I visited a pawn shop in Pomona Pawn Shop on 2/23/26 to pawn some silver jewelry, and unfortunately, my experience left me disappointed and concerned. The employee assisting me did not clearly explain the purity percentage of the silver he was evaluating (whether it was 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, or 100%). When dealing with precious metals, transparency about purity and pricing is extremely important, and I did not feel that was clearly communicated. Initially, I was offered $205 for my scrap silver. I could not see the scale from where I was standing, so I asked him to take a picture of the weight. The first picture he showed me did not include the unit of measurement -- it did not indicate whether the weight was in grams, ounces, or another measurement. I had to ask him again to take another picture clearly showing how the scale was set and what unit it was using. Only after I questioned it further did he realize the scale had not been properly adjusted to grams. He then blamed another employee, saying the scale had been changed but not correctly set. That explanation was concerning, especially since weighing precious metals accurately is a basic and essential part of the transaction. After the scale was corrected, the offer increased to $300. That is a significant difference from the original $205 and makes me question how much I might have lost had I not spoken up. When I checked a silver pricing app, it showed market values exceeding $600 based on the current rate, which made the initial offer feel even more questionable. Throughout the process, I also felt rushed, especially as I brought out additional items. While I understand businesses have closing times, there was still sufficient time when I arrived. I simply wanted to ensure I was receiving a fair and accurate offer for my jewelry. Accuracy, transparency, and clear communication are critical when handling precious metals. I left feeling uneasy about the process and would strongly advise future customers to carefully verify weights, measurement units, and pricing before finalizing any transaction. read more

I was in a situation where I needed to purchase a new phone as quickly as possible as my current phone died. I had my heart set on an iPhone 11 Pro since the product release but I deferred the purchase as there was no urgent need. However, after an unforeseen accident mishap, there was suddenly an urgent need. Obviously, this is a pricey investment as iPhone 11 Pros cost a lot of money and it's an important tool that must be reliable for several years. As a witty consumer, it came down to two choices: purchase a new phone from an authorized dealer, who will undoubtedly mark up the product to make huge profits, or purchase it from a shady individual on Craigslist who will sell me an inexpensive phone that carries a lot of unknown risks. Instead, I chose to purchase my brand new iPhone 11 Pro through Pomona Pawn as they represented the product in a fair, honest, and transparent manner. We negotiated on a price that was fair for both of us and we transacted the phone purchase in 5 about minutes. This place is pretty great. I'm not sure where all these negative reviews are coming from. I've been coming to them for years now. The jewelry they have is beautiful. I have gotten all my jewelry from them, I don't go anywhere else. Also, whenever I find myself in a bind I loan here. Their first 60 days are free of interest which really comes in handy. Even if I passed the 60 days they give me plenty of time to get my stuff back with their 5 month loans. The employees there all know what they're doing and do their best to help you to the best of their abilities. They really try to connect with you on a personal level so that you are confident that they will take care of you and your stuff. read more

I decided to give this pawnshop a chance since they're new in the area. After I walked in I instantly was treated unfairly. I was given such a low estimate compared to any of the other pawnshops in the area. Sure the 30 day 0% interest is cool, but I was offered almost half of what the other pawnshops offered me.
