This is the first time my wheaten terrier got a full groom. They are so nice and friendly there. I usually expect him to be there at least 3 hours. They were done in 1 hour and he looked perfect! I can be picky at times because he is the best boy!

Warning to Pet Owners: Our Dogs Were Harmed at This Grooming Salon This is only the second review I've ever written, but after what happened to our dogs, I feel morally obligated to speak out. If you love your pets, please take this seriously. About 8-9 months ago, my husband and I moved to Citrus Heights and brought home a toy poodle named Casper. Later, we welcomed our black lab, Luke. Casper is the heart of our home -- playful, affectionate, and full of life. Because toy poodles need regular grooming due to their curly, sensitive coats, we found Poodle Nook, which appeared reputable and specialized in poodles. Jay, the groomer, seemed professional at first. We brought both dogs in about four times each, always providing clear instructions and photos of how we wanted them groomed. Three days ago, we dropped them off for their usual appointments. What we got back was heartbreaking and disturbing. Casper came home with: A large gash on his nose Cuts between his thighs A cut on his penis His testicles were severely red, swollen, and inflamed His underbelly was extremely red and irritated He began refusing to walk on his back legs, would not urinate or defecate, and cried constantly Luke, our lab, had: A large chunk of hair missing from his tail A visible wound on the side of his neck, exposing raw skin These injuries were horrifying and completely unprecedented. We called our vet the next day and explained what happened. Over the phone, they advised us to go to PetSmart and purchase a medicated cream to apply to Casper's affected areas and to get a cone to prevent him from licking his wounds. We've followed all of their instructions closely while monitoring him round the clock, but unfortunately, his condition has only worsened. When we contacted Jay at the salon, he casually blamed a "new razor" and dismissed the injuries as razor burn. He showed no sympathy, offered no refund, and made a sarcastic remark: "It's not like Casper's legs are broken." When my husband followed up, Jay lied and claimed Luke was "going bald," which is completely false. We take before-and-after photos of our dogs with every visit, and Luke had no such issue before entering the salon. This was clearly an attempt to deflect responsibility. Jay also tried to blame Casper for licking his wounds, even though we had already been using a cone, applying the vet-recommended cream, and watching him closely. He took no responsibility, told us to deal with his insurance, and has repeatedly refused to provide any contact information for that insurance. This morning -- three days after the grooming -- I discovered cuts near Casper's anus, which likely explain why he still refuses to use the restroom. His condition has worsened daily. We have an emergency vet appointment at 4:30 PM today. When I reached out again today to ask for a refund, explaining that we were completely unprepared for a vet bill and the emotional toll this has taken, the salon refused, stating that they would not issue any refund because "they did perform the haircut" -- despite the injuries and the fact that the grooming did not match the style we requested. In that same message, they also told us that they no longer want any further communication from us and that we should deal with their insurance directly -- again, without giving us any actual insurance contact information, despite multiple requests. We paid over $225 expecting professional grooming, safety, and care. Instead, we were met with dishonesty, negligence, and trauma. Even when past appointments didn't match the haircut we asked for, we kept returning because we believed, above all, that our dogs were safe. That trust has now been completely shattered. Our dogs can't speak for themselves -- so we must. Please take this review seriously. I will be sharing photos and our full communication with the salon to document everything. What happened to Casper and Luke is inexcusable. No pet -- and no family -- should ever go through this.

The Nook groomers are fantastic and true artists! Super friendly, and great pricing... was my puppy's first trim and they handled my wild beasty like champs!

Jay took care of my pups as if they were his own!! My dogs feel so fluffy and clean! I have two huskies so they can be dramatic and Jay knew what to do with them. Definitely coming back since my dogs love Jay!

We drove down Antelope (from the direction of the freeway) and left onto Mariposa, and there was her shop. It was easy to find. As we walked in, there was a couch, a counter, with a grooming table, with dog cages behind her. It was a tight space, but she makes it work. I felt comfortable leaving Scamp with her because with our small quick chat, it was wonderful to hear she loves what she does. Scamp is a meduim size Terrier mix, and when we dropped him off at 2:45, she let us know he would be done at 5 pm. When we arrived at 5 p.m., Amy was doing the finishing touches on Scamp! He looked so adorable! We wanted his hair cut short but not down to his skin, and his facial features trimmed. He was so happy to see my sister & I! As she finished, I love how she talked to him as she trimmed him up. The cost of Scamp was $60. We also have Amy a tip. Scamp looked pretty amazing. He was bathed, his nails trimmed, and he smelled like watermelon, lol! Thank you, Amy! We will see you again soon!

Horrible pet salon, we always take my dog here to get his haircuts and it never went bad up until…read morethis recent time. My dad picked my dog up, Stephanie the manager was the one who cut his hair and when he got picked up all she mentioned was how "he was just a little nervous" and that was all. No mention about the wound or dry blood on his fur. The two days after I noticed my dog was acting odd and unusual anytime someone pet him he cried and seemed like he was hurt, at first I thought it might've been a random injury within because there was nothing wrong with how he was walking just a little more bit scared than usual. Then around third day I came home from work and sat on the floor to greet him and pet him sure gently just putting my hand over his head to back massaging very delicately, and when I passed his head he cried and I also felt a hard scab like thing. I then told my dad and aimed the flashlight on his head to see what it was and all we could see was dry blood and the screenshot within the last image provided was what we saw. We think only knew it was due from his haircut because he had only been acting weird after coming back and crying randomly. We then went to the salon the next day early opening and brought him so we can see and they immediately tried defending there staff, yes apologized for the very least and offered to either clean it up as best they can right now or go to any vet place to help him further more. They also mentioned the charges would fully be covered so we took him to the vet the day after and they told us theyd have to sedate him which was super scary knowing he just turned 13 years old, and not only that they mentioned the cut was analyzed as a blade cut from the haircut gear they use and that the cut was one centimeter deep and width in size. The cut was also infected due to the time passed since after his haircut and it would've all been significantly less traumatizing and less painful for my dog if they would've just told us the mistake that occurred. If it was said day of it wouldn't have been infected nor needed so much more to go through but the manager Stephanie didn't wanna take accountability clearly. I understand mistakes happen but you were with animals these are peoples children please speak up even if it was a big mistake! Not only that after my dad sent the billing like they said to send the billing of and they were denying it fighting against paying it. The craziest part is the pet salon said that the vet told them it was a "bump" not a razor blade cut and so my dad had to call the vet place and ask if they got called by a certain number which was the salon and said they never called and never said that. After so much back and forth with a few days passing of them fighting against trying to pay the charges the vet was in contact with the pet salon and at the end the pet salon paid up. Which was super embarrassing, how are you gonna fight against paying for one of ur clients injuries you guys caused. If anything you guys should be quick to accepting to help after hurting our dog. We also asked for the footage and the owner kept trying to say he couldn't because he had to protect his employees as if their employees were the ones who got hurt. You guys genuinely are heartless and lack so much accountability and sympathy, cant image working at a pet place and hurting a dog and denying to show the film, paying to help, and even fighting against a case like this. Also if you "can't show the film to protect ur employees" what is there protecting for if you guys are claiming there was no harm done. You guys are horrendous.
