Friendly service and solid coffee. Funny location behind the Sheriff's office, order at a window.

Came here because we were looking for a French brunch spot, and at first it felt like a great find…read more We were greeted upon arrival, and the menu offered so many options that placing the order took a bit of time (we had five items for two people). While ordering at the counter, I needed to make a quick adjustment after getting confused about one of the items. During that moment, a 'white' gentleman was waiting behind me, and instead of simply acknowledging him with "I'll be with you shortly," the lady staff apologized to him for my delay in ordering (according to her). Shortly after, while I was still in the middle of ordering and asking about tea options, she abruptly moved on to take his order without any explanation or communication. The interaction felt dismissive and uncomfortable as well I felt strong I am treated with racism, especially in the condition when I was pregnant who crave all good food.... As for the food, most of it was enjoyable. The scrambled eggs on the croissant and the pancakes were well done. However, the onion soup was overly salty, likely due to the cheese which was in the soup and also on the bread. Another downside, especially as first-time visitors, was the lack of guidance. We weren't informed that water was self-serve, and only realized it after noticing another guest getting it themselves. Interestingly, when leaving, we saw staff pouring water for newly seated guests, which added to the inconsistency. Overall, the food showed effort from the kitchen, but the service experience was disappointing. The 2-star rating is mainly in appreciation of the quality of the dishes. Cafe is quite small and we felt hot, as there's only a portable AC that couldn't accommodate that size of room. Not recommended place, even this is one of the rarest cafe in town. Rather to spend money to somewhere worthy and respect you as guest, no matter what roots you have.

We reached here an hour before closing and we did ask them if they're still taking orders. They mentioned they're still serving food so we sat down thinking we are going to get nice steaks before ending our vacation. We ordered a Newyork Steak - rare done with two sides (mushrooms and mac n cheese) and the butter garlic stir fry plate and an shrimp coconut appetizer. And before we know it, food came in like less than 5 minutes, which was oddly strange, since to cook all this food it should ideally take at 10-15 minutes at least. First thing we wanted to eat was our rare steak that we picked this restaurant for. But instead we got the steak that was more of than well done which was very leathery to eat. We couldn't even finish rest of the food since it felt like microwaved food coming out from the kitchen. On top of that when we mentioned about the steak, they said they will discount the price and we thought since we didn't got what we asked for it won't be charged but we had to pay for the price of steak which was not honest at all. If you don't know how make a proper steak then don't serve it or don't ask ' how would you like your steak'. Calling it a steakhouse is not justified, when you're not serving people what they asked for and still have to pay for it. I would never go back again. Worst service we got. If the place couldn't take us for food they should've told us and we could have gone somewhere else to eat. Very very disappointed.
