No problem with 3. but 2. not so good: I was supposed to pay an extra $75 for "Green to Clean" treatment to deal with algae. The algae remained so the problem was now my pool pump and sand filter, fixable for only $2000. No thanks. But the real problem was 1. The whole experience was only a month and a half long. First month, OK, pool guy here on Thursday in the afternoon. Second month, time changes. OK, I will work with that. Final week: Appointment on Thursday, no show on Thursday. Appointment on Friday. No show on Friday. Appointment on Saturday. No show on Saturday, Text to ask if Sunday was OK, Yes, but what time? Three texts and phone calls later, no time ever suggested. At 5:48 PM Sunday, text, "I'm here to clean your pool". Yeah, well, the dogs were in the yard and I was having dinner with a friend. NOT OK. I called and texted repeatedly Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. Finally I got a text on Thursday that they would be there that afternoon. Nope. Then Dave, the pool guy, called and started shouting at me accusing me of making things hard for them (!). I told him the service was no longer required and told him to have a bill sent to me, thanked him and hung up. HE CALLED ME BACK, STILL HOLLERING AT ME! Then I get a text copy of the bill and demands for immediate payment. I thought I was hiring a pool service company, not a theatrical one. Avoid!

Trevor is to be commended for his detailed approach and follow through as well as follow up and communication with me. He likely saved me over a thousand dollars due to avoiding a fried pump. Our daughter who is an architect, drew up a design for us and Sal's designer perfected our vision. Sal was always willing to give to give us his professional suggestions in areas we were not sure about. Everything from beginning to end went very smooth. His crew was very professional, efficient and always communicated with us. Sal's crew also landscaped our backyard with concrete designs and artificial turf. The landscaping turned out great and we have no complaints about with the work Backyard Pools did.

I decided to give these guys a shot and see how they did, and when they first started my pool was very green. In 2 weeks they had my pool crystal clear and it has been that way ever since, even after a hard rain which was when I always had problems in the past. Always had a strong chlorine smell before and now we can barely smell the chlorine and our skin can tell the difference. I also have kept track of my pool chemical expense for the past years and the monthly fixed cost is hundreds less than I have spent in prior years. I gladly give Aquaclear an A+, 5 Star rating, a good value for my pool dollars. Swimming pools need to be kept in balance and the system will, in time, need to be repaired, upgraded or replaced. All equipment has a maintenance schedule and a service life, poor maintenance will shorten your replacement cycle. Bob has a lot of years in the business and knows what kind of problems I might have in the immediate and long term and keeps me informed of what I need to do to maintain performance. His participation in a few of the Pool Industry Associations keeps him abreast of the latest technologies and equipment so the information he gives me reflects what is new in the field and what does or doesn't work well. He has proven to be a reliable source and is currently designing me a system to replace my old one. I bought this house (and pool) when I was living out of state.
