I have known LJ for a long time, and he has previously done good work for me at fair prices…read more However, after this experience, I can no longer recommend his shop. I brought my African American coworker to his shop for an A/C compressor repair. While we were in the lobby, LJ became very confrontational during a general conversation and used excessive profanity toward him. Despite that behavior, my coworker still allowed him to complete the A/C compressor job. LJ kept the vehicle for approximately five hours and later called to say the repair was complete. We arrived at the shop, paid $3,500, and LJ stated that the repair included a six-month warranty. However, immediately after leaving the shop, the vehicle was still blowing hot air. My coworker made a U-turn and returned to the shop to explain the issue. At that point, LJ became extremely aggressive, yelling and using profanity, stating that they had "just put a new compressor in." My coworker calmly responded by saying that since the repair was under warranty, he simply wanted the issue checked. LJ refused to inspect the vehicle and stated that he was not pulling the car back into the shop, telling him to "go somewhere else." In my opinion, the repair was overpriced, the customer service was unacceptable, and the interaction gave the impression that he was not welcoming or respectful toward people of color. Based on this experience, I would recommend others stay away.

Also, they do not have working phones and are very uncommunicative about what they are doing. I only found out where my car was by a chance phone-call from the shop that was actually performing the maintenance. I understand they are remodeling. However, that is no excuse for the exceptionally awful customer service and lack of professionalism. The only reason I'm giving one star is because I can't give zero. Go to Liberty Transmission instead or even a dealership.

They charged me $30 to look at t and provided an a free vehicle look over on other things. They let me know that it was indeed leaking and found an additional leak. They sent me a quote and I was flabbergasted at the price. The first original leak repair was quoted for $2,700. They did find another leak that would cost me an additional $1500 to repair . Way more than I was planning. I talked to a gearhead at my work and he said absolutely do not pay that. He said they do this to women, unfortunately. I talked to two other local shops who quoted me for everything on the original repair for $800 and $1100. Those quotes were for everything 17th Street was going to do for $2,700. I hate that companies do this. The icing on the cake was that when I drove my car home, I popped the hood and they didn't even attach the cover to the motor. It was just laying cockeyed on the top. It makes me question what else they didn't reinstall after looking over my car.

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.
