I arrived on June 14, 2025, to pick up two pairs of Christian Louboutin's that needed the soles replaced and a pair of Aquazzura heels that need new heel tips. After I gave them to him, he told me that the soles were separating from the boot! I found Michael's Boot & Shoe Repair on Yelp and decided to taken them in for repair. I dropped them off and was given a pick up ticket. The woman who worked there gave me a ticket and said I might want to take a picture of it because it often gets lost. And having that ticket number is the only way to retrieve your item at pick-up. So glad I did because I couldn't find it when I went to pick them up! The woman looked over the boots and said the cost would depend on how much gluing was needed. Fair enough. Once the "promised by" date arrived, I went to pick up the repaired boots. The cost and time needed for repair was reasonable. The repair took place back in December, and they are still holding up, so they did a great job! I would definitely use Michael's Boot & Shoe Repair again if the need arises.

Just an update. Finally got my shoes back. After scratching the leather in the heels (when…read moreoriginally coming in to replace the heel tip)...it took several months to get it back because the leather they ordered came from Italy. Not only was the quality not the greatest...they ended up replacing the heel without acknowledging they broke or damaged the previous heels. They replaced it with a thicker heel and the red on the soles of the heel don't even line up correctly and can tell the gap. In addition, the soles are ruined from the hack job of replacing the heel. Customers beware on taking your Christian Louboutins here.

It had scuffs all over, caked with dirt/mud, and heels and soles worn all the way down. The shop owner quoted me $89, which was a average price for the area (I called around a few other shops). I also requested a new more durable sole and re-polishing. I took it in on a Wednesday and it was ready by Friday. When I picked it up it looked brand new. The quality was outstanding. I wish I took a before photo to show the difference. He also charged me less than what was quoted, even with an upgrade sole and polish. I will be coming back in the future.

I've been coming to this tailor shop on and off for the past 15 years, but unfortunately, my most…read morerecent experience will be my last. I brought in a dress on a Tuesday for alterations ahead of a video shoot the following week and gave very clear instructions: shorten the sleeves while still allowing them to drape to the ground, hem the dress so it would still cover my feet while barefoot, take in the middle section from side to side, and ensure the dress was steamed. At the time of drop-off, I was charged $70 upfront for the sleeves and hem, and was told I would receive a follow-up the next day via text with pricing for the middle section. I was given an estimate of $30-$50 for that portion by him in person. However, I didn't hear back until Saturday--four days later--when I was told the sleeves and hem would now cost an additional $30 (bringing it to $100 total), and the middle section would be an additional $80. While I could understand the middle section costing more depending on the work, I did not appreciate the change in pricing for services we had already agreed upon and prepaid for the hem and sleeves. When I questioned this, I was told I was "lucky" with the pricing, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. Nonetheless, we came to an agreement on the final payment. When I returned the following Wednesday to pick up my dress and pay the remaining balance, the issues continued. The hem had been cut too short, the middle section was not fully completed, and the dress was not steamed as requested. When I pointed these things out, I was met with excuses rather than solutions. I've had positive experiences here in the past, which is why I continued to return. However, this experience lacked clear communication, consistency, and quality workmanship. It's disappointing, especially for a place that was once my go-to.
