When I am traveling for work I am always happy to find a place with a nice salad bar and good vegetables. So I was thrilled to find a Ponderosa here. The salad bar was excellent, all items were fresh and there was a good selection. I love vegetables, and there were plenty to choose from: mashed potatoes, corn, sweet potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, baked carrots, green beans, and more. Service was friendly and fast. My glass was kept full, and the server checked back with me frequently. There are both tables and booths, and they were kept clean. I appreciated that hand sanitizer was available at each end of the hot bar and salad bar. Hot, fresh rolls were available and were delicious. Stopped out of pure nostalgia. Really clean and food was being watched over attentively. Quite a few things we had were overcooked to a point of being inedible. Corn and green beans were long overdue. Stuffing was yeasty and rather disgusting. What they called blackberry cobbler was pretty unimpressive. The blackberry and peach cobbler as well as a few other dishes. Looked like pastry had been laid on top of pie filling. Some stuff was decent. But not enough to warrant another trip. Our waitress was amazing. Her name was Mindy. We were there during the lunch crowd. They were busy, but, she was always smiling and cheerful. She checked on us often and cleared the table frequently. Only 18 Ponderosas left in the US so I had to stop at this one when I found it on Yelp. Nostalgia was definitely driving my interest but it was not like the old one I grew up with. It was a buffet with a great variety of things on it. The food was great and the buffet was clean. The restaurant was well styled and was reasonably priced. I would recommend especially if you have kids who are a little picky. It was super easy to please mine here and they loved the selection of desserts at the end of their meal. read more

From the 80's music nostalgia to 25 cent coin machines for the kids, to the amazing buffet items, food, and waitress I am a completely satisfied. Like a total blast from the past, taking me back to the days when food quality didn't matter to me. As expected with any buffet chain restaurant like Ponderosa/Bonanza (owned by Fat Brands, Inc. - hmmmm), a lot of the food was dry and sitting there for a while. It's no wonder why a lot of all-you-can-eat places have closed or gone to the crapper. ONLY issue is you seat yourself which in turn, servers can't get to you in a timely manner. Our server came to our table ONCE, with a dirty/full bus tub and said, "I guess you're one of my tables??" We've been going to Ponderosa since we moved to this area because it's the most reasonably priced restaurant offering a senior buffet, complete with drink. However, almost every time we've gone, the food has been either room temperature or completely cold!!!! We've informed the wait staff every time, and every time they say they'll let the manager know, but apparently either no one has talked to the manager, or management doesn't care because the food is consistently underheated. It's a testament to how good the food is that we keep going, despite the coldness of the food, but perhaps by posting a Yelp! review, management will finally learn that it needs to either turn up the heat on its buffet tables or fix whatever's wrong with the tables because there are a lot of senior citizens who eat there, and underheated food can cause many food-borne illnesses. I'll be honest, this place used to be amazing. Now, it's just overpriced cheap food. There is no quality on their buffet. It also used to be reasonable. $25-30 would cover it. We hadn't ate here since the pandemic started and finally decided to give it a try tonight. The amount of selection they had was reduced about 30%. And the price was way up. $20/person for a buffet and drink is absolutely outrageous for what they serve. Waitress was very friendly and she made sure she took care of us. Service was lacking last night, the ice cream machine was really messed up made a loud noise, after we brought it to the attention of one of the employees they dismissed it and didn't seem to be interested in fixing it. She seemed to be more interested in goofing off with her coworkers than trying to find a solution to fixing the ice cream machine. Just like I remember it. Building looks as if it's been remodeled in the near future and was cozy and clean. The one in my hometown closed over ten years ago and really miss it. It was well worth an hour drive for my family and I to have a nice meal. The buffet had something for everybody. I ordered steak tips which were cooked to perfection. We went on Sunday afternoon and they were very busy but the staff did an excellent job of waiting tables and keeping the buffet stocked. I will definitely make the trip again. read more

The only thing this place has going is the large amount of different kinds of food being served on the buffet for a a little over $10. Nothing special, its AYCE(all you can eat) so its not a bad deal. do not get the tips.(sirloin tips i think) it was awful when i got it. i can probably chew leather easier there is no sear to it. Weird place. You walk in and can order a steak meal plus a buffet or just the buffet. I got a 10oz ribeye medium. I get better quality meat a grocery store and it was over cooked at that.
