The process is typical for Camp Bow Wow of requiring new-camper interview prior to board/day camp. The interview process requires the pawrent to stay at the facility approx. 30 minutes while your pups' temperament/socialization skills are evaluated. If given the green light, pup is required to stay for a few hours of play. Staff is very helpful and caring towards the pups. They are also very efficient with the check-in/out processes. The facility seems clean and well -organized. There is an adjacent parking lot. Reservations and sharing records is now very easy via the Camp Bow Wow app, which also allows you to view your pups while they are in the playrooms and establish reservations with any of the camp Bow Wow locations. This location is quite a drive for me, but I have yet to find any other place who I trust to care for my precious pups when I have to be away for several days!

When I picked him up, his toenails had been cut down below the quick on multiple toes and were bleeding profusely. This indicates a severe lack of care and training, compounded by performing a painful procedure without owner consent. I complained to the staff immediately about the pain and distress this caused my puppy. Incident 2: Mismanagement of Play and Unapproved Confinement Despite the initial injury, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and brought him back. I picked him up to find he had been isolated and crated for the final three hours of the day. The staff claimed this was because he was "targeting a puppy." I reviewed the video footage they provided and confirmed that the behavior they labeled as "targeting" was clearly rough, energetic play--not aggression. For a professional daycare facility, misinterpreting normal puppy play and confining him for three hours instead of actively managing the group or separating him into a smaller, supervised area shows a complete lack of necessary skill and accountability. The combination of causing a preventable, unauthorized injury and then failing to provide the core service (socialization and supervised play) demonstrates a serious lack of professional care and judgment. I requested a full refund for both failed services. I boarded my dog Mishka here while attending my sister's funeral one of the most difficult times in my life. The photos they sent showed Mishka looking terrified and unwell, but they kept saying she was "doing great." I asked four times for my emergency contact (my nephew, who has a close bond with her) to visit and check on her. They denied every request. I also asked that she be walked, and they didn't cooperate. I noticed in two or three playtime photos that she was on a leash, and when I asked why, they said it was for her safety because she's a jumper but isn't this supposed to be a place designed for dogs to play? When I picked her up, she was dirty, had visible signs of diarrhea, and her ribs were showing. A vet confirmed she had lost over 13% of her body weight and suspected stress from boarding as the cause. At first, the facility said they would review covering the vet bill then later refused. Instead of taking responsibility, they focused on silencing my experience.

Alex showed up on time and with treats which Tigger loved. He took the time to hear about Tigger's needs and regular day-to-day activity and made recommendations for his walks - as I was to go out of town that weekend. They have an app I could download letting me know exactly what time the walker arrived and left, showed a map of where they walked Tigger, his bathroom activity and even pictures - letting me know that he was okay - every single day. They are a boutique grooming studio in South End. Booking an appointment online was quick and easy. When I arrived for my appointment, Nikki was ready to take Miles. We did a quick consult for what he needed and then she was off to do her thing. I picked up Miles an hour later and he looked so good and he smelled so good. Nikki did a great job with his hair cut and also getting him acclimated to grooming since he's a puppy and had never experienced grooming before. Nikki was very loving with Miles. I'm highly satisfied with their service and with his bath and cut. They are definitely going to be my permanent groomers. Also they have a store front and they do mobile grooming for an additional fee.

One of my friends works occasionally for Happy Tails, so I asked her her thoughts on it (she lives too far to make frequent visits to our house). She highly recommended Happy Tails outside of working for them, so we decided to give them a shot. We were a little reluctant giving a total stranger the key to our house, not to mention putting the well-being of our furry children in their hands, but we had to do something. The owner, Shelly, took care of the arrangements and we met Jason, who would be watching our pets and house during our absence. Jason seemed very nice and we liked that he had two dogs of his own. Upon our return, we were VERY impressed that Jason had not only looked after our pets, but sat with the dog for 1/2 an hour each time so he wasn't locked up in his crate all day, gave the one cat his medication twice daily, rotated leaving lights on in the house so it didn't look totally deserted, scooped the litterbox (even though we told him it wouldn't be necessary for the length of time we'd be gone), and even took out the garbage! Jason (and Happy Tails) went above and beyond our expectations, and it was cheaper than using the kennel, we were able to see the dog right when we got home (instead of waiting for kennel hours), someone looked after our house, and we didn't have to pull double-duty with the dog one place and the cats in another. What a great service and end to our trip! For our longer out-of-town trips when we feel guilty asking friends to make so many visits, we'll definitely use Happy Tails again.
