Service was excellent and fast. Quick story I accidentally misplaced my key fob and was extremely nervous because I only had one key fob left out of 2. I procrastinated for over 2 months after losing one of my key fobs. I luckily found the my key fob and hit the Google search for getting a duplicate asap. First of course I called the dealer and they might as well as asked for 1st born with the price they quoted me. Then I came across Pop-A-Lock (loved the name) and called them to get a quote on getting a duplicate. The rep I spoke with was awesome and friendly. I had an appointment the next day for them to come to the hotel I was staying in and in less than 30 min I had my duplicate in my hand and the price was perfect. Outstanding. I lost the keys (not a FOB) including spare for my 2003 Ford F-250 pick-up. I called and within 3 hours the same day the company was in my driveway, and I had two new keys within 10 minutes. Very professional, competent and friendly service for under $250 (I originally called two Ford dealerships and they each estimated $500 plus I'd have to have the truck towed to the service department.) My boyfriend lost my one and only car key this morning and I was so stressed about having to find someone to do this without towing the car. Just got back from Pop-A-Lock on Rt. 1 in Norwood. I was having an issue with my key fob for my 2014 Ford Edge. Megan greeted me as I enter the store and I explained my fob was acting up. Car starter wouldn't work. Doors would lock and unlock without the fob being touch when sitting on the table. I thought I would need a new fob. I should mention that I have used this same location a few times before to get spare fobs made. Always had great experience. Pop-A-Lock is less than half what the dealers charge. Megan diagnosed the problem immediately and was able to fix it in less than five minutes. The price was FANTASTIC and i was in and out in 10 minutes. If you go ANYWHERE else for key issues, your throwing your $$ away. read more

The folks at Pop-A-Lock were so easy to work with. They came over, showed us our options from their book and discussed the pros/cons of each. When we had trouble with one of the locks, they came by the same day to take a look and cut all new keys. We have also used them at our office and there were equally as responsive and friendly. Pop-A-Lock assisted me based on a call to Progressive's Roadside Assistance for a jump. They were super busy, but the tech arrived within 45 minutes of the call. The tech was the owner of the company who was helping out on his day off. The jump didn't start my car, so he assisted me for close to 2 hours troubleshooting what the issue could be. It turns out my car had 2 batteries, and the second battery had to be jumped. He waited until the battery was fully charged and I could drive off before leaving. Truly a perfect example of going above and beyond, even when they are not being (directly) paid by the customer. Couldn't recommend them enough! read more

BUT, I use Yelp ALL THE TIME to research companies, restaurants, etc. And, since "Yelpers" helped me, I'd like to return the favor - and I'd like to give proper credit where and when it is very much deserved. I read GREAT reviews about Pop-a-Lock which is simply the reason I chose them. I needed a lock fixed on an old sliding glass door in my house. We are moving. Replacing this lock was on a list of fixes to do for the new buyers. After some of my own research, I'd found that the lock (and the door) was built in the 70s and therefore there was NO replacement for the broken lock strike. That is when I broke down and called a locksmith. First impression of Pop-a-Lock: The woman who answered the phone was professional, friendly and told me she'd get my message out to "John" immediately and he would get in touch with me. I don't think 3 minutes went by and John called. He then showed up that same evening to look at the problem and give me a free estimate. He was professional and friendly. I knew the door was old and the lock looked ancient, so I was wondering what John might suggest. He took the lock strike with him when he left and told me he'd try to have it welded. He knew we didn't want to break the bank and assured me he'd try every creative solution he could think of. He left a message a day later telling us he was still working on the issue. He gave us a few options for inexpensive fixes if the welding did not work and then one "final option" - to replace the entire door. Yikes! He again assured me he'd try all the other options first. Okay, long story short: John was able to get our lock strike replicated by a welder. He came by the next day and fit it in perfectly. A project that could have cost us thousands of dollars cost us under $100. I will use Pop-a-lock when we move into our new house and I would recommend this company to everyone. Don't call another company. These people are courteous professionals who are reliable, fair and friendly. Plus, John comes to "work" with a mastiff in his truck - icing on the cake! read more

I had a number of questions and the person who responded asked if she could call back in half an hour as she was busy at the moment - which I can understand, these things happen. Where do I start? I guess I can start by saying 3rd times a charm. I went thru 2 other Locksmith before coming across Pop-A-Lock on an online forum discussing Reprogramming Smart Key Fobs for Toyota cars. Anyways, I wish I had come across Pop-A-Lock 1st because even though the 1st 2 companies came out to try to re-program my used Smart Key fob they were unsuccessful and I still had to pay them just to trying. Arghhh!!! Anyway, Patrick from Pop-A-Lock came out and programmed not one but 2 Smart Key fobs in less than 60 minutes. Would have taken even less if I hadn't requested 1 more SmartKey fob to be programmed just to tuck away for safe keeping (these things are expensive to replace if lost) Dealer's will not re-program a previously programmed Smart Key Fob. Prior to setting an appointment with me Patrick called me to make sure he understood exactly what I needed. He was confident that he could do what I wanted and offered to bring a new SmartKey fob to program just in case he wasn't able to re-program my used one. He also cut the emergency key that comes with the Smart key:-) Well, he was able to re-program my used one and asked if i wanted the one that he brought as backup, which I opted to take. The whole process took less than an hour and the prices was very very affordable compared to what a dealer and the 1st 2 locksmith company wanted to charge. It isn't often these days that you get good service AND good treatment. When someone needs a locksmith, they often need it because they are unable to get into either a home or a car. Either way it can be extremely frustrating and will usually throw off an individuals timetable and create more of an urgency. I have had to call upon a man named John Gaffney on 2 occasions, and both times he responded in a timely manner and solved the issue. I am in the real estate business and always advise my clients to get their locks changed when they buy a new house.
