Very sad to leave a negative review for this family own establishment. I had been taken my shoes there for some time, always great service. I recently picked up a pair of shoes that were left there for them to resole. They ripped the velvet along the edging. Of course, when I asked about it, he tried to tell me that they were older shoes, and that I probably did not realize that the damage was done prior to dropping them off. They were well taking care of Chanel flats There's no reason why I would accuse them of doing that to my shoes when I had taken other shoes many times. Getting harder to find a place to get your shoes shined. A skill set that is dying slowly. Thankfully, I was referred here by a sales associate from Nordstrom. Took care of my three pair of shoes. Got them back the next day. Staff were pleasant. This isn't the place if you need a shine immediately so consider that. There's no chair to walk-in and be on your way. My only regret is not taking "before" photos. I had a couple of much loved booties that I wore until the soles were coming off. A good friend told me about Roma as an alternative option to Deno's and I was so impressed by the craftsmanship, care, pride, and service. I dropped off a pair of boots and spoke about the main issue of the heel block separating wanted a replacement and a complete clean up. I pick up my boots and all that was done was a repaint of the heel block. Still same leather just painted over to cover up where the stacks were separated. Not what I asked for. The only good thing was I was just charged for the paint job. From what I've seen they know how to make boots but from my research it's the repairs they struggle with. read more

I found Roma's here on Yelp when I was just about to donate/trash 'have for a lifetime' quality (& cost) Italian leather riding style boot that were barely 3 yrs old. The zipper on the boot was badly damaged when I walked into a roughly cut off parking sign support on a dimmly lit sidewalk in Old Town Plano. I sent Mr. Gonzalez photos of the damaged nylon zipper to make sure a repair was possible before making the drive. He assured me that not only possible to replace the zipper, but the amount was surprisingly reasonable & affordable to me considering the cost of the boots. Honestly the best shoe repair shop ever, I am never going to a different one! I took in a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps that I've had for a long time and never wore because the sole was slippery, so I asked to have the red rubber sole added on there. I had previously called other places, such as Deno's in highland park, and they quoted me about 50 dollars I believe. I was going to go there until I saw the reviews on Roma shoe repair. Here they only charged me 20 dollars! And the shoes look amazing!!!! It only took them about 4 days with the repair! I have my shoes back and I'm ready to wear them out now! Thank you! Gonzalo does beautiful work. I've used him for years for any shoe, or boot repair issues, and I have always been pleased with the work. I recently had him make two pairs of Caiman western boots, and they turned out absolutely gorgeous. I've had many compliments on them. He has resoled several pairs of my Rocket Buster boots, making them as good as new. His prices for making boots is extremely reasonable, especially considering the materials, and his attention to detail, and his pride in his work. read more

I do know know why this has 4.5 star reviews. They ruined my BRAND NEW Italian leather shoes that retailed around $280. I was so excited I had gotten them on sale around $170. I had barely worn them. I took them in to have stretched across the front strap and have shoe savers installed. See the pictures for yourself to see the damage this shop caused. They scratched up the leather (read: leather was gouged out). Even with shoe polish or shoe paint the leather is gone and will never be back. The shoe also had a black pen mark on it. And they left some kind of pink tape residue inside on the sole. In full disclosure they readily gave me a check for the amount I paid for the shoes when I showed them the damage, HOWEVER the price is paid is not enough to replace them - or to make me feel good about this shop - because now that particular shoe is out of stock and to replace it with a comparable one would be the roughly $300 mark. So to get another pair similar to this I would have to likely pay another $100+ OUT OF MY POCKET as a result of this debacle. I am more than displeased by that. They really should have paid me what it will cost to replace the shoe with something similar, like insurance does for loss. read more

Probably won't be patronizing this business again. When I went to pick up my shoe last week on a Friday around 12 noon, there was nobody there. I waited in my car for over an hour for someone to show up. There was no sign saying that they were out for lunch or whether or not they would be reopening for the day. I live 15 minutes away, so that drive was definitely for nothing. I finally picked up my shoe yesterday. I didn't even mention or question them on why they were not open the other day. I'm just so glad they no longer have my shoe held hostage. I have another shoe that needs to be repaired, but I will try somewhere else this time. read more

4 times now I have taken shoes for repair or cleaning and they were not done well. 3 were pretty easy but still not done as promised. This last time, my dog chewed my boots. Mr. Roma said he could repair them IF he had material. I had a broken foot years ago so these boots were some I could walk in easily so were important to me. Ok, looks like I may have "jumped the gun" on this. I wore my "new" cream leather sandals about a week after I got them back from Roma's and the leather finish started cracking!!!! OMG So emergency trip back up to the shop, taking along with me another pair of Frye sandals whose strap popped out. Mister Roma himself remembered the cream sandals and couldn't believe the finish was cracking off etc etc whatev buddy just fix this pleeeeease! So he took it back no charge and the other sandal with the broken strap, I offered to give him the matching sandal so he'd know how to place the strap but he declined. See where I'm going with this.... So I come back a week later and I think they had forgotten about me because for some reason my cream sandals aren't ready yet. Really? It's been a week and you told me Wednesday, uh huh. Ten minutes later they're done and I'm out the door. I get home and compare the fixed broken strap sandal to the original and lookey here, the strap's been placed wrong. Gah. I'm so over driving across town to this place I'll just take the dang shoe to my good old standby near my house to see if they can fix this stupid mistake. I've had great experience with Roma's! Got a recommendation from my SA at Neiman Marcus downtown. Gonzalo is so personable and friendly and his business is so honest, reliable, and fairly priced. I took 2 pairs of my high end ballet flats and a pair of pumps to him to get resoled (after the original soles had been extremely worn down) and he fixed the leather on the tops, resolved them, they look brand new now. He was true to his word and the shoes were ready for pick up within 2 days. The price was super fair and I got all three back in even better condition for less than $100!
