If there is a choice for zero, I could definitely give zero!!! Stay away from this company!!! The staff changed almost every week, and service people (other than Art who stayed with company for a short period) did not take care our pool. Many time we found ourselves repeating the same problem to different people and ended up with no follow up actions. The pool is not clean at all. Even after their service, the pool is still dirty and green. See the picture! Lots of extra and unneeded maintenance costs happened because the regular cleaning is not effective. Before changing to this company, we just need regular cleaning for our pool, we did not have a green pool even one time. This year we did a lot extra and is still green most of the time. Extremely poor communication, high prices, and questionable service quality. They recently serviced the pool filter and indicated there was duct tape that could lead to catastrophic results. I would strongly advise against using Poolie for your pool service. My wife and I recently discontinued our service with Poolie to instead use Balanced Blue of Austin. Within one week of service, all the issues that Poolie said were unsolveable, and refused to try solving, were suddenly solved in less than a week. As you can see in the many photos attached below, Poolie would come to our home (often days late), to "service" our pool, and then leave photos and an email stating that the pool was clean. Instead, our pool - for roughly half the time we employed Poolie - was left looking like a science experiment. When we tried communicating that we were unhappy with service, Poolie attempted to up-charge us to "fix" the problem. Or refuse to acknowledge their mistake. Last summer, we left for vacation for two weeks. When we returned, our pool was essentially neon green, covered in black algae, and had lost roughly two feet of water. When I called Poolie to complain about this, they insisted that they had cleaned the pool. When we hired Poolie, we expected that at the very least, our pool we be cleaned. This has clearly not been the case. We have wound up with more issues to our pool having hired Poolie then we had without a pool cleaning service. We've also wound up spending thousands of dollars in up charging fees that we have recently learned were complete bs. ---- *Quick edit - Leslie, owner of Poolie, has commented. I took a look at her responses to other negative reviews (there are a lot) and they are incredibly defensive and insulting to folks who are clearly and justifiably upset by the service. But what a gift because y'all can see how poorly run this business is in real time! She said that the repairs resulted in a clean pool... As stated above and as displayed clearly in the photos below, this was certainly not the case. In fact, Poolie was so unsuccessful at resolving any issue at all that we found another company, who fixed those issues without up-charging or recommending bogus parts/labor. About the lien - something about justifying paying for a service that wasn't performed doesn't sit quite right. But I'm glad it's paid too - please use that extra cash to buy some chemicals and cleaning equipment. Lien or no lean, Leslie, y'all still can't clean a pool. read more

We tried several pool services before finding Kenny through our neighborhood support group. Kenny Hileman owner of Crown pool services makes sure that we don't have to worry about our pool. The water is clean and crystal clear he's always careful about our security and my dogs thinks he's a cool guy. There have been no hiccups with the billing and if I need an extra part he just goes and gets it for me. He also deals with all of the chemicals so I don't have to store them.In the beginning he had to consult with the manufacturer on a piece. He stayed in the loop and got the situation resolved. I hired Poolie to maintain my pool. The price was actually great! Problem: I had to call several times due to pool not being vacuumed. They caused several leaks after a filter clean, and I had to wait at least a week for them to come fix them... this was after several attempts to get them to fix their mistake. They also charged my card for the parts they broke. After I called they said it was their mistake, and they would credit my account (I am still waiting). So, the the entire time Poolie "maintained" my pool, it was green! I got sick of it and cleaned and got it back to normal. When they came back to maintain it, took pride in the fact the pool looked awesome. I had told them I had to step in and spend money on chemicals. I have so much going on in my life, I was like-let's just see if they can maintain. A couple weeks later, new tech comes and leaves my water hose on-overfilling the pool. I called and canceled that day. New manager calls, Nathan. Nice guy! Offers to maintain pool for rest of the month free and then said he would call back to try and keep me as a customer. I said I had read so many great reviews that I was willing to see what they could do. No one showed up over the month and Nathan never called back. Terrible pool service and the negative reviews are definitely true /I can relate! Unfortunately, they bought out a small pool company that serviced my pool for years- I didn't have any problems w/them, and here comes Poolie. Started off terrible, pool looked horrible, (only three years old too) but every week they would show up at a different day, a different technician, and not seem to understand what they were doing at all. I have a saltwater pool, and they couldn't figure that would treat it wrong. My pool was green for two or three weeks until they could manage it again, they have no idea what they're doing. My Polaris started malfunctioning and they told me I needed a new one. I took it to Leslie which fixed it for $25, it was just clogged. My control panel was left open a couple times and the settings I had on changed without my authorization. I started having issues with my pump. The manager name Eric said I need to spend $300 and have my salt Cell cleaned (even though recently cleaned) and my pump was in perfect working condition. (Guess they didn't see the big red flashing light). After I sent him a video, he said he needs his licensed tech to diagnose the pump- claims they r licensed but will not provide any numbers. I was very adamant that I only want a licensed Pool electrician. After reaching out to the company, bookkeeping, Eric, the "manager", emails, calls, with almost 0 response, they decide to reach out and say they're sending a licensed tech ( I don't need another tech) to come diagnose my pump (even though my real licensed electrician already did this, which I told them). The tech said my salt cell was perfectly fine, but wow looky- the pump isn't working right. This is only diagnosed after I physically went out there and showed this guy. Again, would not provide me a license number The Tech accidentally sent me the text message he was sending to the company where he was claiming the salt cell needs to be replaced and that the customer is going through an electrician to replace the pump. I actually never said any of those things. I said I contacted Pentair to see what can be done because Pookie is clueless. This is the shadiest co. They overcharge, all the technicians leave, there's a different person at your property on the wrong days, they don't communicate, they are not apologetic, they are hands-down a joke. What's even more funny is their techs contact me to try and work for me on the side multiple times. Shows u everything when employees speak bad about their bosses & are that desperate to chance getting reported and fired. It's just been a horrible experience and I would encourage anybody to use any service other than these people Servicing a pool is not that difficult,but being professional and communicating is a must. They definitely show how much they do not care about customers. The tech they sent out as a pool "mechanic". Not an electrician. Poolie has been servicing a small fountain and splash pad we have for the last year (April 2024 - March 2025). I few minor issues but overall a good experience, until this week. The small fountain we have runs daily and feeds into the underground tank for the splash pad - the fountain is decorative and is an important feature in our backyard. Two days ago the tech came as scheduled and cleaned the fountain, the filter and checked chem levels. However - after cleaning he apparently could not get the fountain restarted. He left and never said a word to us or left a note or any communication. So I called Poolie - as usual I get a VM and leave a message, I also sent them a text. One pet peeve I have is they don't return calls - they will text. Then I get an email with an estimate to come do a diagnostic service call for $162! Really? This issue occurred on their service call why should I be charged? I try again to call - VM. Then a text - they want to come out two days later - the fountain been sitting idle for three days now - it is going to start turning green. I can't wait five days for them to come diagnose a problem that started with them. This is crappy customer service. Based on the reviews I'm seeing - seems pretty typical for Poolie. Poolie has been our weekly service for several months now. In that time we have grown to love Leslie and her crew! They are efficient, friendly, professional, and the pool has never been cleaner. They recently helped with our startup after a resurfacing and installed a new timer and variable speed pump. All of the work was fast, efficient, safe and professional. From a bookkeeping standpoint all of the projects came with free estimates in advance, and there have never been any surprise charges after the work. Our pool tech sold our account to Poolie and it was a smooth transition at first with Fred servicing it each week. Then they started sending different techs each time and things went down hill. I would get after service reports with photos of a green pool. They quoted an outrageously exorbitant price to replace the hose of our vacuum (as much as a whole new vacuum costs) which was disappointing but easy enough to decline. Fortunately, they were responsive to my concerns about the pool not getting cleaned and worked to adjust the chemicals, which was nice because I was getting very frustrated. It is a tough job, especially in our Texas heat. Rio, the best service tech, always notifies me when she is on her way. I really appreciate that, as I often have my "grands" over to play in the pool. Rio checks/adjusts chemistry, vacuums, brushes, back washes, skims, cleans filters, and leaves the pool pristine. If I have questions or concerns Rio takes the time to help me. I only give them 2 stars because they were very persistent in getting in contact. They only provide services for people who sign up for ongoing maintenance so if you want help degreening the pool you are out of luck even though it is listed on their website. Instead of just telling me that up front they just kept suggesting that I sign up for ongoing pool maintenance. When I declined, they said they only do it for ongoing maintenance customers. Sometimes didn't even empty the filters, or sweep, & it needed it. Never backwashed. We have security cameras & can see how little he does. We had to replace multiple technicians coming out since they were not brushing the pool, would just be there to pour in some chemicals, scratched up our pool. I strongly advise against using Poolie for any services. They lack integrity and do not do what they promise and what we pay for. Each week they would skip vacuuming the pool just to save time. I called them every week and they'd promise to do it next time. I was told by the Service Manager that they perform all the other services so it's not a big deal. I asked to have the GM call me to discuss but he never did. I called and left a message but he never called me back. Nathan's reply compels me to update my review -- and to reiterate the one-star rating I gave Poolie. I stand by everything in my original review, and I am disappointed that Nathan felt the need to try to re-characterize my review in a way that he must think will make his company look better. His response is incredibly disingenuous. There were no budgetary issues that prevented Poolie from doing the tasks I requested of them, and no one at Poolie ever said they couldn't do all of the tasks that I requested. In fact, Nathan's response is the first time anyone at Poolie said they could not do all of the tasks on my list. Instead, they simply never even attempted a couple of the tasks that I had in my very detailed original e-mail to them in which I requested confirmation that they did all of those services and requested an estimate. Even now, I am not sure exactly which tasks Nathan is saying Poolie wasn't qualified to do -- which, by the way, if I had known in advance I would have kept searching for a pool repair company who could actually fully repair my pool. In fact, Nathan asked me to (in his words) "shoot me over what we didn't finish and I'll personally figure out how we get your to-do list checked off". It is both disappointing that he didn't know what they hadn't finished at the time he sent that e-mail and, in retrospect, that he didn't tell me at that time that they couldn't do all of the tasks on my list in the first place. Again, his reply to my original review is incredibly disingenuous, especially because he says this in the reply: "I hate leaving customers with unresolved issues when I know with 100% certainty we could have taken this to the finish line for you." How could they have gotten me to the "finish line" if they don't even provide the services they were hired to do? And finally, let me end by challenging the notion that things would have been better if only Nathan had known of the issues I was having. The implication, I suppose, is that I should have tried to go around the Poolie representatives that Poolie assigned to deal with me in order to try to find someone else at Poolie who could do a better job. What an interesting position to take -- i.e., the customer should have tried harder to complain to someone different. I have several e-mails and texts with the only Poolie employees I knew of that clearly show my complaints over roughly three weeks. The fact that they didn't tell Nathan is not my fault. And yes, I declined Nathan's request to let them try again to finish the work because I was tired of the weeks of trying to get them to do the work they agreed to perform and wanted to move on to a better service provider. I also declined his offer of (in his words) "a discount towards that final invoice since we failed to deliver on the services at our own standards. I won't sleep well knowing we charged you full price for bargain priced service." So, again, I give Poolie one star. read more

Hired them to fix a a couple of issues. They made my issues worse. Now my hot tub doesn't work . Seemed pretty simple but they replaced a part that doesn't work . The maintenance repair man told me how much experience he had in Houston . This company sucks !!!!!! No return phone call from the owner or manager. Buyer beware of this fraudulent company. What a joke . One guy told me to calm down . If you offer a repair service, then know your trade asshole . And Poolie also did the inspection on the pool and found one issue.
