We picked up some fun toys I haven't seen endlessly elsewhere, including a nifty rubbery crawfish throw toy that I think will blow our kitty's mind. Pet supplies has some good deals from time to time. I supported them for years with my two dogs. Treats, toys, food, prescriptions. They mailed me a 25% off grooming coupon. I'd never used their service so I gave them a try. Firstly they didn't even apply my coupon at checkout. I asked about it ahead of time and they took the coupon from me and a said they couldn't apply another discount because they already took $10 off for not trimming his nails! They even called and asked to charge me an EXTRA $30 for more time on my dog, and they didn't trim his nails?! I tipped the groomer because is this their fault? I felt bad not tipping. When I reached out via email about all these issues, they argued with me for a week. Then they said there was no coupon for 25% off grooming. I told them to review their own marketing because they sent TWO postcards advertising this. Then they said I'd have to come into the store to get my coupon applied. Like they wanted to waste my time MORE or try to embarrass me? After a week, another manager stepped in to apply the coupon but offered no other financial resolution to make me happy such as returning my $30 extra fee, or returning my tip to the groomer. They wanted to "fix" the cut, how can you add hair back if you cut it too short? Overall I was upset with the manipulation of overcharging me, not applying the coupon which was the reason I gave them a shot, and didn't even complete the basic service! read more

Love this place of my dogs' food but I'll never bring my dog back for grooming. They have good sales and a good variety of natural treats that my dogs love. I brought one of my pups here and regretted it. Like someone said in the reviews, they called and told me they're charging me $20 because he was being difficult. They kept him for hours to the point he had runny stool and kept pacing back and forth from anxiety when we got home. He wouldn't let me out of sight. They didn't trim his nails nor pluck the hair in his ears like I asked. His cut was shorter than what l told them even after picking the trim amount on a display board they showed me. The groomer who seemed to be in charge was short and kept interrupting with excuses and explanations that didn't make sense. She doesn't seem to be managerial material as she was getting emotional and wouldn't even hear me out so I still tipped her and left. I've taken him somewhere else and he's done in 2 hours! Here they keep the dogs for hours which is greedy! They take in as many as they can and you have to wait for your pup for hours! I found Tammy who used to be the manager and best groomer here and will now take my business to her. read more

I ordered wet cat food online for the strays I feed. When I picked it up three cans were missing. I went inside to let cashier know I was missing three cans and she called for a manager. I explained to him what happened and he said the other three items was out of stock. It showed online all items I ordered was available. He also said someone called to let me know. No one called...I had NO missed calls or voicemail. This is not the first time something like this has happened at this location. The employees are unprofessional and lazy. They need more training and better communication skills. I would rather been given three more cans of the same flavor than nothing at all. Please don't try to read my mind and make decisions for me. A simple phone call would have fixed everything and I wouldn't be leaving this bad review. Unfortunately, this store has lost a customer because I WILL NOT be shopping there again. read more

This used to be a 5 star place but now every-time I come here there is some kind of issue or problem. They won't provide any corporate policy on their grooming, they tell you to call corporate. I'm giving two stars simply because the people who work here are usually nice and the selection is good. However, I'm very disappointed with the aquatics department. The water quality in the fish tanks is so poor, the fish are suffering from stress and disease, the plants are covered in algae or melting, and the poor snails are literally disintegrating. I know the general thought is "oh it's just some snails" but these are living creatures and they're dying a pretty terrible death as the acidic pH and extremely high nitrates eat away and disintegrate their shells. You shouldn't operate a pet store if you don't care about the animals. All of the animals. read more

I love this store and go there for all of my pets needs. However I want to caution you about Old Mother Hubbard dog treats. I gave two varieties to my dog and she got alarmingly sick...copious vomiting after both flavors. I eliminated everything else in her diet until i determined that this was the source. The brand does not have a website so this was the most prominent place I can respond to this. I urge you to not buy any dog treats under this brand, unless you enjoy scrubbing carpets and cleaning up quite frequently and I also recomend that the store discontinues this brand. I also urge you to look at the reddit thrad concerning this. I do encourage you to continue to support this store...it is not their fault, those treats are sold all over, I just know those treats made my dog very sick. read more

I have used this store multiple times hoping for a different result but isn't that just the definition of idiocy? 1. Online delivery orders? Wrong house. Call them and they don't know what happened or where it was left. 2. Online pickup orders? Never ready. You have to go in and even then you have to tell them what you ordered. My mother picked up my order and they made her pay for it even though I already had. Call them to see if they will credit back the online order but nah -- my mother had to drive back over there. 3. Took back the kitten food because they gave me the wrong thing. One can missing out of a case that they had plenty of single cans to add back. Wouldn't take it back despite me having my purchase order. Had to just buy the cans that I ordered originally (for the THIRD time). 4. Lots of coupons but read the fine print before you go -- this one is good for only two hours and that one is only good on next Tuesday. I've given them more chances than they deserved. 3 stars for location and hours but don't look for much else. Know what you are there for -- get in and get out;, and it might be worth it. If you expect to see the same person twice or for anyone to have common sense, look elsewhere. read more

Stopped in to give the pup a bath and pick up some treats. I told the cashier I was going to the dog station just like I've done for 2 years. He told me they had a few back there and I said " I'd wait." Team member Kirstin came out of the room and told me I had to pay 1st, never had to do that before and if store policy changed why didn't the cashier express this when I told him I was going to the bathing area?!! I had to clean the stall before I gave my pup his bath because I didn't see any employees. We shopped for some treats and upon checking out Kirstin asked "are y'all still here?" She then wanted to inform me of the 30 minute rule in case I didn't know in front of the other customers in line. She is both unprofessional and quite unpleasant. I don't need to be chastised for shopping in your store which I may NOT do again. If she is that unhappy in her position maybe she needs to seek other employment maybe something in the security sector seeing how good she is @ policing the dog wash area. I have been loyal to Pet Supplies Plus for several years, and have had a great experience at many US locations including this one until today. The assistant manager, Kristin, was curt and uncooperative with her subordinate retail associate when we needed to do a coupon check at the register. Mind you, Kristin was in the back and it took the associate requesting help THREE times over walkie talkie for Kristin to finally agree to come to the front. It turned out I was two CENTS away from being eligible for the coupon. Kristin refused to price adjust so I could be eligible even though I'm in this store weekly spending hundreds of dollars on my dogs. This negative experience with Kristin makes me question my loyalty to the Pet Supplies Plus brand. People should not work in retail when lacking a customer-oriented attitude. read more

I spoke with the owner of PetSupplies Plus, Mr. Matt Grimm. He asked about the well being of my dog, Bella today which I appreciated. Mr. Grimm should never have to apologize for another adults insulant behavior towards another customer that patrons his store. I certainly would never dismiss her behavior as "perhaps Katie was just having a bad day". It's indefensible. The "unspoken rule" of a thirty minute dog wash is unrealistic. There is a difference between washing a wiener dog versus a sixty-two pound Labradoodle that had diarrhea all over her coat from Clostridium! Your "unspoken rule of thirty minutes"should be posted to avert any more confusion. Not once did Mr. Grimm attempt to retain my business, nor did he assure me that his manager's behavior would be addressed, or corrected. The Elizabeth and Cherry Community has become more diverse. I would urge Mr. Grimm to have his employees to take some cultural sensitivity classes in the near future. read more

Angel groomed my yorkiepoo. She was amazing! He was matted due to not being groomed in a few months and she had no problem taking him and cleaning him up. Petco turned me away and she made time for me the next day to get him in. He came home feeling like a new dog. She was very personable, kind, listened to me and understanding. Tami was recommended by a friend I have confidence in - she is a certified Master Groomer, but still it is always hard to leave your dog with a new groomer. MANAGEMENT EXTREMELY RUDE! This place used to have better service and value you as a customer more! I have been coming to this store for years and over time things have gone downhill! I've had a few issues with them and when I asked for a customer service or corporate number I was told they didn't have it off hand or I could call back. This last experience is where I draw the line and decided I would not patron this location again! (Get ready for the dissertation) On 1/23/23 I experienced one of the worst customer service experiences ever. After my husband tried to place an order online using a coupon code he received an error that the code was unregistered. I contacted the store on 2001 E. 7th St. in Charlotte. The manager Justin told me the code couldn't be used because it was used already under that email address. After hanging up, I placed an order using my account using the same coupon code. I meant to do the order as a delivery and called the store to see if the order could be changed to delivery. I was transferred back to Justin. Justin proceeds to chastise me, he started yelling and told me that since he already told me I could not use the coupon he was canceling my order. I have excessive coupon usage on my account and just because another account was used it doesn't mean we can use the coupon. I explained to him my husband ordered it for the dogs he takes care of. I asked him to place an order for me due to a mix up in the previous order. So the order was being placed for me. After I found out he couldn't place the order using the coupon, I decided to place the order using my account due to my dog recently having a litter of puppies. Justin hung up the phone. I waited 15 minutes and called back, asked to speak with Justin and asked if he intentionally hung up on me and he said yes, no apology or expression of regret. I was speaking to Justin very calmly explaining the situation and you're okay with hanging up on a customer that has shopped with your company for years? He said yes and reiterated he would be canceling my order. It has been a few days and I still have not received a refund and the purchased should've been reversed the same day! I expect to receive a refund or to receive the order I purchased! I am extremely disappointed and disgusted by the way I have been treated, I have been a long-standing customer and I will never step foot in that store, especially if Justin is one of your managers or an employee! read more
