Really hard to beat the views and the little location. Sitting on the beach in Napili, those blessed with an ocean view condo get to peer out their window and see a lovely bay that offers amazing snorkeling, then gaze to the right for an ocean view with picture worthy sunsets. Below also sits lava rock where the waves provide a soundtrack to your stay and just a short walk to a gorgeous sand beach. These places are all privately owned. Some are owner occupied but most are rented out. The facility is run like a hotel for about half of rental units while some are offered on sites like VRBO. It's actually cheaper to just call the front desk and book through them. You have a choice of one or two bedroom places and most offer ocean views. We were able to get two of the two BR places a couple of deeper down from each other for our two families. We had an upper loft with a king bed and private bath and the downstairs had another bedroom and a fold out sofa in the main room. Fully furnished with dishes, cooking tools, towels and linens. It made it so much more affordable to buy groceries from Costco, fill in at the local Napili market and splurge on the occasional meal outside. Maid service is cut back to twice per week due to Covid but we loved every bit of our stay.

I've been coming here since I was a kid. This was my first time in 9 years and it's just as amazing as ever. A quiet beach close by, snorkeling right in front of you, beautiful Hawaiian sunsets! It's a truly hidden gem!

Each unit is separately owned, so the condition of the unit depends on how well the owners take care of it. A-23 has been completely remodeled and upgraded, and is absolutely beautiful! This unit has an air-conditioning unit that is super quiet!...No more waking up at night because the air-conditioner kicked on. There are two flat screen TV's and all brand new appliances, and has a washer & dryer for an extended stay. It is close to one of the pools and one of the BBQ's. The side walls are concrete so you don't hear your side neighbors at all. You can hear the sound of the waves crashing while you sleep at night. I just love having a cup of coffee early in the morning on the lanai, while watching the waves crash on Turtle Bay. This resort is right in front of a turtle bay. There has never been a day that I don't see turtles when snorkeling. This resort borders the beautiful Napili Beach which is just a quick 4-5 minute walk down the winding beach path. There's also the famous Gazebo Restaurant next door but expect a long line for breakfast, and the Sea House Restaurant that is right on Napili Beach. The local beach rental shop next door has great rental prices. The staff at this resort is super friendly and accommodating.

We've stayed here twice now and we will keep coming back as long as we can! I feel conflicted in writing this because it is amazing here but it is definitely a hidden gem and I don't want to give it away too much! Lol In Oct 2016, we stayed in unit A12. Flying into Maui, we got stuck overnight during our connection in LAX. We called the front desk to let them know we wouldn't be arriving until the next morning. They graciously accommodated our delay and kept our reservation plus removed the night we missed (talk about going above and beyond)! In Oct 2018, we came back for our honeymoon and stayed in B16. Again an excellent stay! Highlights of this property... - Ocean view condos close to the water (you can't beat it!) and they're nice & quiet! - Quick & easy access to beach(just north of the property) and easy access to snorkeling (on property or at the north beach). There are a good number of green sea turtles that frequent this bay & it is fun to be able to snorkel with them. - Each condo is individually owned and designed but clean. They've all got character and a homey feel to them which is great! - Each unit has some kind of kitchen which is a plus. It's great having the option to prepare some of your own meals. There is also access to communal propane BBQs if you want to grill. - Two pools available in case you want them for any reason! We used them one day due to safety concerns with strong currents & a high surf advisory on the beach. We used them again another day when we wanted to lay out for a short time prior to attending another event. - Ample parking (and no extra fee for it!). - Close drive to Lahaina & Ka'anapali for activities you can't find here. Also close to Kapalua.

This place is paradise! Breath taking views. Private cove. Walking distance to a beautiful beach. Great place to swim! They have two pools if you don't want to swim in the ocean. The condos are beautiful. Not all have a/c. So be aware of that. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Lots of parking. We really enjoyed our time here.

Breakfast service was noticeably slower, and some of the thoughtful touches we appreciated before -- like the kids club activities and special gestures -- are no longer available. The live music at the pool is also gone, which definitely changes the atmosphere. Eric is still around the pool and remains as welcoming as ever. The woman who served us at breakfast was lovely and had a wonderful smile, and Jenny at the spa is still here too -- she continues to be fantastic. Our waitress did make a mistake on the order but instantly put it right so nicely we couldn't fault her, plus we were left with an extra free drink so what was there to complain about! As it is a pool bar there is a very relaxed vibe so we can visit after snorkeling and feel perfectly dressed :) There is often a musician playing live music too. It is soooo nice to just hang out here at sunset, I suggest you do too!

The free valet was fantastic, and the room was spacious, clean, and had a gorgeous ocean view. We had an issue with our mattress and it was never comfortable. That was the big bummer of the stay. They replaced our mattress after we said something but it didn't fix the issue. When we laid down, we always felt like where laying way back like toward the headboard, feet higher than our head. It may have been a bed frame issue. It wasn't the worst, we just ended sleeping the other way. You have to call housekeeping to get service. That was super easy and they did a great job. All staff on site were wonderful. The grounds were well-kept, and we loved spending time by the pool--there were a few different pools, each with its own unique feel. Surprisingly, we went down the slide several times (haha it's not just for kids). Duke's on the property was a big plus. They had servers taking orders pool side. The food trucks nearby were fantastic, dealing distance away, and so much variety. they're open u til 8pm. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely come back.

Honestly, we had such a great time the first time we were here that we returned for our, super late due to Covid, Honeymoon last month. I love the size and location of the property. From the pools, amenities and the gorgeous view. The rooms are condos that come with kitchens, laundry and balconies. The first time we stayed we did a one bedroom partial ocean, but this time around we did a studio and enjoyed the full ocean view. The staff have spoiled us with some sweet congrats cookies that we really enjoyed. This property also has a Dukes on site which is super convenient. They do get busy though so we've just ordered to-go and enjoyed our food on the balcony. One thing I wish this hotel did have would be a cafe, or some kind of coffee on site. There's a market in the other tower, but the building we stayed in has one under construction. I'm hoping they put a coffee spot because it would be perfect! We love the location and feel when we come here and the included parking is a HUGE plus! I couldn't recommend the Honua Kai more and we look forward to more visits here in the future.

Unfortunately, our experience fell well short of those expectations. Our stay started with being checked into a room that hadn't even been cleaned. After bringing it to the staff's attention, they did make an effort to recover by moving us to a new room, providing $300 in resort credit, and offering us an Oasis bed at the pool, which we appreciated. However, the service inconsistencies continued throughout our stay. One evening we returned from dinner to find another couple's honeymoon welcome package--including champagne and banana bread--delivered to our room. While not a major inconvenience, it highlighted a lack of personalization and attention to detail that you simply don't expect at this level. Pool service was another disappointment. Our initial lunch order of avocado toast, poke, and carne asada tacos took over 30 minutes, and a later quesadilla order also took more than 30 minutes. The staff did comp us a round of drinks for the delay, which was appreciated, but the food itself was underwhelming and didn't justify the premium pricing. What stood out most was the disconnect between the cost of staying here and the overall experience. When you choose a Ritz-Carlton, you're not just paying for a beautiful property--you're paying for exceptional, personalized service and flawless execution. That's the standard the brand has built its reputation on. While the staff consistently tried to make things right after issues occurred, there were simply too many preventable mistakes during one stay. This is a beautiful resort with wonderful employees, but at this price point--and as Platinum members--we expected a much more polished, personalized, and consistently exceptional experience. Recovering from service failures is appreciated, but ideally, guests shouldn't have to experience so many of them in the first place.

Absolutely AMAZING!…read more After reading several great reviews of the property, I booked a premium resort view room- kukahi tower. Unfortunately upon checkin, my requested two queen bed accommodations were unable to be provided. At the recommendation of the front desk clerk Caroline and the MOD (Manager on Duty) Keith We decided to opt for the king bed and roll in "Heavenly" twin. Keith was very apologetic for the lack of requested accomodations but provided us with an upgraded ocean view room and The LĀNAI . This resort is 5 stars in all respects. The staff experience was exceptional. The food & beverage experience was outstanding. The resort is spotless clean and meticulously maintained. The pools and surrounding decks were large enough that we never felt crowded or had an issue finding chairs. The resort has a huge game area "Valley Alley" with a full bar and kitchen. Well appointed with the latest games including VR, air hickey and even bowling. The resort is conveniently located right next to Whalers Village. A short 3 minute walk. Our room was well appointed with all the ammenities that you would expect from the Westin brand. From thick bath towels and The Heavenly bedding to ice cold A/C. This resort has it all. Our experience was made even better by the exceptional and most sincere service provided by Miss. Giadee Kaiwi Hōkūpa'a Experience Coordinator. She made our visit that much better with her warm smile and pleasant attitude. A true ambassador to the Westin name.

When we first arrived, the room we were given was right next to a loud malfunctioning air conditioner. We asked to move and the staff were able to put us in a quieter, albeit smaller, room. The room has a small kitchenette area with sink, small fridge, microwave and utensils, dishes. There is a pool and small hot tub in the common area as well as tables and BBQ facilities. Free parking in the back as well as free laundry facilities. The lobby area is staffed 24 hours and you can swap out beach towels for clean ones. Reasonably priced, it's not high luxury but you don't go to Maui to sit around in your room anyway. Would stay here again!

It's a smaller establishment. It's not super luxurious. It was perfect for our stay. Across the street is Captain Jack's, which has a lovely happy hour and Restaurant. There's lots of restaurants and coffee shops. You can walk to for your morning walk. The ladies who work at the front desk of upon check in are so nice. Hannah, the concierge, is such a delight in helping booking for trips. If you want a five star luxury resort, Kahana Falls is not your place but if you want a nice clean laid-back atmosphere for a fabulous price, I highly recommend it. Thank you for a great eight days at your place. We will definitely be back again.
