We have owned four campers over 20 years and this is, by far, the worst camping and diving area…read morewe've ever stayed at across the U.S. They allow a few people to ruin it for everyone. Management has no backbone to ask a few bad apples to be respectful. Pros: Truly none Cons: Side by side trail riding took place the same weekend we were diving and staying at their campground. Management allowed a few thugs to play vulgar and explicit rap music at the highest possible volume. I counted 5 large speakers on one machine, which rattled our windows. Many campers complained about this. Nothing was done after notifying MGMT. No one wants to hear this all day and until midnight. The general rules say quiet hours are 10pm. Campground rules say midnight. When I notified MGMT of the issue they sent me a screenshot saying quiet hour don't start until midnight. Great response! It's 9pm and we're exhausted as I wrote this review, but you can't go to sleep because the music overpowers any noise cancelling machine you have. Campsites are not kept up or cleaned between campers. So much trash on our site when we arrived. Look at the picture. It's 9pm and the thugs are blasting rap music with every other word being a curse word. I don't want my children exposed to this. The place is so run down. True junk everywhere. The space beside the dive shop could be a junk yard. Piers falling through at the water. Trash floating in the water. Water clarity was extremely horrible. I've dove more clear waters in rock quarries than here. The algae is unreal. We are leaving early and cutting our trip short. Peace a quiet camping and diving turned into a rap concert with some of Florida's finest. I will be filing a dispute with my credit card company and receiving a refund. I should have adhered to all of the warning from fellow reviewers before booking our stay.

If you are heading…read morewest along I-10 to this hotel, it won't be that long after crossing time zones from Eastern to Central. My stay here was on the night of August 24, 2022. Getting to this hotel from I-10 was pretty easy and was easy to find as well. There was ample parking available when we got here, but if the hotel was busier, I think parking may be limited. After getting parked, I went inside to get checked in and get keys for the room and check out the room. The room is your standard room with two queen beds. We headed out to get some dinner before coming back. After getting back from eating, it was time to check out what the hotel had to offer. I started with the lobby area and main entrance. One thing of note was that as soon as you come into the lobby, they did have some type of scent in that area. I don't know if it was to mask something else, but it definitely set off my allergies and gave a low-grade headache, so I tried to limit time in this area. This lobby area has lots of seating there, along with the breakfast area. There is also an area for laundry. Before going outside, there is an exercise room available with various options. Then I made my way outside to check out the pool area. The pool is a nice size and looked good. Although most of the public use areas such as the exercise room, laundry, etc. would require the key card to gain access, this was not the case here on this visit. After checking out the grounds, it was time to get back to the room and start to settle in for the night. One thing that I did notice in the room that certain areas definitely show the age of the hotel, especially in the shower/tub area of the room (room 204). Also, I noticed in the rooms there were very few outlets and USB connections as well. That also lends to the age of the hotel. Another thing of note is that there was only a trash basket in the room. There was no separate recycling available. Now, for the sleeping and such. The beds were very comfortable. I had a really good night's sleep that night, as confirmed by my Fitbit as well. This is definitely an important aspect of a hotel, so this was really good. I was well rested the following morning. I went downstairs a little after 6 am when breakfast was available. Everything was already set up in there. Looking at the options though, on this experience, nothing really appealed to me. Everything was pretty much pre-packaged items. One was ham and the other was sausage, of which neither I am a fan of. I did end up getting some orange juice though and had something else later that morning when we were back on the road. Overall, the hotel covers the bases anyone would look for. The beds were good and there were several things available to do on the property. I was just still not a fan of the lobby area due to that scent they had going that set off allergies and a headache. When it comes to pricing, I know prices for everything have been going up, but I definitely felt that I paid for a suite, even though I only did a regular room with two beds. With limited options in the area, I will still consider coming here again if my travels warrant it.

Such is the case with the Fairfield Inn & Suites, but it doesn't come without some flaws. Let's discuss. Right as I walk into my room, I am immediately impressed. So much so, that I whip out the ol' camera and start snapping away. The single king bed suite that I got was immaculate and spacious. Imagine my surprise to discover that there were, not one, but TWO televisions in the room; one in the bedroom portion of the room and the other right next to the work area. It all had a very professional feel to it. The two end tables in the living room type area came in very handy, too. I suspect the dual TV thing was due to the fact that it had a pull-out couch in the room. The service here is extremely cordial also. In fact, one of the cleaning ladies complimented me by saying, "Ah, so YOU'RE the clean gentleman that stays here!" I took that as a big compliment, because I realize she appreciated the fact that I don't come into hotel rooms and trash the place. I tend to keep all my used towels in one pile for them and leave the place generally de-cluttered. I figure the cleaning staff in most hotels have to deal with some pretty horrific stuff, so I try to keep it as convenient for them as I possible can. And, of course, no really fine hotel is complete without some type of complimentary breakfast (a legitimate one, that is), but there are a few flaws with this one. First, it could use a few more sides. They basically feature eggs, bacon or sausage, various breads and cereals. What would have been nice to see is some variant of starch, hashbrowns or potatoes. I know it can be done because I've seen less luxurious hotels pull it off. Second thing is...they could restock their food a bit more whenever it gets low. Just this morning as I go down to hopefully enjoy some scrambled eggs, they were out. They were almost out of bacon, too. The thing is it was like 9am and they never even bothered to restock the eggs or bacon. The breakfast bar closes at 10. I'm not even sure the lady running the bar ever checked to see how many were left, because I sat there for a good 40 minutes just to see if she was going to bring out more. No such luck. I'm also a little disappointed that if you happen to take advantage of their WiFi upgrade for higher speed access, it doesn't even come close. I did a speed check and there is literally no discernable difference between the high speed package versus the complimentary one they provide. Deceiving. Ah well. No place is perfect; not even the 5 star ones. Still, this was a stellar stay which I would easily repeat. In fact, I just signed up for a Marriott rewards program which I hope to take advantage of real soon. I'm kind of kicking myself for not setting one up a long time ago, but I hardly get to travel as much as I'd like to these days. Far as I'm concerned, Fairfield Inn & Suites is 4 comfy king sized beds out of 5 worthy!

There is a lot to like about this cute-looking place,…read morebut the star here is because the room was clearly not cleaned, and it was it appears it's not just a fluke, based on other reviews and the multiple areas in the room. The bed had clean sheets (other than the bugs) and the bed had been freshly made - but otherwise, I was afraid to touch anything. Both the shower and sink had debris, trash, and other patrons' hair in it. I didn't get a pic of the sink but it had the same hair in it. The bed had someone's used contact lens on it, right by the pillow area. There were live bugs in the bed. See photos. The bug in my photo was there on my pillow when I woke up the next morning. After I jumped up and shook the pillow - it ran just under the pillow area - that's what you see in the pic. If these things hadn't been taken care of, I can't trust anything else is clean, so I would definitely not stay there again. My stay was about a month ago. I held off on the review, hoping someone internal would reach out for feedback, but no one did.
