I strongly believe this location is not accurately paying people for their recycled goods. Consistently I have received FAR less than I was owed based on their listed prices. Today I brought in 4 & 1/2 trash bags full of items which consisted of one whole trash bin full of aluminum cans, one half trash bin full of plastic #1 and one half trash bin full of plastic #2 as well as a handful of glass items. Usually I could get anywhere from $8 (MINIMUM) to $12 depending on the items/price/etc. But I received $3.85 for it all. I asked to confirm with the person running the recycling area whether or not they included all of my items because it looked a lot less than it was supposed to be and they assured me that they did. On the receipt it shows a lot of my items have been zeroed out meaning they didn't pay me for what they should have paid me for. Instead they chose to scrap it or something else. When I go to a alternate location of this exact company I get twice as much money consistently. Someone at one of these locations is doing something severely wrong, whether that be overpaying at one location or severely underpaying patrons at one location. It's infuriating. I wasted my time and my effort and potentially my money because I turned in recycling that only netted me less than $4. This is ridiculous. read more

Nice and quick recycling center: basically drive up and pour your recyclables in a container for them to weigh. Staff was there to help minimally if needed but the whole process was fast and easy - although barebones. They give cash and a receipt same day. They payout based upon weight, so not sure if it's for price, but glad to have a recycling center close by and will use them in the future. read more

I come by here when I accrue a carload of containers for a trip. Today I stopped by to 1) check if it was still operating, 2) recycle a bit at a time. The sign said they open at 9am. I got there around 8:22am, and take a walk, do some shopping to pass time. By 9:07am, I was at my car. There were 2 other cars waiting. I called the number to ask if they were opened. A nice gentleman answered and confirmed they were opened. I told them our location hadn't yet. He asked which location and I told him the one on Santa Margarita Parkway. He told me someone would be there in 5 minutes. By 9:20am, someone did show up and set up his generator, set up the easy-ups and provided their service. I got to make a couple of friends with the other patrons. The other one person was a regular and mentioned there are usually one or two other workers here. Today it was just one guy and he looked hungover and there was a hint of weed. We agreed if you are going to say you're opening at 9am, you arrive 15 minutes prior to opening, not 20 minutes after. Can't complain too much since this is closest to my home. I got my recycling done and got to go home but now very hesitant about going back and planning on how to schedule my day so I don't make back to back appointments after a trip here. Also usually they will turn you away after 10:30am-11am sometimes if their storage unit is at full capacity and cannot take anymore recyclables. read more

Dishonest and Unprofessional - Avoid the Marguerite Location If I could give zero stars, I would. The Ponce Recycling Center on Marguerite Parkway has a long history of shortchanging customers, making up their own rules, and treating people with blatant disrespect. Every time I visit, they reduce the number of recyclables I bring in, only to "magically" recount correctly after I call them out. Today, I brought in exactly 50 aluminum cans, and they tried to claim I had 48. The employee counting the cans did not communicate with the employee printing my receipt, so they tried to rip me off at both ends. When I demanded a recount, they both threw a tantrum, slammed the cans down, and eventually admitted I was right--but not before cursing me out in Spanish. To make matters worse, they allow certain customers to recycle non-CRV items, like dish soap bottles, yogurt containers, and bean cans, while refusing to accept legitimate CRV items like my pineapple juice cans. There is absolutely no consistency in their rules. It's clear they favor some people while treating others with hostility and dishonesty. Their behavior is completely unprofessional. The staff ignore me when I arrive, refuse to acknowledge me when I say hello, and act like they are personally handing me money out of their own pockets when all I am doing is reclaiming the deposit I already paid. And the worst part? When they shortchange customers, they pocket the stolen money for themselves. Today, after both employees tried to steal from me, the worker printing my receipt threw it at me, threw a dime at my face, and told me "F* you" in Spanish. The employee counting the cans also joined in cursing at me. Strangely enough, my Latino friends never have any issues. They take their word on the number of cans they bring without counting, but they always try to shortchange me. I've given them multiple chances, but this is a pattern of behavior, not a one-time incident. If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid the Marguerite Parkway location at all costs. This place is corrupt, unprofessional, and completely untrustworthy. read more

First of all, they opened LATE. They're suppose to open at 0900 and I had to call cause they were not open until 0915. Second, the guys who are facilitating this area has no attitude. Third, their price is not enough. We went to Costco recycling for less bottles/plastics and we got $70. Here...we recycled total of 10 large bins and we only got $48 ONLY. Never I again I will go to this place. They cheat on their prices and weights. Also, they don't wait for the thing to be weighed properly. So how come they can measure it properly? I don't know. I really wish that Yelp would allow us to give .5 stars for ratings. Maybe that's something that will be available later in the future. The .5 star would be applicable towards this review. I wanted to give them a 3.5 star rating. I've taken my recyclables to this branch a number of times since they've reopened during Covid but this past Friday, June 4th, was the slowest service we have ever received. There were only two people ahead of me, but it felt like an eternity waiting our turn. I've had much more people in front of me and have had the line move much faster than it did then. I'm not sure why. I do like the convenience of this location as well as their longer hours in comparison to the other company that we take sometimes take our recyclables to (closer to the Home Depot in Mission Viejo), but not if it ends up taking triple the amount of time as it did this last time. read more

These guys are honest. I calculated the weight myself and compared the numbers from what they got and it came out the same. They also segregated some of the aluminum cans that were mixed up in the bag and that was very nice of them to do. They wont rip you off like the one by Costco in technology dr called recycling spot those people are terrible and has a very bad mannerism. Am glad to come here today and will start coming back here. I took three large crushed bags of aluminum and 10 large non crushed bags. The guy dumped the bin of crushed bag before I could read the total weight. When I asked the weight he said 70 pounds but when added the pounds to the total then said 17 and shorted me the different costing me like 80 bucks... total fraud so do not go here if you do wait and read the weight before they dump it ... so mad right now !!! read more

I really felt scammed and taken advantage by this place. I filled 2 trash cans with plastic bottles and a trash can full of empty beer bottles (75 bottles) and about 20 soda cans. For all that they gave me only $6.04. I debated with the guy. I told him that was way too little and I want all my bottles back to go somewhere else. Here is how they scam you. As soon as they weigh the glass or plastic bottles another guy takes the full trash can immediately into the back room and empties the full trash can mixing it up with thousands of other bottles. The first guy told me that he cannot give me back all my bottles because they are mixed in with everyone else bottles. I will not go back to this place. read more
