Love the vibe, quite, peaceful. All vegetarian buffet, all you can eat for $13-$14. In a setting of a monastery (? I need to find out). Can't help but chill out based on the music. Food ranges from spicy to bland, spinach, beans, rice, veggies, about what you'd expect. Plus deserts, which weren't to my taste. They've been around for ~9 years. Facility is epic, Worth a try.

    Vegan Wednesday. So delicious

Absolutely incredible gem in Houston. Delicious, fresh, and incredibly flavorful vegetarian or vegan cuisine in a spotlessly clean venue with excellent service. I feel healthier after the first bite. Such a unique location and experience. Highly recommend

We love having Govinda's in our usual rotation of places to eat. It's a lovely vegetarian/vegan buffet near Independence Heights area. The service is warm and friendly. They offer fresh hot chapati while you're eating. I've heard great things about their samosas as well. The ambiance is very zen and calm. Always a great meal here when we want a break from meat.

    One of my favorites!

Vegan, and happened to be in the Houston area. I actually drove a half an hour to get to this location. Plenty of parking, friendly staff and amazing food. They do vegan three times a week. I'll tell you the flavors are amazing. I sometimes get turned off by all you can eat buffets, but this is got to be the one of the best buffets for a vegan to have! Totally will return and definitely not turned off by buffets any longer. Lol.

Govinda's vegetarian cuisine location was easy to see from far away! The parking lot was empty on a Saturday afternoon but a bit far from the entrance. Food was delicious and they had lots of options! There is a large board explaining their herbs and spices and their uses. There were people on the entrance lawn selling Ghee and Khichdi. We were able to see the temple inside after we ate. Waiters were very friendly and attentive with fresh naan. Decor was mismatched and chaotic (pics from Feb 2024) but I haven't taken pics since then. The the area was peaceful and there was much to enjoy.

Got to try one food item from this restaurant today! Had a pick up appointment at 11:30 AM and they gave me the order right away! Twas Daal and so delicious Vegetarian friendly location and highly recommended! Cheers

    Today's Aug 16 Vegatarian buffet.

The vegatarian buffet is delicious and reasonable priced. The Soup I have grown quite found of. Plenty different dishes to choose from with a description of each that I find helpful. Also I can count on my favorite Saag Paner being served. If you want your server to get their tip, leave it on the table.

Attempting to be a healthier eater in 2024, I am so happy to have discovered Govinda's! This vegetarian buffet is affordable and clean. Their buffet options change daily and the bread is made from scratch. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to myself and friend group. I wasn't a tofu fan until trying their tofu chicken - so good! Sometimes "healthy" food isn't very filling, however the buffet setup ensured no one left hungry. Parking is available onsite in a lot across the street. The building and walk-up to Govinda's was stunning. This is the perfect spot to enjoy a healthy meal and relaxing ambiance!

I've been meaning to try Govinda's and I was happy I finally did! The parking lot is located across the street from the restaurant entrance. Look for the red awning for the entrance! I ordered a mango lassi to drink with my meal. Today (Tuesday) was a vegetarian menu, which was more up my alley than the vegan items. On Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays - they only serve vegan items. Service was very good and the employees were so nice, even for being a buffet. You can also order desserts or samosas for an additional price on top of the buffet price. Def swing by for some delicious Indian vegan/vegetarian food!

I hadnt been at Govindas since before COVID and some things don't change for the good... still GREAT ambiance, delicious vegetarian/vegan food buffet snd such a pleaser service! I dont recall the name of the actual dishes that we ate but we went on Tuesday, which was vegetarian buffet. They have Vegan buffet Wed-Fri-Sun. The buffet consists on vast options of salad toppings, 4-5 options of vegetarian dishes, 2-3 options of soups, 2-3 options of sauces or chutneys , and 2-3 sweets. Plus the crispy bread and table flatbread. The price of less than $16 dlls is UNBEATABLE for the service and food. Everything was truly tasty, full or distinctive aromatics and flavours from Indian food. Some dishes had a kick of spice but certainly not overpowering! They bring you warm freshly made whole wheat flatbread to your table and they offer you house made drinks like tea, chai and DELICIOUS mango lassi. Overall, it reiterated the previously good experiences i have had before Covid. It will surely continue to be a favorite of mine on the vegetarian/vegan side.

We picked up our order about 3-4 minutes after getting the "ready" text and it was still before the estimated pickup time, but the food honestly wasn't that warm which is wild because everytime I pick up Indian food from any place even if I am a bit late it is piping hot or pretty hot. I don't think they even have a heat lamp or have the AC on too high. The smell of garlic when we walked in had me excited, but unfortunately the garlic naan ended up being the best part of the meal. We ordered medium spice since we were sharing with a younger family member who likes spice but doesn't want to sweat through dinner like we do. What we didn't expect was how sweet everything would be. The tikka masala tasted like sweet yogurt with a little garam masala for color. The chicken vindaloo was even more confusing. Vindaloo is usually tangy and vinegary, but this one was also sweet. It honestly tasted more like sweet tomato sauce than anything resembling a vindaloo. Nothing tasted bad in a spoiled sense, it was just very Americanized and very very sweet. The two stars are for three things: the clean location, the fast friendly service, and the garlic naan. If you have a very mild palate or prefer sweet food, you might enjoy this place. But if you're hoping for bold, tangy, flavorful Indian food, this probably won't be it.

The biryani tasted good, the butter chicken tasted good, and the deviled eggs were interesting. The serving sizes aren't worth the price. The butter chicken container was about half full and the biryani just over half. To put it in perspective, there were only two pieces of chicken in the biryani, with the rest of the space filled by a single potato, and the butter chicken had just a handful of pieces. I'm not sure if this is because I'm used to traditional Indian restaurants and this is clearly a fusion place, but the standard expectation is a full container. The bigger issues, though, are these: the naan is a standard frozen variety that is fairly small and you can find at most Indian grocery stores, so charging $3 for a single piece feels excessive. We also found hair in our food. Service was good, though everything we ordered was to-go rather than dine-in. Overall, the experience was underwhelming and I would not go back.

The Jupiter breakfast was $21 & the GF French toast was about $12 with $4 fruit cup. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my GF French toast. The mock-tail mule was nothing special for $9 of juice :/. In total we spent $58 which is a lot in our opinion. By all means it's not a bad spot and I'm sure other things you are good, but this was just our experience with what we got. There is a statue of a deity in the front of the restaurant & I welcome the Holy Spirit to come upon them all :). May Jesus be with them with eyes to see and ears to hear. There may be other gods but there is only one God, King Jesus Christ Isaiah 43:10-28 God bless

Kiran's was fabulous. Food and service were exceptional. The only annoyance was the parking garage…read more They have a time limit (not clearly disclosed) which can cause you to pay twice for parking. My suggestion is to not pay with your mobile phone and simply pay upon exiting the garage. Kirby Grove (Winpark) was not helpful.

This rating and review is solely on the afternoon tea. As far as my thoughts on the…read moremeals/restaurant food, I still stand by my previous review. Eventhough the Chai was so bad last time that I figured I wouldn't even come back for afternoon tea, we came back for afternoon tea. But it really was only bc we had credits to use from the Chase credit card deal ans this was one of the covered places. The chai did not taste like soap this time, thankfully. It was actually very close to how my parents make it. So I liked it and had like 3 cups of it. I did the gluten free afternoon tea. It was pretty good except for dessert. But even that didn't bother me too much just bc by that point I was stuffed and I add sugar to my chai. I got the gluten free afternoon tea. It was good mostly. The scone was really good. The cucumber sandwich was very bland and the curried crab was fishy and bland. The deviled egg was too mustard-y. And the dessert were all bad, maybe frozen and just not good tasting (there were only 3 small ones). We got there at 1:15 and we were seated in the back, pretty far from the harpist. Our server was kind of rude and seemed swamped.
