Hubby and I are staying here on our fourth visit to this beautiful island of Maui, and we are enjoying ourselves very much. We arrived to a clean and inviting condo, stocked with all of the essentials and even some thoughtful extras. There are laundry facilities onsite (tip: download the Wash Connect app ahead of time and load up your funds in advance-or make sure to have plenty of coins on hand.) There is also a pool and hot tub combo. Unfortunately, my poor hubby forgot to put sunscreen on the second time he went out snorkeling one day, and he managed to get an epic (and painful!) sunburn, so it looks like we might not be sitting in the hot tub together watching the sunset. This was my 4th time staying at Polynesian Shores in the last 14 years, and I have to say it wasn't as good as I remember it being. The added hot tub since we were last there is an amazing amenity, but I would not call this complex family-friendly, ruined by two permanent residents. One man lives in a bottom unit, somewhere in the 120s, and he was the biggest jerk I have ever encountered in my life. My family had a 14 hour travel day with a 3 hour time difference. We got the kids (12, 9 and 5 years old) to bed at about 10:00 PM, but due to the time change, our youngest was up at 3:00 AM. We kept quiet until 7:00 AM, and then got up and had some breakfast. Our kids were so eager and excited to swim in the pool, but we made them wait until 8:00 until the pool opened. After 45 minutes of swimming, the aforementioned man came up to me and my husband and asked us to "keep it down". I smiled and said "I know they're a bit loud, but they are in a pool...they're so excited to be here and swim." He then told me "then maybe you should take them out". I explained to him that we had a 14 hour travel day the day before and they've been up since 3 in the morning, and they just needed to burn some energy off. I was so upset I went over to the pool, closer to my kids, then he kept complaining to my husband, who'd also had enough and told the man off. We were so flustered that we removed our exuberant 5 year old out of the pool (which I regret doing) because he was being "too loud". We understand that kids can be loud, be we do our best to not let them be out of control and over the top. THEY ARE KIDS! They literally haven't swam more than once in the last 2 years of the pandemic, all they could have done was swim in that pool in our 10 days spent on Maui and they would have been the happiest kids in the world. Luckily that man didn't come up to us at the pool for the rest of our trip, though I always felt on edge if he was outside and the kids were in the pool. He did feel the need to tell our 12 year old to not pass a soccer ball with his new friends because it was "ruining his supper" Another permanent resident "tattle taled" on my 13.5 year old nephew to management because he was swimming alone/unsupervised. The rule is under 13 must be supervised, but this lady needs to mind her business, he was quietly swimming and not disturbing anyone. The same lady asked my 9 year old and 7 year old niece if they had a parent with them at the pool, and they pointed at my husband in a chair. GET A LIFE!! These residents need to be reminded that there are families at this complex, or it needs to be marketed as an adult-only complex if these two grumpy residents feel the need to target and bully kids and young families while they are paying a lot of money to stay there. We were even told by the manager our kids couldn't quietly play Marco Polo in the pool, there's literally a sign that says so. Good grief. As for our unit, #211, there is no privacy whatsoever--only 1 bedroom, a very open loft and the 3rd 'bed' is a pullout in the common area--be very mindful of your unit layout while booking. It was fine for our family, but I wouldn't want to share with friends or other family. The toilets need to be replaced, the TV upstairs didn't work, and the hot water lasted 3-5 minutes tops and our bathroom ceiling fan was coated in dust. The furniture needs to be replaced, the king bed upstairs is extremely uncomfortable and the sheets/mattress cover are extremely loud with any little movement. You have to buy your own toiletries if you run out too. There were no oven mitts and barely the bare bones of utensils and essentials needed to cook and serve meals On a positive note, keyless and contactless check in was amazing and seamless. It was really nice that through the laundry room by the clothesline there was boogie boards, beach toys and even some snorkel gear for the kids to borrow/use. I have nothing bad to say about Bree (no actual interactions but have heard nothing but good things), and the property manager was a bit curt about the rules, but professional and a nice guy once you got talking to. The pool, hot tub, and views are absolutely amazing. No beach though, all lava rock. Whenever it is we get back to the island, I'm not sure I'd want to stay here again because of the two residents that made parts of our trip miserable. read more

Spent time with sea turtles on the beach. Enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the waves. It's very close to Kaanapali and Lahaina!! Great beaches and many restaurants close by. We recently stayed 6 days at the Polynesian Shores in April 2023 and our experience with the facility and condos was thumbs up allll the way. A friend of mine stayed here a year ago and was the one who recommended this place. This was our first trip to Maui and we stayed in Unit 108 from 5/23-5/31. When we opened the door, we found a welcome basket on the table (pineapple, coffee, other goodies), and felt a nice, cool breeze. We were worried since this condo didn't have AC but it was not a problem at all! There was always a cool breeze, and you can hear the ocean waves at night, how relaxing it was! I love the granite counter-tops, stainless steel kitchen appliances, all the necessities in the kitchen, extra pillows, towels, and decor. While I prepared our meals, our girls (ages 6 & 8) would play out in the big lawn (the tree & swimming pool was right across our unit), and it's nice that I can see them as the kitchen counter faces the lanai. My youngest'd bring me flowers every day from this tree right in front. I love that the little beach was only steps away from us, and we were lucky to see the turtles come out! What a treat to come home in the afternoon, grab a cold bev, and just watch the sunset! We had problems w/ the wi-fi in the beginning, and Julie, the manager, came to our condo to fix it. She also spent some time with us looking at maps, informing us about what's close by, where to take the kids (BABY BEACH IN LAHAINA--THANK YOU!! WE LOVED IT!), and suggested other places/travel tips. It's not a hotel, so don't expect you'll have housekeeping everyday, or that someone would come to empty your trash & put your towels away. But at $140/night, with killer view ocean front, a NICE kitchen AND having the space we need for our family of four?!? I will definitely come back again! Highly recommend this place! read more

Started off with a hole in the wall and being told that the wifi that is here does not work at all. I work from home while I travel and need wifi. When I brought this up with management, I was told to take it up with Airbnb. While doing that, an unidentified, unmasked man entered our unit without permission. He was immediately told to back up and leave. He said he would text his family in the police department. He then continued to walk around the property unmasked while speaking to permanent residents. He was true to his word as the police showed up and gave us one hour to leave despite being unable to tell us what we did. The manager claimed he felt threatened although no one threatened him once. We were removed simply based off his feeling and told that this is private property. This was all clearly in retaliation to our complaint to Airbnb. So, myself and my pregnant wife are stuck on vacation with no where to stay. Stay away from this place as it is not safe! read more

We really enjoyed our stay here at Polynesian Shores! We were in unit 209, we had a late arrival (after 10pm) but the staff was very accommodating beforehand about leaving a key in the box for us so we could get into the unit. The one problem with the late arrival is it was rather difficult to find the parking spot with our unit number because it was so dark. Parking is limited here, and we had a giant car next to our space the entire time. We had to pull our car out sometimes to exit and take the board off the top. The unit was very nice..I was a little nervous about the no AC esp. since I knew I would be sleeping in "the loft" portion. The ceiling fans were great though, and I never felt hot at night, though it did get kind of warm in the late afternoon with the sun shining in all day long. None of the units have any AC, but people do not seem to mind, and that's a good thing! Nice breezes blowing in from the ocean and the ceiling fans should be fine. This was not a personal complaint of mine, but the loft bedroom/bathroom did not offer a ton of privacy. The bathroom was very nice with a double shower, and it was huge...but it did not have a door...and the shower did not have a door..and the toilet did not have a door, so basically, do not share the loft with anyone you are not comfortable with seeing you naked, unless you plan on banishing them downstairs. I guess you could do that, I am not really very modest person, so I was rather unconcerned by this. I guess it just depends who you are staying with. So anyway, the unit was nice and had everything we needed. The staff was very friendly esp. when we told them we had friends coming over and they offered to help with their parking/finding of a spot. One other note is that it can get kind of loud around here with everyone having their windows opened, though I thought this sort of enhanced the atmosphere. They have quiet hours in the evening and those seem to be well respected..ok blah blah blah..onto the fun stuff! Ok the beach- Well, unfortunately, we were here almost right after Hurricane Ana, so our first morning, there was not a ton to see with the snorkel/masks. Everything was still just really churned up, we did have a very nice swim though. The entry point can be a little tricky when the water is murky because you can not see where any of the rocks are...but there is a ladder off this little jetty thing and you can go in from the ladder. The water clarity did seem to improve throughout the visit, though certain portions never had a ton of visibility. BUT there is a nice little break offshore here so my dad got to surf, though there is a reef right underneath the break. Didnt bother him so much, but I dont care for that. I was happy to swim around with the turtles and avoid the rocks...I think it just depends on the time of year, general weather conditions..maybe sometimes the snorkeling is awesome, we mainly just did some swimming. There were some nice waves though, it was pretty cool overall :) So there are also all these tidal pools and small sections of beach where you can see a ton of turtles! So that was cool too...also fun to climb around on the rocks and see other cool stuff like sea urchins and starfish. The pool is very basic, it was nice for a rinse off. the sunsets are incredible and everyone seems to congregate together to watch them...certainly makes the evening beverages tasty! I would def, come back and would recommend, all these condos along L.Honoapiilani seem to have been built in the 70s and this one def has a fun, mellow, 70s vibe to it. love! read more

And when we got there the kitchen ware was so dirty and all towels had blood spots on them plus it's sooo unfriendly place for kids. One star for the beautiful oceanfront view. read more

I have been looking forward to coming back to this condominium for 25 years since I brought my children here when they were young. I came back this year with my grown daughter and two grandkids AND I recommended it to two other couples who came with us. The setting and the privacy of a small condo complex was attractive to all of us. However, we had one huge complaint that tainted our week staying there. In our friends unit 223 there was not enough hot water to have one complete bath or shower before the water got cold. As there are 4 people in the unit it seems there should be enough water for people to shower. We first attempted to just scatter the showers throughout the day but the problem persisted. They contacted the rental manager who did eventually call a plumber that took 2 days because the water heater was locked in the owners closet. According to the manager the plumber said that the water heater was fine and the manager told us the capacity of the water heater was 35 gallons so there shouldn't be a problem. I guaranteed her it didn't take 35 gallons to fill up a bathtub 2-3 inches and have the water go cold. One of the reasons they stayed at the Polynesian shores is because one of them enjoys baths more than showers but for the entire week he could not take a bath nor a complete shower before the water went cold. The day we left the water was cold for the first shower that one of them took without anyone else having used the shower. I am writing this review because I recommended this location and feel badly that it worked out this way. In 222 we had the same issue but never reported it because Bree was very clear to them that there was nothing that could be done. She offered no real apology nor compensation for the problem in either unit . Before writing this review I called one more time to ask for some consideration for the inconvenience as the rooms were $300 per night. She repeated that she had paid the plumber $200 to come out and he said there was nothing wrong and that she called the manufacturer of the water heater and there was nothing wrong. There is a cost to operating a vacation rental and I assume that plumbing costs are one of the costs incurred so I did not see that as an excuse for not offering an apology for the inconvenience to us and even a small monetary compensation for the same inconvenience. But neither happened. I also asked about hot tubs in the area and she told me there would be one in the complex after next summer and I said that was "great". Her response was "I am glad you think so" sarcastically. I said "why.. you don't think it's a good thing ?" She firmly responded "no". The view from this complex is amazing. The units are old and could use upgrading -- ice makers in refrigerators that don't work, grout in bathroom that is old and stAined, etc. I wish my experience had been the same as it was 25 years ago but sadly it was not. After our week we extended our vacation and came to the Westin Kaanapali ocean villas and for less then we paid at Polynesian shores we had a room with unlimited hot water, a jacuzzi tub in the room and and at least 4 outside hit tubs on the property, air conditioning and pure luxury. I wish i could say I would go back to Polynesian shores but between the water issue and the response of manAgement I don't believe I will be returning nor recommending it to anyone else!! read more

Our family stayed in #225. It was a cute condo and was perfect for the four of us. The upstairs loft and bathroom were cute and the condo has character. Everything was clean. The view from our balcony was amazing. The ocean was right there. My only complaint is that it does not have air conditioning, so it was very hot upstairs. read more

First day back from our trip in Maui at Polynesia'n Shores. We stayed in Room #225 which is a 1 bedroom and loft unit...... or what they call a two bedroom. When booking a room here, please beware of what they say and what you receive on your confirmation. They will tell you the WiFi is all ready to go, residents are quit and the property is half vacant meaning more privacy. They will oversell you and under deliver on almost everything.The front office knew there was going to be construction next to our room that week and they told me there wasn't anything going on prior to booking. They explained that they had an at will storage area that contains toys and beach items you can use. Also, you are responsible for everything on your own. Meaning cleaning and all items used. Once you are booked and paid for they will not do anything for you. Your designated parking space they claim will not be in use but every day there was some one parked in our spot and I had to call the live on site manager to then find out who's car it was and then reach out to them to then move the vehicle. If you have a baby with you this can take time and become very frustrating because if you park in someone else's spot they will tow you if they are a permanent resident and not a weekly rental. If you are the person that's sits by the pool and reads books all day, this place if perfect for you. Residents who are permanent will be there right by your side to tell you all of their stories and talk your ear off while you try and read your book. Probably best for people who don't have friends and are looking for anyone to talk to. This place is always full and there will always be a line for the BBQ grills if you plan to cook. In room #225, they showcase a paddle board on the wall above the door to the patio. If you call and ask they will say you can use it but in reality the board is chained to the wall and they don't have a key and its only for the owner. So all week long you sit there looking at a paddle board you thought you could use but in fact cannot. No air conditioning, which really sucks. Next time, we will be staying at a resort with air conditioning in a one bedroom as it would have been much better in a one bedroom in air then a two bedroom sweat house. Its up to you to make the decision to stay here and its hard to believe all of these great Yelp stories about how nice it really was. It all seems a bit fishy to me to hear everyone talk so highly about Polynesian Shores. read more

We recently stayed at the Polynesian Shores for a Christmas/New Years vacation. Originally, we had booked a condo in Kihei, but the unit became flooded and were forced to find another location 3 weeks before our trip. Because of the time of year, we had to book 2 separate units: 203 and 205. The 4-star rating reflects the average rating for the 2 units (i.e. 3 for 203 and 5 for 205). GENERAL FEEDBACK: The condo complex is actually located in Napili-Honokowai, which is a 15-minute drive north of downtown Lahaina. Although the complex is fairly old (built in the 70's?), many of the units have been updated. Since each condo unit is individually owned, the quality can vary a great deal ... as we saw first hand. The grounds are extremely well kept and have a wide variety of lovely trees and other flowering plants, including fragrant plumeria trees. The condo is located on a rocky shoreline that is very picturesque, and you can enjoy sitting on your balcony listening to the sounds of the breaking surf while gazing out at Molokai and Lanai across the channel. There is also a small beach just to the south of the condo, which is accessible by stairway. There is also a deck by the shore, complete with 3 large BBQ's. None of the units have A/C, but at least have fans ... which we needed to use, even in January. We kept the windows open at night, and had the sound of the sprinklers wake us on occasion. When reserving the units, I found the office staff to be friendly and very helpful. Given that we were scrambling to find a place on such short notice, they were very accommodating. Also, when we got to sight, I found Julie to be very helpful. We arrived after hours, and the keys for our unit was stored in a lock box hanging outside the office with our name beside it. Our largest inconvenience was that we had no accessible Wi-Fi from our units. In another review, I see that Julie indicates that there is, but if that's the case, we not able to access ANY Wi-Fi in either unit, nor were we provided any instructions on how to access Wi-Fi. However, at least there was a hard-wired Internet connection in each kitchen, so we could access the Internet from my laptop. Now for a review about the 2 units ... UNIT 205: ------------- This is the second unit that we stayed in, and I wish that we had it for the whole week. Although the same size at unit 203, it appeared to be much bigger because of the layout, decorating and colour scheme. It was extremely clean, well furnished and the owner obviously takes pride in their unit. The cooking utensils and pans were high quality. The unit had a very open and airy feel to it, and had enough room for my family with 2 teenage boys to stay in. We had no noise issues, as others have mentioned on the first level. The ONLY disappointment that we with this unit is that the allocated parking spot is very inconveniently located, and difficult to access if the lot is full. If you stay here, make sure to ask for a different parking spot if one is available. Would we stay in this unit again? Absolutely! UNIT 203: ------------- This unit felt more cramped and less welcoming than unit 205. It seems as if the unit hasn't been updated in over 15 years. The stairs leading to the main bedroom on the second level are treacherous, with narrow steps. It was very difficult (and dangerous) carrying heavy luggage up and down those stairs. Also, there is very little clearance when coming down. Even my wife, who is 5'4" bumped her head coming down the stairs. The upstairs bathroom was a bit dingy and looked like a second-rate motel from the 70's. The shower head was VERY low, making it uncomfortable for anyone over 5'6". The kitchen has a bulkhead over the stove, which unfortunately cuts off natural light into the kitchen and makes the entire area seem small. The bulkhead is locked any only for use by the owners. It was clear that the owners of this unit don't have the same level of pride as those for unit 205, and have chosen to minimize any additional costs for this unit. It's hard to even imagine that they're in the same complex! Would we stay here again? Absolutely NOT! read more

I come to Maui often but this was my first time staying here. The staff is so nice and we were amazed by the property. Great location for things to do and right on the beach! Saw whales and turtles in the mornings. Every unit has some of an ocean view. Pool is nice to dip off in after a long day. We will definitely be back! read more

This was our first time to Maui, and we will definitely be back. The location of this condo is amazing. The condo #126 itself was nice. We had a few different unexpected things happen and the owner, Greg Salmon, was very customer service oriented and worked quickly to resolve. Due to some of the inconvenience experienced at the condo during our extended trip, Greg also worked with us once we were home to ensure we were fairly reimbursed for an agreed upon amount. We thought this was very kind. We stayed 14 days over the Christmas and New Year holiday. The weather was phenomenal and the people are very kind all around the island. We really liked being in a condo instead of a hotel. We shopped at Safeway and the local fish markets and cooked on the BBQ grills almost every day. We met and visited with so many locals who live in the condos there. We went snorkeling, hiking, shopping, luau, helicopter tour, and enjoyed great company every day. It was so nice at night to be out at the ocean front grills cooking all kinds of delicious seafood. The pool is warm if you don't swim in the ocean. The ocean is right outside & its incredible to hear the waves all night as you're falling asleep. The main bathroom was remodeled and has a great shower. The two bedrooms are good size. There's a washer and dryer which was a huge bonus to us, as we were traveling with kids and my elderly parents. There's a few easy things that could be replaced or updated to give five stars. Overall, we found the booking and all the communication with the owner to be fairly easy. We would definitely consider coming back to stay again! read more

WTF. Don't waste your $$$ here. We rented thru VRBO-the pictures depicted newly updated, pristine condo...not the case. There were mold spores on kitchen cabinets, dead bugs throughout the condo, and it was a freakin' sauna!!! You're basically paying for the view-and for what we paid, we could of have gone somewhere nicer-which we will next time. The people we met were wonderful, but I would not recommend staying here. We stayed in #213. I have been to Maui dozens of times and stayed all over the island. This place was VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING for a number of reasons. #1 This unit has NO AIR CONDITIONING and #2 NO BEACH IN FRONT OF THE PROPERTY. The upstairs smelled like fresh paint and it really messed with my asthma. They did have some fans which did not look clean. The carpet to the upstairs was dirty and had an odd sour smell. The photos of this unit are very deceiving as they have a gigantic mirror in the living room that makes it look huge. Every morning and every night there were some kind of flying insects on the ceiling that I had to dispose of. Unfortunately, I ended up having numerous insect bites on me. The other residents we ran across were not friendly at all and this complex has a very long list of RULES you must follow or they will scold you like you are a five year old, put a notice under your door, etc.... God forbid you are on vacation and dare to talk to each other past 10:00 pm. There are so many great places to stay in Maui but this place is not one of them in my opinion. read more

The resort was great. Sorry if this effects the entire resort. We were charged $300 from Bree in the Office for smoking in the room even though we never did. Instead of leaving cigarette butts on the beach we put them in the garbage so it smelled. Bree was rude to us and wouldn't even listen. Rented 3 condo's for the week and everything else was great. Nothing worse than ending your vacation with this. We will probably never go back for this single reason. read more

I was there for 14 days in August, and we had a wonderful time. It is Maui at its best. We had the 2 bedroom unit shown in the brochure online. It was clean. You can snorkle out front, and we swam with the turtles everyday. Amazing. Beaches are better than the pictures show. The BBQ area is really nice.. Its relaxing, you can walk, its about 10 minutes from Lahina and 5 mintues from Kanapolli..In the winter you can watch the whales right from the shore. Its only about 50 units, 2 storys high. So its small, and just right.. Perfect Maui.. I would go back, and plan to.... read more

Great location. Small sandy beach with a TON of turtles in the water. Water was a little cloudy, but the snorkeling was fantastic. Kids had fun in the pool and playing on the huge lawn out front. #203 very nice, a little skimpy on some of the necessities we've had in other condos (good scissors, BBQ utensils, beach mats) but clean and the king-sized bed was very comfortable. The view is wonderful, the pool is great, the ocean front is rocky but clear for snorkelling if you want (although I would prefer a cove which has just as much to see in less turbulent waters), it is nice to meet the other guests and as with this area of Maui, close to the things we needed. read more

I must preface this review by saying that this has NOTHING to do with the property as a whole. I have stayed in other units at Polynesian Shores a number of times and it has been wonderful and I would give it 5 stars. However, we recently had a terrible experience when interacting with the owner of Unit #126, Greg Salmon - he tried to keep our substantial deposit. While I hate that this review will impact other good owners of condos at Poly Shores, I have to find a way to warn people of this owner. I have attempted to submit this review on the VRBO site that he uses but to date they will not publish it because I did not end up staying in the unit. This is their policy which is unfortunate since there is no way for me to warn others before trying to do business with him. I did submit to Ripoff Report which is available to see. If you google his name and the condo and unit number you will see my submission as well as a number of others who have had a similar experience with him. Here is the review that was intended for VRBO Unit #126: This is a warning to all those who may rent from Greg Salmon (who at the time of this entry owned this unit). Here is the sequence of events that I went through with Greg so you can decide for yourself if it's worth the risk: 1. I put a large deposit down on this unit for a family vacation but had to cancel due to financial reasons. 2. I emailed Greg to cancel well within the 60 day 100% money back guarantee (published on this VRBO site at that time) but he said his policy was 90 days and he would need to post and re-rent it. I mentioned what the VRBO site said (also sent a screen shot) but he still responded stating he would need to re-rent it for me to get my deposit back. 3. The next day the site was changed from 60 to 90 days 4. I realized I was still within the 90 day mark (within just 2 hours) so emailed him again about it but no response. 5. I continued to email and call him but received no response 6. I started a dispute process with my credit card company and warned Greg that I would pursue the formal dispute if I didn't receive my deposit within 24 hours. 7. No response from Greg so I started the process formally and let Greg know that he will be hearing from them. 8. Two hours after my email and call, he called me and said his wife sent the check over a week ago. I did not receive the check for another week which was postmarked the day I emailed him telling him I was starting the dispute process, so he completely lied about his wife sending the check a week prior. If you don't trust my word, you can find similar reports about him doing the same thing (lying, avoiding and keeping deposits) by googling his name (there are several other reports on the ripoffreport website). I would NEVER rent from this person, even if the unit was free! But again, Polynesian Shores has MANY wonderful units with honest wonderful owners to rent from. Just got back from 5 night stay at Polynesian shores. Our unit had everything we needed for cooking, we used the bbqs on the deck 4 out of 5 nights. We snorkeled on the beach & swam with the turtles like the other yelper mentioned. Beds were comfortable, great location, will definitely return, great value for the $ we spent. read more

I have stayed at this condo complex on 5 separate occasions and sadly the 5th would be our last! We had great service and great accommodations the first few times we stayed here. The location is awesome, the pool is nice and the views are amazing. Unfortunately on our 3rd trip we had to be moved from one condo to another due to a mold/mildew issue in one of the bathrooms. The staff took a look and confirmed the poor quality and promptly moved us to another condo to finish out our visit to Maui. This did not deter us from visiting again as we felt it was a one off incident. Our 4th stay was good. The 5th stay was good up until the point that 3 members of our party developed a rash and bumps. We thought at the time maybe it was something that we came in contact on the island and passed it off as such. It continually got worse as the trip went on and upon returning to the mainland consulted our doctor who clearly said that the issue was "bed bugs". I was not going to do anything at first as our trip was over and I didn't think there was much to do about it. Shortly after hearing this news, I received what I took as a confidential survey from Polynesian Shores inquiring about our visit. I took the time to fill it out and explained what happened and clearly stated that this would most likely be our last visit. I received a call today from someone at Polynesian Shores who was extremely rude to me. She stated that I was was lying and the unit has no bed bugs whatsoever. She told me that I should have called them instead of writing it in the review as to be able to not put the review out for others to see. She was very persistent in letting me know that we where completely wrong and that I was simply lying. I will say this... she never did once apologize or empathize with our situation. My wife, my brother in law and my 22 month old son all contracted bed bugs on our vacation to Polynesian Shores. I have nothing to gain by writing a bad review of this condo complex and simply want to let others know what they are in for should they decide to book a condo here. Make a good decision. There are plenty of nice condo's in West Maui to stay. Save yourself the trouble of dealing with this one. read more

This review is STRICTLY FOR the OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE and solution we received from Property Manager Bree. We kindly ask you to review both before making your decision on renting property here. This review is based on a family of five, 2 adults, a 13 yr. old, and toddlers ages 5, 2. With a six day five night stay. CUSTOMER SERVICE REVIEW ONLY. (Please read our first review on the UNIT ONLY) As a continue to our first review, we are pleased to give the property manager five stars for working out a quick and reasonable resolution to our dissatisfaction of the current unit rented. Bree is a very great business woman who understands customer service, family, great accommodations and safety first. She's very knowledgable in her field, tentative, ready, willing and able to work for you and make sure your stay in any of their properties is pleasant and enjoyable. We stated our health and safety concerns of unit 203 the very next morning and was offered a great solution at a newly acquired property the company received. It was Unit 1 at Kaanapali Plantation. A partially remodeled and upgraded 3 bedroom, 3 full bath unit on the golf course front. One level, which is totally safe for our two toddlers (who is enjoying every bit of this property living area) Bree allowed us to stay at the current unit without restricting us to the check-out time policy so that they could properly prepare the new unit for us. Because my husband booked through a third-party website company, Bree took care of speaking with that online company and worked everything out. We were properly refunded minus the first night stay and cleaning fee of $125.00. We were given the new rental unit at the same price of the previous rental unit but with a cleaning fee of $225.00 due to the size of the unit. Understandable. That was a blessing for us because the new rental unit's going price ranges between $230-$260/per night? Something to that affect. Our family is truly thankful to Bree for her outstanding customer service. Although, I'm on allergy medication for a couple of days, I'll be alright. Mahalo nui loa, Bree, for making our family business vacation an enjoyable and comfortable stay. We enjoyed our stay at unit 223. Friendly office staff and neighbors. The view is amazing. Only improvement for this unit would be to install an ac unit. The temperature wasn't really an issue but it was fairly noisy when trying to sleep with all of the windows open. We went to bed early and had a hard time with the neighbors outside talking loudly, or the very loud sprinklers coming on periodically throughout the night. Our rental car door also got dinged by the person in the reserved spot next to ours. The unit was decorated well, but had a little issue getting the wifi to work. A beach umbrella, chairs and cooler were provided which was a nice touch. We were a little surprised that there weren't any beach towels however as other condos provided this. Overall happy with our stay. read more

everything was great until the property manager found out that we were a wedding party and threaten to kick us out without doing anything wrong. It truly ruined the experience. He began to pick on us by picking everything we did he didn't like. It was rude and in considerate when other rooms were doing the same. Other than the property manager and checking out at 10 am (our flight was at 11pm) it was a great place. But I honestly wouldn't recommend it just because dealing with the property manager. read more
