Do not use if you have an above ground pool. They do not care about you at all. We bought a…read moreheater from them. When they closed the pool they didn't empty the water and blamed us that the heater needed to be replaced and so we ordered a new one. They said it was due to our chemicals, which were always balanced. They installed the new heater and cut the liner which caused a leak. They told us they didn't do it. They didn't have time to fix it as their son got hurt. The pool wasn't leaking before the large cut in the liner where they installed the liner. They decided to come out to repair the liner. It didn't work. It was a bunch of blue goop brushed on. Again, they told us it was our problem and the people that installed the pool. I had a pool leak rest of the summer. I didn't pay the second half of the heater as my pool was leaking. They refused to fix it. I had two companies out here to look at the damage. This leak was not due to the original installation. It was from the install of the new heater where the tear was and the repair didn't work. It was an obvious slice where they installed the heater. Also when these companies came and looked at the old heater and they could tell the water wasn't emptied out of the heater when they closed the pool. Communication is horrible, they don't respond. The one gentleman who helps with chemicals is phenomenal, but other than that, the emails they sent me were mean. I paid for the other half of the heater as I had no choice. It was costly for me to continue fighting for a liner. Find another source if you can. They do not care about their customers and they take no responsibility for their work. They only have time for their in ground customers.

We were in need of a replacement liner for our aboveground pool, so I started shopping around for…read morepreferred vendors on Yelp and similar sites. Out of 5 vendors I reached out to, only 3 responded. 2 of the 3 respondents were very vague in their quotes and their pricing seemed outrageously high. They also entirely dodged and discounted my request for an onsite visit to confirm exact specs and conditions. Jeff from Universal Services was the only respondent who seemed genuinely interested in the job and seemed very knowledgeable and eager to help. Jeff was extrememely friendly and thorough on the phone, and had no issue what-so-ever making an onsite visit to review our needs and take a thorough look at the condition of the pool and the pump. Jeff beat the prices of the other bidders by a hefty margin and also included in his bid the task of cleaning, testing, replacing seals and reconnecting the pump and filter. The other vendors wanted to tack on additional hefty fees for this service. I also much appreciated Jeff's system of allowing the customer (me) to purchase the liner myself in order to find the best price and avoid an upcharge. He was simply providing the service of installation and setup. Jeff located the correct size for me through an online vendor at the best price and I ordered the liner to be delivered direct to my home. The day the liner came in I called Jeff and he was out the same day to install it. Jeff arrived with his colleague Mike and they both executed the install in a timely fashion and with a high quality finished product. Jeff and Mike were a great team and were very pleasant to interact with. We were so happy with their work my wife even brought them inside the house to take a look at our unfinished basement and inquired about a quote to have it framed out and drywalled. The name "Universal Services" implies that they are open to most any handyman job and skilled in many trades. Jeff worked in the pool install and service business for many years and it shows, they did a fantastic job! I think personalized customer service is the number one attribute of Universal Services and fair and honest pricing would be their second. I enjoyed interacting with Jeff and Universal from the beginning and they made the process of replacing our pool liner seamless and simple! Thanks Jeff and Mike and best of luck to you! Your business model is perfect and it should take you far! Look for Universal Services as a reputable service provider on "Service Magic" as well!

Our project was proposed as a 10 day installation but stretched to over 190 days before CPG/BO abandoned their project. CPG/BO repeatedly failed to adhere to their contract, industry standards, manufacture requirements and building codes, causing extensive damage and financial loss. Fill dirt was placed in an unapproved location, and our septic field was repeatedly driven over, costing us $3,000 to correct. Excavation was performed incorrectly, causing pool shell warpage that Latham later confirmed was due to installer error, not manufacturing defects. Required daylight drainage was falsely claimed to be impossible; a third party later proved adequate fall more than existed, costing us an additional $6,600 to correct. Improper backfilling of steps and seats, $2,700 to patch the skimmer hole cut in twice at the incorrect height, installation of the incorrect skimmer type, and incorrect/faulty plumbing all placed our manufacturer warranty at risk. Electrical, plumbing, and gas lines were left out of code compliance, including missing tracer wire. A safety check valve was removed, causing the pool heater to explode and damaging additional equipment. Purchased equipment was damaged, missing, improperly installed, or later found to be used rather than new. An auto cover costing $18.5K, we only received the incorrectly assembled storage box & damaged tracts. A $2,500 diving board was damaged and incomplete, completely unusable. CPG/BO stopped showing up as they got further in over their capabilities, attempted to rewrite the contract to remove their liability while demanding additional pre-completion payments when we had already paid in full, and ultimately completely abandoned the project. Independent inspection estimates revel over $98,000 in repairs and excavation corrections are needed. We have paid over $100,000 already in this project and must now start over due solely due to CPG/BO's negligence and deception. There is more disappointment but I have exceeded Yelp's character limits... In closing, you will be money ahead to avoid this company at all costs.
