I was able to get it towed there in the morning, he looked at it and gave me a call that same afternoon to let me know what was wrong with it. Once he told me what was wrong with it, he immediately repaired it, and I had my car back that same day. The price was low and the service was great! I couldn't recommend Affordable Transmission enough! Thanks again!

I brought my African American coworker to his shop for an A/C compressor repair. While we were in the lobby, LJ became very confrontational during a general conversation and used excessive profanity toward him. Despite that behavior, my coworker still allowed him to complete the A/C compressor job. LJ kept the vehicle for approximately five hours and later called to say the repair was complete. We arrived at the shop, paid $3,500, and LJ stated that the repair included a six-month warranty. However, immediately after leaving the shop, the vehicle was still blowing hot air. My coworker made a U-turn and returned to the shop to explain the issue. At that point, LJ became extremely aggressive, yelling and using profanity, stating that they had "just put a new compressor in." My coworker calmly responded by saying that since the repair was under warranty, he simply wanted the issue checked. LJ refused to inspect the vehicle and stated that he was not pulling the car back into the shop, telling him to "go somewhere else." In my opinion, the repair was overpriced, the customer service was unacceptable, and the interaction gave the impression that he was not welcoming or respectful toward people of color. Based on this experience, I would recommend others stay away.

The owner, Isaac, seemed kind, chatty, and very knowledgeable about vehicles. They had the vehicle for a little over two hours and only found that it needed an oil change and sway bar links. Cool. I ended up buying the car for $4,000. I brought it back to the shop a few days later to get that oil change and those sway bar links. However, mid-week when I called for an update, they claimed there were other issues that they didn't spot with the pre-purchase inspection. I respected they admitted it was their oversight, but obviously I wasn't pleased. Still, I told him to proceed with the repairs. Days went by without hearing from them. Several times I called, it went straight to voicemail, where I left messages, but never received a call back. A week later when I called, I was told a part didn't come in but it should be ready to pick up on Thursday. Great. People, it wasn't ready until a few hours before they closed on Saturday! Honestly, I think if I didn't keep calling, they'd still have it. The final bill was $3200. You read that correctly. I'm still in sticker shock. So, not only did this shop have my vehicle for two weeks, found issues after the inspection, and didn't keep me updated on its progress...they charged me almost as much as I paid for the vehicle to have it repaired. Needless to say, it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Also, they do not have working phones and are very uncommunicative about what they are doing. I only found out where my car was by a chance phone-call from the shop that was actually performing the maintenance. I understand they are remodeling. However, that is no excuse for the exceptionally awful customer service and lack of professionalism. The only reason I'm giving one star is because I can't give zero. Go to Liberty Transmission instead or even a dealership.

Normally with car inspections, I have to drop my car off at an auto-body shop and pick it up the next day due to the "first come, first serve" policy but I didn't have that option so I booked an appointment with 17th Street Automotive for the same day. As soon as I walked into the office, I was happily greeted by Kristen and another worker. They both were extremely pleasant and personable. I was quoted a service time of about an hour and a half and was offered beverages while I wait, which was a very nice gesture. My state inspection was completed after an hour and a half, just as they quoted me. Kristen was very informative with the things they found during the inspection and with how amazing their customer service was, I would definitely return to get my car serviced with them. I was given a free car freshener once the service was complete and told them I would tell everyone I knew about the exceptional experience I had with their business. If you are looking for same-day inspections or in need of any car services, I highly recommend checking out 17th Street Automotive.

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.
