Like the first yelper wrote, this is a typical sup shop that prides itself on fried seafood dinners, various salads, and a more Italian "feel" due to the name. But it's within a strip mall, got the idea? I recently visited with a friend, we both ordered salads, specifically said we were eating "here," not "to go," yet our salads arrived at the table, hand-delivered by the cashier, in plastic to-go containers. I've heard rave reviews about this place's roast beef, and after a bit of a drive down to see the in-laws for a belated Christmas, we made it to Pomodori's and took our seats. As has become a tradition for us, i ordered a pizza and a sandwich. (I'm new to Rowley and still scouting around for the best pizza joint around.) The roast beef was three-way, for those of you who don't know what that means, it's a shaved roast beef sandwich with cheese, barbecue sauce, and mayo. The sandwich came out in around ten minutes, the pizza a few minutes later. I must admit the roast beef was delicious, the ratio of meat was not extraordinary but normal. The pizza was ok, just average, maybe a little less than. I wouldn't come here for the pizza, even if it says "Pizzeria" on the sign. Seems their other items are much more popular. My wife got the chicken kabob salad, and was largely impressed by it. My advice is, if you want good pizza, take five minutes and grab 20 bucks out of the ATM and stop by Riverview Pizza, just a short drive down the street. If you're looking for something a little more personal, Pomodori's has good taste in just about anything else. read more

The food is amazing they have gluten free options and the staff is incredibly friendly and good at their jobs (they also always repeat the orders back to you on the phone which I love) 11/10 !! Prices are decent, and the seafood is fantastic! two of three times ordering the haddock basket yielded the freshest, most perfectly cooked piece of haddock around. The third time, it was a little overcooked and not quite as fresh. Portions are big, so come hungry! Classic steak fries, awesome hand dipped onion rings. It's a shame this place hasn't been reviewed more; I'm sure it would be a top contender for the area. The super beef is great, too! Parking is a little hard to get, (even though it's in a plaza,) around lunch time, so the best bet is to get in just before the lunch rush. read more

Didn't want to write a review but this place has really gone downhill since the good ole days of pomodori's Ipswich. The prices have gotten ridiculous, the food quality is terrible and the portions are half of what they used to be. Tried numerous times to give this place another chance but just can't do it anymore with amount of wrong orders, attitudes from the people who work the phones and such small portions for the price. I would skip this place and go to any other local sub shop like Zeno's, Ipswich House or Georgia's as they all have great service, reasonable prices and larger portions. I've lived in Ipswich forever & the food has always been good quality & they've always had good staff. Recently, they have gone under new ownership. Ever since then, they have gotten my order in incorrect almost every time I've ordered. Either there is the incorrect ingredients or something is missing or added. Ordered pizza to go-usually get delivery to crane beach in past years but this time we picked it up. Pizza was good-the girls working were rude but the food was fine. I have the worst luck at this place. The pizza is meh. There really aren't great choices for Italian style pizza in/around Ipswich and certainly no place that delivers. I've tried Pomodori's a number of times both pick up and delivery. The pizza is cold and often overcooked. Once I was convinced they took an existing pepperoni pizza that someone else didn't pick up and added extra pepperoni per my request and stuck it back in the oven until it was dark brown and you could break your teeth on the crust. read more

Let me start off by saying the food is pretty good. Roast beef is good... my favorite is the Chicken & Steak Tip salad. Get extra dressing because it's amazing. I give 2 stars because of the frequency of messing orders up when getting delivery. I wasn't going to write a review because honestly the mess ups were not that big of a deal, more of missing extra sauce\etc. rather than receiving the wrong sub... but recently I ordered online and my order never arrived and that was what prompted the review. Pomodori's catered my Christmas party ! People ate like they were going to the electric chair. They delivered on time and everything was spot on. Delicious - from eggplant and chicken parm to calzones, pizza, sausage, peppers and onions, and steak tips. Salads were crisp and fresh. Definitely would use them again !!! read more

I've lived in Ipswich since before Pomodori opened and was very happy when it did because the pizza in this town was in the gutter awful. For a Greek-owned pizza place, the pizza here is very good. I still think Italians make the best, but no big deal. Over the last three years, Pomodori's prices have gone up to the point where you realy can't call most of their items resonably priced. The pizza pies have always been a little small and you feel hungry after it's all gone, which is not a good thing. The ingredients are fresh and tasty, staff is friendly, and the place is usually very clean. They also make great gyro sandwiches. read more

We go to this restaurant all the time. Tonight, I drove all the way home to find out something was missing. I called and my husband went to pick it up. They had an attitude when he picked up the order and said they won't give anything free, even though it was their mistake, not to mention our order was over $50. My husband took the order and said have a good day. The girl behind the counter had such an attitude that she corrected him and said " it's actually night." Their customer service has gone down hill. I have spent a decent amount of money here placing last minute orders when we had no plans for dinner or needed something quick. By doing so I earned reward points after hundreds of dollars. For some ridiculous reason the rewards expire even though they let you accrue them over a long period of time. I went to order a pizza and realized my $10 reward expired the day before and they would not honor it. I will stick with Riverview from now on for my pizza order. Sorry excuse for a reward system - why even offer it if you screw people over. read more

i lived in ipswich a couple years ago and loved coming to pomos after school. i recently went back and received dirty looks/disgusted stares from most of the workers. specifically a staff member with a tattoo on her arm was staring me up and down and genuinely made me want to hide behind my friend. the whole experience was very uncomfortable and for that reason i won't be returning. the staff makes the place look very unprofessional. read more

Like every pizza place in Ipswich, this one again features the unpardonable sin of pizza swimming in sauce. Except their novel twist on thin crust seems to be an oversized communion wafer except even less taste and texture. Go to the Shaw's in the same plaza and get yourself a cheap microwave pizza, it will be far superior. read more

I eat here probably once a month and usually get the same thing, the roast beef dinner. If you are in a market for roast beef, this should definitely be on your list. They are generous on their sides. I have have also tried the grilled Caesar salad and pizza. The salad was great and the pizza was good, just not as good as the other stuff. It is also cool that they have charity nights that give back to local sports and school activities. They even have online ordering so you don't have to deal with speaking with the staff, just kidding. The staff there are very friendly cool people.There is plenty of seating but, watch out if you plan on going after school just gets out because it will be busy and full of kids. read more

I'll start by saying that the food from Pomodori is good. Which is why I stupidly continue to order from this place even though they can NEVER get my order correct. 9 times out of 10, they forget to include the side of dressing or marinara sauce that is clearly printed on my slip (though in lieu of that, they occasionally substitute some other screw-up). Even more egregious than the error itself is the attitude of staff when I make them aware of it. NEVER once has an apology been made, nor is there any sense or urgency to correct the problem. I was even told by a delivery person that it was "not his department." I understand that mistakes do happen, but this is a consistent issue, and quite frankly the staff couldn't care less. Bottom line: I'll be ordering from establishments that take some pride in what they do and make an effort to provide good customer service. I've lived in Ipswich for 15 years and have been going to "Pomos" since the beginning, That being said, I will never eat here again! When they first opened up I found the pizza to be delicious, the roast beef was fantastic and the prices were reasonable. Over the years, I've noticed that as it became more popular, the prices have gotten RIDICULOUS and the portions are pathetic. One night we ordered a large pizza with mushrooms. When we opened the box, there was literally 2 to 3 mushrooms on the pizza that were broken up into little pieces to make it look like more. This has happened so many times! One night the man in line in front of me ordered a large cheese pizza. When the girl behind the counter handed it to him, he said "is this an empty box?" And God forbid you try to have something delivered! You'll pay an arm and a leg for it and by the time it gets to your house it will be ICE COLD! Today was the final straw. I went in to buy my daughter a small turkey sub which cost me NINE dollars! When the girl handed me the bag, it literally felt like an empty roll was in it. When I got home we opened the sub to find ONE slice of turkey and ONE slice of cheese. Are you kidding me? I just can't understand how the Pomodori family can rip off the people of Ipswich like this! When you get a sub at Georgia's there is so much meat in it you can literally make two sandwiches. These owners ought to be ashamed of themselves. read more

Pizza and calzones are good but service is terrible. While I was working I left my husband money to order pizza and calzones, he ordered 2 calzones and a large pizza not knowing they had different sizes of calzones. When the order arrived he was shocked that it was almost $60. Since I get home around midnight they were closed. When I called to let the manager know the next day he was extremely aggressive and rude saying that "they don't make mistakes" and that "my husband did ordered a large calzone" he went one to say that the restaurant shouldn't eat the cost! WHAT?!? So clearly the customer should. I mentioned again that my husband was not told that there were different size calzones and maybe the person taking the order misunderstood because he ordered a large pizza. Again he insulted me saying that it was great that I believe my husband but he knows that it was him that we ordered wrong. He went on to say that he was the only person who answered the phone on a 14 hour shift and he knows every order that was taken. I find this hard to believe since it was a Saturday night. Never mind he didn't even bother to ask what the exact order was. Even though the food was good we will not be returning due to how rudely I was spoken to on the phone. The manager/ owner of this place should be ashamed of how he speaks to customers, I myself have worked in the restaurant industry for years and no matter how wrong the customer was I would never have spoken to a customer this way. read more

I ate here regularly for 3-4 months, ordering literally every day. I am kind of a boring eater so I always order approximately the same thing and every other order I would get a diet coke 2 liter bottle. I always tipped 20% or more, and added a dollar if driving was extra difficult because I feel bad for those who have to go in bad weather from place to place. However, last time they brought me a coke not a diet coke, and I didn't notice the mistake until after closing hours Sunday February 1st 2015. The next day Monday, they didn't have delivery due to snow, so I couldn't ask for the mistake being corrected. Now today, two days after the fact, the next day they delivered, despite ordering from them repeatively they insist they can't fix this. Even though I am a regular customer and I over tip. Be warned, you're just a phone number to them, not a person if you order for delivery only. Maybe they are different in person, but I find the people who answer the phones don't see you as a person, just as money. In addition, it's not the only problem, but considering this is the only one of real importance, I'm posting this. read more
