the stuff are more directed for the elderly. while we are no teenagers ourselves , we love us some nice trendy clothes. Needed to get a sport coat for Thanksgiving. The sales guy got me the right coat that was on sale 50% off. Service was fast and recommend if you need a good suit in a pinch at low cost. They are open late at the outlets with ample parking. read more

We were outlet shopping Thanksgiving week(sorry, just getting around to yelping) and wife wanted to see if there was anything that I liked here. There were over four times when we had questions and had to go get a salesperson(and they were not busy). They ignored us and could care less(and wife is a shopper so there loss). I did purchase a dress shirt and a t-shirt. When wife cut off the tags to wash them she was curious and pulled off the $19.99 "our price" sticker on the t-shirt and was shocked to see the permanent "our price" was $17.50!! They had marked up the shirt(so that the holiday markdown would look even better??)!! They will not get any of our business and is a very good reason to watch your outlet shopping. read more

My mom is a huge fan of Ralph Lauren, if you were to peek inside of her closet you'd find an entire rack devoted exclusively to Ralph. Black, blue, or green label my mom pretty much loves them all! We're planning a family vacation and my mom and I decided we needed a few wardrobe additions, because no matter how much clothing is in your closet there's always room for more. It's been a long time since I've been to the outlets in Gilroy, but not too much has changed in that time. Mom made a beeline for the Ralph Lauren outlet and we were greeted at the door by a really friendly sales associate. The majority of stock in this store seems to be geared towards men, great for my dad since Mom snapped up a few shirts within seconds of entering the store. I have to say that the women's section was pretty small and the stock that was on hand didn't really inspire the shopping frenzy I usually see my mom overcome with when she gets within arms reach of Ralph Lauren. Price wise you will definitely save when shopping at an outlet vs. shopping retail, but personally I think that if you hit a sale at the right time at Macy's or the Ralph Lauren store you can find even better deals than those offered at the outlet. read more

it was my birthday yesterday & i didn't get to do much so, me & my boyfriend decided to check out the gilroy outlits. cool, right? well, we get there two hours before closing & employees were helpful answering questions but when we went to check out there was only two registers open w/ about 10 employees just walking around on their phone, literally doing absolutely nothing & the store was a mess. shit everywhere. the line is progressively getting long. we stood there for about 20 or so minutes, the women behind me dropped her things & left. still we wait w/ a couple hundred of dollars worth of clothing. this guy is getting checked out in front of us, than all of a sudden his friend came out of no where & cut in front of us. when my boyfriend confronted the employee working the register because mind you, this is not the only store we want to shop at & we're pressed for time. he replies, "they're friends", "they're together" but he was never waiting in line?? whatever. so, we dropped our things & this other female employee working the register, the one w/ the obnoxiously large fake-eyelashes sneered " YA, HAVE A GREEAT NIGHT" so, you'll never see me back there, again. do better, polo. read more
