The daughter is home for the holidays! As we walked around Santa Anita mall after dining at Din Tai Fung, she was elated to find this new Pop Mart store. It's not as big as the Century City location, but seems to be larger than the one in Glendale Galleria. But it's organized, clean and super-cute like the other stores. The staff is also just as friendly.

We are heading in to the consumerism hellscape of the end of times, but I digress. Not the biggest fan of Pop Mart goods or the new age of blind boxes. Again, as I've said in my other reviews, I can't really subscribe to purchasing blind boxes of characters, pretty much OC's, with no lore just for the sake of aesthetically collecting, but I did see that there are some other "non-OC" franchises here such as Disney, Harry Potter, Barbie, Crayon Shin-Chan, Demon Slayer, etc. But I'll stick to my nendoroids and scale figures, ty. Since it's freshly opened, they do have a line management system to control the crowds going in and out. We came here on Labor Day weekend, and it was basically a walk in during the evening. All items looked stocked even with the lines of people purchasing their goods. Lots of staff working. Doesn't look like a chaotic mess. Now time will tell if we'll have our first scalper escapade or Labubu drop stampede here.

Pretty small Pop Mart store compared to others I've been to. I didn't have any problems with the staff here, and one even told me that their grand opening was happening on the 13th and they're currently in the "soft opening" period. The guy said that they should be "fully stocked" by then, but honestly a lot of the collections other than Labubus don't look like they need to be stocked. Which, unfortunately the Labubus are never sold in person at these stores anymore. You need to buy online whenever there are random drops. It's as if they only utilize their store as an online pickup spot for Labubus and the craze for them is what gives them store visitors in the first place. If you come to this store, you feel bad seeing little kids asking their parents for Labubus or seeing other ladies wanting to get one too, only to be told of the whole online system for them. Nontheless, I always find myself browsing Pop Marts just to see what collections they have. *super small store to browse through and can feel very cramped

Finally, there is a Pop Mart located closer to me! It's a really small store located inside the Shops at Santa Anita on the first floor. There is a crowd control line so that it's not too cramped inside the store. I have been eyeing the One Piece: The Grand Line Series. They sadly didn't have the full box in stock, but luckily, I was able to get two blind boxes. It is not cheap at all...about $50 total!

Very small shop in the corner by the center of the mall. Staff is friendly, decent selection. Lines were well organized compared to some other stores. Prices are pretty high now for Popmart compared to a while back We went to the grand opening at 6pm and fairly surprised they had decent stock on items. Actually wanted the space Molly 100% series 4 or any of the One Piece ones, but they didn't have them in stock. Ended up picking up a case of Labubu macarons and Rock the universe

After dinner, the family wants to walk around the Arcadia mall, and the kids want to visit the Pop Mart. On Saturday night, there aren't many people shopping here. I walked around the place, photographing all of the toys. The kids love this place, and I hope you enjoy all the photos I took.

This Pop Mart recently opens another store on the ground level at The shops at Santa Anita, formerly the Westfield mall. It's relatively small, compared to the century city location, and they have few vending machines here inside the shopping center. They carry the most popular collections, and staff is very friendly.

I think this is a newer location. They had a friendly staff member at the front to coordinate the line of people to enter. There were many mystery boxes to choose from and everything was bright and cheery. It's nice to get the Pop Mart without resale prices.

Lots of selection of little collectibles. There's a lot to look at. A tad pricey depending on the type of collectible.

Avoid this store for tournaments…read more I had a confirmed registration through the Bandai app for their tournament, yet when I arrived 10 minutes early, I was turned away. The store had set an early check-in cutoff that was only announced on their private Discord server, with no notification on the Bandai app where players actually registered. As a result, waitlisted players were let in ahead of those of us with confirmed spots, and we were then told to join a waitlist of 40+ people, despite having already secured our registrations. Several other registered players I knew experienced the same problem. Many of them had driven over 45 minutes with the assumption of a secured spot while arriving before the start time. This is a serious problem. If an event is open to the public and registration is handled through the Bandai app, critical information like check-in deadlines should be communicated through that same platform, not buried in a Discord that not all participants know about or have access to. The way this was handled strongly favors locals and regulars who are already in their circle, which is unfair to outside players who followed the proper registration process. I would not recommend supporting this shop.

They host tournaments as well, and have plenty of tables and chairs for casual play. It seems like locals and visitors drop by to check out this spot. The first time we came, we did not receive the best customer service. We were asking for what cards they had available and the person at the counter had short answers and we were ignored no matter how many times we tried to get their attention. The second time we came, it was much friendlier and warm. They shared with us that tournaments for One Piece tournaments happen (at least for now) on Thursdays and Sundays. We are still "shopping" around for an LCS but we will definitely keep them in mind and come to a tournament to check out the community. I like how the shop has an open space feel to it and offer some food and drinks.

As a middle-aged father looking for a hobby we could share that didn't involve screens or video games, I'd read a bit about Gunpla and decided to give it a shot. What a find! The owner was incredibly helpful and patient with us, taking the time to understand what we were looking for and guiding us to first sets that were perfect for our skill levels. His enthusiasm was genuine, and it made the whole experience fun and welcoming, never overwhelming for complete beginners like us. The prices are very reasonable, which is a huge plus when you're testing out a new hobby with your kid. We both walked out with our own kits, and I have to say, I'm just as hooked as my son! Building these models has been a surprisingly relaxing and rewarding experience, and I'm already looking forward to tackling more complex builds and refining them. I'm planning to return soon to pick up a few more sets for Christmas gifts and to expand my own collection. If you're looking for a screen-free activity to share with your children or just want to explore the world of Gunpla, I highly recommend stopping by this shop. The passion and knowledge of the owner really make all the difference.

A pretty good reproduction of an original Gauguin that happens to be in a nearby Pasadena art museum. Well, we paid a visit to Hobby Lobby, as we were picking up some things from nearby Whole Foods. The store occupies Sear's old location on Foothill. It's a huge place and designed to get you to walk around for things as signage isn't plentiful or helpful. Shelves are high so unless you are very tall you need to search around, guess they took that cue from Costco, it works if you aren't in a hurry. We were happy to find they had a framing department and also a fabric area, which, since the sad closing of JoAnne's, I was glad to see for the ghost of my mother who enjoyed sewing. I'm focusing on the Framing department and the friendly efficient gentleman in charge of that department, his name is Theo. He was helpful and friendly from the start. Their framing prices are posted as 50% off, which sounded great, but I guess the original prices need to be considered before seeing this as a good deal. Well, we checked on one style which had always been our original style we felt appropriate for this art work. We visited Tahiti a couple of years ago and and saw some Gaugain copies framed in a similar style, it works very well, so we inquired as to cost and estimated the size as we didn't have the painting with us. It was very reasonable compared to the frame shops we have checked over the decades, yes, decades! It was a very fair price, not knowing the quality of the work was something to consider, but Theo was very efficient and knew his products and was very meticulous. We could tell we were in very good hands. We were quoted, less the 50%, a little under $100 before tax. A very fair price. We were given a "finish by date", and 5 days before that date I gave a call to check on status, I was told it would be done in a couple of days. I was surprised and happy to receive a message later that day from Theo that our framing job was finished and available for pick up. We got over there that evening and Though Theo was gone then, a nice young lady got our finished product for us. It looked very nice. She walked us and the painting up to the lone cashier, as that is their policy, and we waited in line to pay. They did open another register as the line was about 6 people deep. I'm not going to get into their company politics, but over all it was a positive experience, especially thanks to Theo and his friendly, knowledgeable service and framing skill. Thanks Theo!

Located on the corner of Main Street and Garfield Ave, it is a great place to visit while going for a stroll in the heart of downtown Alhambra. Plenty of great eateries and cinemas in the vicinity as well. A free parking garage is conveniently accessible right behind the shop, in addition to street parking. Although the shop is small, they were able to feature hundreds of items without it being overwhelming. As a newbie to the current line of collectibles, Top Canvas serves as a great introduction to the new trend. As I walked in, a young woman politely greeted me and offered me assistance. Upon request, she promptly directed me to the Mofusand plushies and a wall of keychains. She took down the plushies from the shelves, so I could take a good look at all of them. And then, I spotted one very adorable Hello Kitty plushie holding a strawberry which totally makes a great Valentine's Day gift. For less than twenty bucks, I quickly secured my choice and went on to explore the rest of the shop. The average prices range from $9.99 to $29.99, so you can build up your collections without breaking the bank. Top Canvas is a great place for buying gifts on a budget, as they offer so many cute things for under $20. I also purchased 2 Lokiki blind box plushies as gifts. The gift recipient seems to love it, because it's always fun to open up a blind box. She totally adores her Lokiki plushie. Without a doubt, the highlight of my visit is the wall of Mofusand keychains! At $9.99 each, big or small, these are just too darn cute to pass up. I want them all!! The One Piece trading card vending machine was out of service at the time of my visit. This is one of those stores that is great to at least stop by for those who are into anime or Sanrio plushies.
