We were reluctant but did it in light of the holiday season. We were told the hot tub would come multiple times. Sometimes it was valid (e.g., winter weather), others it wasn't. We were upfront about the location challenges, timing, coordination contacts. Long story short, after taking $11K from us, we never heard from him again around June. The hot tub never materialized. This is clearly a lesson in "if it's too good to be true then it's not". At first, we were concerned about him as a person and hoped everything was ok with him. Then after multiple outreaches from us and the person who referred him to us receiving no responses, we concluded that he was likely lying to us the whole time. The person who referred him to us also stopped receiving services as I was told Erik stopped answering him as well. I guess Erik lost multiple customers. To be fair, when we got a hold of him (infrequently between Nov '25 - Jun '26), he's a nice man and quite knowledgeable about hot tubs. However, there's no integrity in business dealing as he just stopped answering phone calls and texts. He asked for chances to make things right, and we provided chances. If he can't do something, just be upfront and honest! We filed a chargeback with our bank in hopes to recover the funds. We will be filing a police report for criminal fraud as it's over $10K and I will share it here so everyone can see all the texts, the invoices paid, and you can judge for yourself whether this is a trustworthy business or not.

I have an old wood-walled pool that has seen better days so the skimmer install was tricky. Omar and Ben came and did a great job working around the issue and installing a new leak free skimmer. Once I was able to fill the pool and get the pump working I was looking at what looked like a green swamp. However, the very knowledgeable Lisa in the water testing department recommended a 3 day regimen of chemicals which, remarkably, had the pool more or less clean in three days. Honestly, I would never have believed it. She understands the chemistry and was spot on with the solution. Of course if I'd closed the pool properly last season...lol, but I didn't, and thanks to Lisa, and Ben and Omar I am up and running before June 1st. Thanks Royal Pools!

Seven months later, they had to come back out and replace additional parts, which cost me another $1,100 over a couple of visits. Now, after all of that, I am being told the same control board they replaced nine months ago is bad again and that I need to spend another $900 to replace it. I understand warranties have time limits, but when a customer spends around $2,000 trying to get the same hot tub fixed, it is extremely frustrating to be told that a major part they recently installed has already failed and that the only option is to pay full price again. At some point, a company should stand behind its work, its diagnosis, and the parts it installs. I do want to be fair and say that Eniezer has been very professional and helpful from a customer service standpoint. My issue is not with him personally. He has been courteous and responsive. My problem is with the company's inability to properly fix the hot tub and back up the service they provided. Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about using them for any major repair.

Went into the Paramus location in early July and have been nothing short of Impressed. Frank Kaiser, the manager has helped me many times since I first ventured into the Paramus location. Most recently, he repaired my Polaris 360, that my, soon to be former pool Service company, disassembled and told be that this five year old unit could not be fixed. They offered me a new model for $800. I took this disassembled mess to Frank I expected an honest assessment of the repair or replacement of the vacuum The result, $32.00. If Frank managed a restaurant I would eat there everyday. Not all Leslie stores run the same. This is the place to go Btw. The staff is just as helpful. They have a good relationship with their clients and with Frank.

Jim, Sherry and the rest of the staff are super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Leslie's installation management is the complete opposite. Leslie's initially shipped me a pool filter instead of a heater. They refused to ship the replacement heater till they picked up the filter, which wasted a whole week. At installation time, the installer told me I had to arrange for an electrician since he was not licensed. He also was not licensed for gas installations. That was obvious since he did not know what a debris trap is or how to plumb it. I had to tell him how to properly connect the gas line. Mind you, I am the homeowner and knew more than he did about the uniformed construction codes for plumbing. Granted, the installation people who showed up were not at fault. They were as helpful, friendly, and accommodating as possible given the situation. The only reason I knew they were not licensed was because I asked for their license when it was clear there were problems with their knowledge. Now i know why Leslie's is offering free installations.

Dishonest to a point bordering on fraudulent. Incompetent. We hired the company to "open our pool".....$1000 bucks (which is ridiculous)....and they leave a note that says: "Will have to come back to finish the vac, backwash, and balance the chemicals *Pool was a bit murky, so we left the system running 25/ in service until we return" Im not sure, but sounds to me as though they didn't finish the job and they are coming back, right? NO!!!!!! I called to ask when and they said they would send someone out for and additional $500 bucks...and stupid me, I agree!!!!! because Im the type of sucker that a business like this relies on taking advantage of. So thats the end, right? NO!!!!!!! They don't show up and when I call again, its my fault!!! So now we are two weeks and about $1500 bucks into getting this pool open and still no end in sight. But is that the end? NO!!!!!!! We were charged nearly $1000 bucks to replace 15 small tiles!!! Why? IDK....perhaps they flew artisans in from Italy. $2500 bucks....15 small tiles.....and a bowl of water I can not swim in.....do yourself a favor.....find someone that has some pride in their business, some sense of value for the customer, and frankly someone that will be around next year.......because these guys will go under and deserve it. AND SHAME ON YELP FOR MAKING ME GIVE AT LEAST 1 STAR!!!!

We spent over a year trying to find a fair priced, communicative, and quality contractor who was even available to do the renovation work. We had ridiculously high quotes, quotes not itemized, blatant gouging, and folks who would not even return phone calls. Then we found Brian and Northstar Pools. From the first moments, I knew this was not your average NJ contractor. He was extremely polite, knowledgeable, humble - and clearly held to their mantra of providing only caring and customer-focused service - but he really knows his stuff on top of that! His prices were fair and enumerated in detail, so I knew exactly what I was getting. But it took a couple of months while I did more research - and during that time he was ever so patient, answered all my questions, and helped me arrive at a plan that worked. Once work started, he and his crew worked very hard and efficiently to tackle this beast of a project. As I was juggling the logistics of the other related landscaping and electrical work (and not to mention the weather), Brian was super accommodating and patient in coordinating all the work with me. When the inevitable need for plan changes occurred - Brian took everything in stride to make sure I was satisfied. The DIYer and engineer in me forced me to ask a LOT of questions as work progressed (and I mean a LOT). Brian answered every single one of them patiently and professionally - even the stupid ones. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were clearly evident. He even crawled ten feet under the new liner he just installed to remove a few pebbles that had found their way underneath - on a nice hot August day no less. Thank-you Brian and your great team for the work you did - and the manner in which you performed it. We are so blessed that we found you.
