    Curly fries, yum!
    Jonathan H.

If you're driving through this part of Massachusetts and feeling lost about where to eat like we were, this is the safe haven you were looking for! The roast beef is super lean and doesn't have that weird taste that sometimes roast beef has. The curly fries are nice and crunchy and pretty fun to play with. It's a nice family owned restaurant that makes you feel very welcomed. Lunch was very reasonably priced and we were super happy with it.

Super Roast Beef Three Way was delicious and service was extremely friendly. Did not realize current owners opened in 2015 and it's a husband/wife team that took over from parents. Nice historical family business.

After a long day of travel my girls and I wanted to see what Ipswich had to offer. Zeno's did not disappoint, we were welcomed with a smile upon entry. The restaurant was clean, well kept and very open. The food was delicious, the fish and chips were a hit with three of us and the fourth was in love with her sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by the onion strings, they hit the spot. So happy I ran across Zeno's while preplanning our trip.

Are you there god? It's me, John. If you want to talk to God, here's your chance. Eat this sandwich and enter an altered state of roast beef reality. Get the super "3 way" and then you can contemplate the existence of the universe. You will discover that we are simply on this planet to pass time in between bites of this roast beef sandwich. I am new to New England - this sandwich also helps me understand why people live in such a cold and rainy place. This sandwich is a portal of understanding - I believe it can solve world peace and the climate crisis. No, I'm not kidding. Zenos for president.

    Roast beef 3 way!

I've heard of this place through social media and knew it was a must try. When you walk in, it has the aesthetic you expect from a north shore beef joint. No frills, stationary benches to sit, and a Wachusett chip display. I always go with a junior 3 way. This place did not disappoint! Flavor was crazy good. The meat to sauce to mayo to cheese to bun ratio was on point! The bun held up nicely with the amount of beef they loaded on it. As my sister says, "I want a blue collar beef." Could not have said it better! I don't want the fancy toppings, just a perfect 3 way. This place is slinging beefs, and they are worth the drive! One of the best beefs I've ever had!

Went to Zeno's Today and the 3 way roast beef was unbelievable best beef I've ever had!!!

    Jr. Roast beef !

Great place to eat some of the best seafood or roast beef! We are from N.H. visiting the area and came across this place! Amazingly good! Thank you for the quick service and friendly service!

Oh my is that a damn near perfect beef! Top rated beef for me in Northshore!

Great place to stop in and grab a beef, definitely the best around. Well crafted and damn near perfect. The onion rings are delicious. Big beef, ring, drink and your all set.

Perhaps Essex County's finest roast beef. This establishment carries the tradion. My fav is Junior extra mayo.

Even the coleslaw and tartar sauce were made with care. The servers hustle like crazy. They treat you like good friends. Some diners may have frowned on service. Those girls never stopped, and they smiled and laughed. (Who doesn't need that these days?) It's sea scallop season, so even those scallops are expensive I had to do it. The scallop dinner w/fries and onion strings was a bit over $35, but there were 14 huge, right off the boat succulent scallops. The burgers also looked great. Get on over there.

You can tell the regulars get priority attention from the bartenders, but we eventually got taken care of too - just be prepared to be patient if it's busy and you're a new face. The food was good with very generous portions that definitely give you your money's worth. Drinks were well-made and hit the spot. We loved the setup for watching football - great views of the games from multiple angles around the bar. **Important heads-up: This is a CASH ONLY establishment.** Make sure you stop at an ATM before you arrive, or you'll be making a quick exit to find one. The vibe here is very much old-school local pub - if that's your scene, you'll love it. If you're looking for something more polished or trendy, this might not be your spot. We enjoyed the unpretentious atmosphere and will likely be back, but it's definitely worth knowing what you're walking into first. Bottom line: Come for honest pub fare, generous portions, cold drinks, and a genuine local experience. Just bring cash!

We ordered the fisherman's platter which comes with shrimp, scallops, haddock, clams and fries. We also ordered onion rings. The onion rings weren't my favorite since but really crunchy nor sweet. But, everything else was so delicious - especially the clams and scallops! We took our order to go and enjoyed in the car. The kids loved the fries, shrimp and fish. A very well run operation, clean restaurant , well maintained and quality fresh seafood. Plenty of seating indoors or outdoors. Now; my meal summary. Beer a 16oz and cold ... perfect Fried clams were outstanding, not greasy, no gooey bellies with sand or mud... outstanding taste . Scallops moist, tender cooked perfect and outstanding. Onions rings nice breading but need more taste? Maybe add in buttermilk and add a mild hot sauce or blend of peppers or soak rings in a salted brine or something I saw a chef do somewhere? Cole slaw was too big of a serving and moist but all the white cabbage? Needed more green, purple cabbage and more flavor to the sauce? Maybe more cream, pepper, vinegar or pice sugar or whatever the great slaw makers do ? Needs flavors The clam chowder ai was not a fan of? Lumpy wax the friend of Wally on the Leave it to Beaver show... this was lumpy and no Needs flavors .. I added 4-6 packs little pepper packs but didn't help. Add some Hungarian paprika or tarragon, salt pork or bacon taste, garlic or onion or worchershire sauce? Anything to kick it up a notch while keeping the New England clam chowder theme for tourists... definitely not lumpy . Now... they provide mixed tarter in small containers and tarter was very good on my clams and scallops . My major pet peeve is the Heinz ketchup packet containers where it days to peel to dip Or tear to empty ? Never work half time and accident waiting to squirt on my white shirt for a 12 buck Ckeaning charge or dispose of shirt as a red spot on white shirt ... Dump those and put ketchup in little containers like tarter or find a better ketchup option... the gross bottles handled by everyone who may or not wash their hands less appealing . The funky ketchup packets are sucky too... surprised that Heinz hasn't figured out an improved dip cup ? Or a ketchup cup use like the McDonald's nugget sauce cups ? Anyway maybe cheaper for clam box to buy bulk ketchup and fill cups like tartar sauce cups? Maybe upgrade to a Clam box better ketchup... not a game changer for my excellent fried clams and scallops... Great clean , sanitary place , quality seafood cooked excellent and consistent every visit. I'll be back and when chowder improves... 5 stars rating all day.

No apology or anything. Just oh well. She was rude!!! We will never ever return there again. I think she was the owner. We did not mind waiting but when it was 30 minutes and she did not apologize that was it. She then was rude when she brought the dessert and then the check came with attitude too. Other tables were sayin goodbye to her and see you soon. I guess you have to be a regular to be treated well there. She was horrible. Who cares about the food when someone treats you like that!!!

I had a glass of sauvignon blanc and after studying the menu and consulting our server my companion and I both went for a burger. There was no problem with my swapping out the french fries for onion rings (points there!). The burgers were done exactly to our liking (mine mediume rare, hers medium well). I should have turned down dessert, I was that full, but my companion was willing so we went for it. There was a good selection of typical New England desserts and we finally settled on a blueberry crisp topped with vanilla ice cream which was good but not great (not sure I can put my finger on why, so it may be that I was too full to enjoy it). There is a parking lot although it is not paved so was not fun walking through at the end of a day when it clearly had rained. It also could use some lighting.
