On the day of the wedding Megan was pleasantly efficient, which is EXACTLY what you want when faced with a sprawling woodland venue, a tight timeline, and a large family to wrangle. Megan's cheery personality and hyper-organized plan allowed us to relax knowing that we could enjoy the event fully while she captured the day. She knew the venue intimately and made sure we took advantage of the most beautiful locations and light. We had a few specific shots that we requested (see: dapper dudes sock photo) which Megan made sure to capture. Beyond that, we trusted her to do her thing and I was so happy with the outcome. The result was a set of beautifully shot and varied photos that reflected the mood of the day and the care put into the event: dramatic fall landscapes, romantic nuzzles, ceremony emotion, reunions between family and friends, guests tearing up the dance floor, details of the bouquet and rings -- the list goes on. I was impressed with the intention and personalization Megan brought to her work. A close up of a couple holding hands in the ceremony audience is a nice photo that would make anyone smile, but when it's not just any couple, but the groom's parents, then it's all the more special. There were countless shots like this that made us feel known. In a world that seems saturated with glammed up and overly stylized wedding photos, Megan's work stands out for its clean, authentic, intimate style and personal touch.

Photos were the most important part of the wedding for me, outside the ceremony, so we did not choose a cheap or ill recommended photographer. Pros: -She was on time, well dressed, and nice. -She was very open about the daily timelines, likely hood of certain photos, and how photos would turn out due to unexpected (yet very welcomed) rain. Her partner kept the guys going on their timeline, and overall, we were very happy with this. -She recommended a "photo song" so my husband and I could have a photo with every person at the wedding, which we were grateful for as we were not sure we would get them with everyone before this. -She ensured that the few specific poses I had wanted, she snapped. Cons: -just before she left, I asked how long photos would take. She informed me she would send me a few sneak peaks within a week or so, for Christmas cards, and photos would take 8-10 weeks to receive. -Sneak peaks never came, despite my having emailed (with no response) on 12.14.23 and again 12.23.23. -I emailed her on 2.1.24 and 2.27.24 and was informed both times they were finishing up October photos, and mine would be next. -I emailed again on 4.1.24 and 4.11.24, to which she did not reply until 4.15.24 to let me know I would have my gallery by the end of that week. -Photos did not take 8-10 weeks as she had told me, but instead took 27 weeks (just over 6 months) to arrive. -certain photos had been missed. IE: we kissed at the alter, and then again at the end of the aisle, and we have no photos of the kiss at the end of the aisle. -my husband had a rash the day of the wedding. We were told these would be edited to remove the red on his face, but this wasn't actually done. Overall, photos turned out lovely. However, with having paid just shy of $2,500, I do wish she had been truthful about her timeline for photos turn around. In the time we waited, I became pregnant, and made it through more than half my pregnancy, before I even saw the photos of the day I married my husband. To say I was disappointed in the timeline, and her lack of honesty about getting sneak peak photos to me prior to Christmas, and all photos on time in general, would be an understatement.

I didn't know what to expect from a $40/1 hr deal, and had never heard of XSIGHT before. But I looked at their website & FB page for previous shoots, and was pleased with their work. The Folsom location is out of the way for me as I live on the border of Elk Grove in Sacramento. But I definitely picked the right location with the scenery of Folsom as our backdrop. I had a great experience. Our photographer was Carlos and from the being he was friendly, social and seemed like he wanted to be there. He asked me if there were any places that I liked to go for backdrops and suggested some places. He even joked with my boys which I think made them feel more comfortable for our session. Within our hour session, we were able to get in pictures with 4 outdoor backdrops and 1 indoor shoot. My families photo viewing was just as good of a experience, because I finally got to see how our pictures looked....and I was pleased with how the photos turned out. The viewing session was very relaxed, Chris played the slide show and we even got to talking about my work as a Graphic Designer. Because Chris got to know of my background with photo editing and photography as well, he gave me my 8x10 on the CD I purchased. Which I thought was great because I could retouch it myself, and wasn't made to feel pressured to get the retouched 8x10 for an additional fee. He was even cool enough to give me the pictures I purchased in raw (Hi-Res) format, since I had worked with them before. With the Groupon deal being $40/1hr session & a CD of all images taken. As a Graphic Designer I thought that was an absolute steal, but after the shoot I found out that the CD was only for low res/web quality images. I was a little disappointed since I didn't see that noted in terms/conditions of the deal. If I overlooked that then of course that's on me, but I don't think I did. Also, this is the first time I've ever left any professional a negative review. I would never use Jeff as our photographer for any occasion nor endorse him or his services. He behaved very badly towards all of our family and guests. This photographer acted so unprofessionally and was unkind to every member of my family and the groom's family. He clearly did not want to be photographing that day. I understand having bad days, but a wedding day is a once in a lifetime experience and he cast such an incredibly poor example, both the bride's family and the groom's were appalled and sorely disappointed. We literally had one of the most beautiful wedding venues in this county and unfortunately, Sharpe Photography was the only vendor that we regretted using. When we met this man in his office in Roseville, he was pretty nice although he seemed to have a strong interest in his weddings overseas. Perhaps this should have been a red flag, but we all agreed he seemed fairly sincere and hoped he would do a nice job. Unfortunately, the photographs and his work reflected his whole bad mood he was in that day. Everything was mediocre at best - there was no special touch in any of the photographs we received. He missed taking so many of the pictures we requested. We actually ended up depending on guest who used their iphones to get some of the pictures we had hoped to be done by our hired photographer.
