There's not many of Sanrio stores left, at least those that are accessible to me. No issues with this store, well lit, clean, and lots of merch stacked all the way to the top of the ceiling. Due to social distancing, they limit the number of customers in the store, but we didn't have to wait longer than 5 minutes. Lots of Hello Kitty, PomPomPurin, Kuromi, Cinnamaroll, Gudetama, etc merchandise, collab items with skateboard brands and TokiDoki, along with seasonal items like Christmas spirit jerseys, ornaments, etc. There's stationary, clothing, plushies, home goods (plates, silverware), and what definitely caught my eye, little booklets to kee your masks in ! Very cute. I do have to say for the less popular characters like Pochaco, Tuxedo Sam, Hangyodon, even Badtz Maru, there was less than a small shelf for them. Tuxedo Sam is my fav Sanrio character and there was only like 5 items of him. A bit disappointing, but understandable. They have a stamp card based on every $5 spent pre-tax. Once you fill the card out you can take $5 off and I *think* that they're stackable. It sounds like a lot but as every Sanrio fan knows, merch can be pretty dang pricey, so def have that stamp card handy ! read more

My daughter loves shopping at this location in the mall. Located on the first floor. We'll stocked, usually clean and organized with a nice variety of products. Shout out to Nathan our cashier today. So helpful, professional and welcoming. Nathan was very patient and supportive of my daughter. She typically needs extra time and patience when at the register and Nathan provided that. My favorite Sanrio store! I loved it when Kathy was running it and love it still when Jan took over. A+ customer service all around. They are super fast to reply when you contact them with any questions. They have the option to mail your order so you don't even need to live anywhere nearby. They have the best stock and keep their IG up to date so people know when new things come in. They even put you on a call/contact list if there's something you're waiting to come in. You can easily pay for this via their emailed invoice. And they are honoring all the receipts collected during the pandemic when it was curb side only pickup, so I get to bring them all in later to transfer to the stamp cards. When the pandemic caused stores to close and only offer curbside pickup, they adjusted so smoothly. They made it such an easy process, all you had to do was go during certain hours most days of the week and let them know when you're in the parking lot and someone comes out (wearing a face mask) with your bag to bring it to your car. No contact necessary. They just were able to re-open their doors recently so I was able to go see the store today! I love what they did with it (pics attached). And they have a ton of cute stuff in stock. They're always so organized and have super friendly staff. They added a hand sanitizer to the entrance so you can sanitize when you walk in. Hello Kitty in Arcadia, Los Angeles! Because there's only one Sanrio store left on the Island of Oahu (at Kahala Mall), this Sanrio store in Westfield Santa Anita Mall is very important to me! I have found some discounted Hello Kitty t-shirts here that I have never seen before! They also have some of the latest items like the Hello Kitty O*P*I nail polishes! This store is well stocked, has all of the Sanrio characters, and has friendly service! On this visit (10-1-19), I also found Cony (the white bunny) and Brown (the bear) - from LINE Friends! They are super cute!!! These plushies came in three sizes! Whenever I'm at this mall, I stop by and check if I NEED anything... lol! It's located next to JC Penney and the parking is free! read more

I've frequented this Sanrio and have always had great service and found a great selection. However, today they exceeded my expectations! I placed an online order despite living close, and unfortunately the item I ordered was mixed up and I received a different item. I called the store and spoke to the owner who was incredibly forgiving and kind, and she immediately found the item I had ordered. I decided to take a trip out to the store to exchange the item, and I was so delighted with the customer service I received. The owner was so sweet and quickly exchanged my item and even refunded my shipping expenses. Her kind demeanor was everything to me, it truly made my day! I will definitely keep returning. This is my third time coming to this location, which is great because there are not many sanrio stores left. My family, since the 80's, has frequented these stores and started with the one in Monterey Park, which sadly shut down years ago. This store has a diversity of merchandise and the staff is really nice! However, i have to knock off 3 stars based on their $20 surprise bags. As loyal sanrio customers, we have gotten surprise for years across several locations, and we always love the results. The bags advertise $40 value, but the items-- though they might be priced at certain values-- they most definitely are not *worth* $40 total! Included: - one hello kitty postcard from the hk hollywood store (which is shut down as of Jan21) - hk/kid robot surprise patch - 2 bow pins that I'm sure are from a multipack at 99¢ store - 2 pencils also probably from a multipack at the 99¢ store - date book that is from march20-apr21 (it literally only has one month left that's usable) - small Opi nail polish sampler - blank hk korean sketchbook (licensed, not sanrio original) - badtz Maru backpack keychain (also licensed) Although the bags do say there is a mix of Sanrio/non sanrio items, it's very clear they chose items that are scraps from shut down stores, the dollar store, and out-of-season overstock that no one bought. It is not worth the $40 value nor the $20 price, especially the expired agenda and those pencils/hair pins from the dollar store. Don't buy these bags because you will be disappointed. The bags are lazy and incohesive. I can't say it's because I got a bad bag bc my sister's came out almost identical, the only difference were the colors of the pins, nail polish, pencil, and a snowglobe instead of the badtz maru. Also, all the other bags felt and weighed the exact same. It won't hurt then to put sanrio pencils, erasers, pins, or other cheap sanrio original items in the bags! Who knew Sanrio brick and mortars still exist?!?! I used to go to these stores all the damn time growing up and always spent all my money on the most randomest things. Even though I'm grown now and most of the products are mainly for the younger generation, I still can't help but find myself browsing through the huge selections. Originally walked in with a stroller quickly realized the aisles are tiny so had my sister wait with my daughter outside. Shopped with my little niece to have the employees smoother us. Was not able to look at things because they'd just follow you as if you're stealing. No space to browse. Also everything is overpriced at this location. Have seen a couple of items on Alibaba and stores for significantly cheaper. I am an out-of-state customer. $60.50 (45th Anniversary Little Twin Stars Blanket, Plate & Bowl Set, and Mug) + $25.46 (shipping) = Absolutely Worth It! I was impressed with the speed and care Sanrio Arcadia's staff had taken to pack my order. I placed the order, and that same day, I got an email that they were preparing my order. The very next day, it was mailed out. So, while the price for shipping was a little high, and it made me think twice before adding more items to my order, I'm very happy with the work. That said, I would love it if they offered a free shipping promotion, triggered when you spend over a certain dollar threshold. I LOVE Little Twin Stars, and I was SO HAPPY to see this adorable set on Sanrio Arcadia's website. I ordered it immediately--because if I didn't, they would've sold out. An expensive and overpriced store. It's so pricey in fact that it beats the official website. It's small and crowded, and you can barely bend down to grab anything from the lower shelves. Not enough room for strollers or possibly other bags you have. The service was alright, but it was mostly just the average you'd expect. The selection is typically better than other stores with more variety of items and a few more characters, including the few lesser-known ones. Would not recommend buying anything here, everything is unreasonable and you'd probably regret doing so in about 10 minutes. read more

I rarely come to this location because a lot of the products are not licensed, everything is overpriced, and the employees follow you around. However I needed to pick up something for a gift but the employee with blue hair made it such an unpleasant experience she wasn't only following me around the store but she also gave me the nastiest attitude and scowl on her face for asking for a paper bag even though i offered to pay for it up front. She wasn't even my cashier but she decided she had to chime into the transaction and kept telling the cashier to give me a plastic one and telling her to charge me over and over again. My cashier asked if she should check if the item was over $35 to which she said it's not you need to charge her. I wouldn't have even asked if I had known it was going to result in her acting like a child because this entire thing was over a paper bag... that i offered to pay for at the very beginning. Extremely weird behavior and I'd rather drive further and spend more money at a different location than return here and have any more interaction with her. She should really reconsider being in a customer-facing role. :) read more

Very disgraceful manager. They invited us in as we walked by and once we were in they started to ask if our daughter has a mask. We let them know that our daughter isn't even 2 years old and she is well below the mask mandate age. They then said, "oh she looks older than that." They then asked us to put hand sanitizer on our daughter since "she touched things". Apparently this manager never had children because forcing a baby that is a year and a half old to have hand sanitizer is awful due to them touching their face. Makes sense that a woman her age works in such a low level store. read more

This store has to be one of the best Sanrio stores available since a good chunk of all the other ones closed down. They have such a good selection on everything for every character. The girls working here are super friendly and try to help you out as much as possible. Every time I come here, the inner kid in me comes out and play (lol). I mainly loved this store because they sell washis. For the longest time I couldn't find any store that sells Hello Kitty and Friends washi tapes. On top of that, post it's and page flags. (For my planner useage). This store pretty much got it all. Whenever I decide to go to SoCal, this is the first store I go to. Went in with my toddler who was being calm and friendly, and had the employee there hawk us and warn us not to grab too many stuffed animals. Then, as we were browsing, we were getting followed around and eyed down the whole time. My cousin was looking at a display in a tight corner of the store and all of a sudden the employee started spraying the display with windex right next to her, like what I'd rather just shop on the online store anyways. I've gotten quite bored with my fabric /cloth face coverings and surgical masks. One day I happened to be at this store and discovered my all time favorite Hello kitty 3- ply disposable masks! They are in three different colors and I bought all three varieties just to make it easy for my wardrobe coordination. I always get lots of compliments from females in all ages . Who doesn't want something cute 2 wear on a daily basis? I know I do! These masks are so comfortable and quality made. I usually take my girlfriend to a few Sanrio stores in Los Angeles when we visit from Northern California. I visited this store on Nov 18, 2020. My girlfriend saw a plush she wanted but told me it was too expensive and left. I wanted to surprise her but I didn't have the opportunity to go back to the store to purchase it. I contacted Sanrio Arcadia via messenger on Nov 25 and asked them if they still have the plush. They told me that it was still available. They were very informative in the process. When I was about to check out (Nov 26), they told me that if I paid the next day (black friday on Nov 27), I would get a 20% discount if my purchase exceeds $100. I added a small plush to my order and was told if I waited; I qualify for the 20% off. Come the morning of Nov 27, I was told the plush I wanted was sold the night before on their store site and that my invoice was adjusted. When I looked at my invoice it turns out it was the plush I was looking to get. After stating that I will purchase the plush, showing the screenshot that we agreed to the transaction, and explaining why I waited to pay, the person on the other end had nothing to say but "sorry." They even had the audacity that they can not control their store site. umm.. it's your website.. you control it.. With this misleading information, I became furious as now the plush I was going to get for my girlfriend for the holidays is now sold. I spent $170.00 and some cents and they wouldn't give me a nicer paper bag with handle. I got the smallest paper bag version and placed with in a blue thin plastic bag that my hands were even apart holding the bag. I purchased quite a bit with bath towel for $50.00 and other items. They are over priced too. Sanrio online has one of the bags I purchased for 9.99 on sale and theirs are 20.00 and some cents. And...their sales are final. Some of the workers were nice but wouldn't you take care of your customers who spend more than enough? One paper bag with a handle which I was just requesting and this store just lost a Sanrio avid collector. I won't be back again to this store for sure! So buyers beware!!! read more

As someone who LOVES Sanrio and went to the Hello Kitty Con in Little Tokyo years ago, I can say that this is one of the best Sanrio stories in the SGV area. I shop in-store and online, and many times I come into this store, this store is stocked with the newest merch and even has imported Japan-exclusive Sanrio items. In terms of getting the latest Sanrio designs and collaborations (i.e. Tokidoki, Loungefly, Hello Kitty x Sailor Moon, and Hello Kitty x Strawberry Shortcake), this Sanrio store is ahead of the curve. If there is a purse or backpack that you're vying for and they are going to have it soon or just ran out, you can always ask a Sanrio staff member to sign up on their waiting list. I'm an avid journaler so I absolutely love this store for helping me meet my work calendar and journaling needs with tons of cool stickers (bring back the My Melody micro stickers, guys!) and stationery. read more

My two daughters and myself had the WORST experience here. We were helped by a cashier by the name of "Lupe". Although her name tag said "Lupita". We were here in the store on January 7 and we checked out at 5:05 PM. Both of my daughters asked to come to this store so if they could spend their Christmas money. When we went to check out Lupe had such a bad attitude she was acting like she couldn't be bothered in helping my daughters look at the jewelry in the case. And the worst part was is that when we were going to pay, our total was $113 and Lupe or Lupita (whatever her name is) said that since we spent over $50 we get a free small plush. I then told her that this was a purchase from both of my daughters and asked Lupita if we could have two of the plushes since we spent over $100. Lupita flat out said NO!! I then told her to cancel the transaction and that I wanted to pay separately for their things because they were each using their own money. Then Lupita told me "you can't do that"! I asked her why not? And she said "if you do that then you have to use two different cards. I told her I wasn't using cards that they were using their own money they received from Christmas. Lupita then rolled her eyes and my eldest daughter said "just forget it mom I don't want the plush anymore." That absolutely broke my heart !!! At that point I was over Lupita and her terrible attitude . This is supposed to be a fun experience for kids to go shop and enjoy the time in the store. But this rude employee ruined it because she has nothing better to do with her miserable life than to work for a minimum wage in the mall being a pathetic pitiful person to children !! Oh ya she also said that we cannot combine the Sanrio bonus card because we forgot ours at home. Yet, on the card itself it says you can combine the cards!!! LUPITA LIED ...LIAR!!!! I will be taking my daughters to a different Sanrio location from now on. Where they are not discriminated against for being children in a store that is geared towards children!!!! To the owner: do yourself a favor and get rid of Lupita she is bad for business. read more

I really love this store! Since we can't shop in store due to Covid-19, I was able to reach out via Instagram and not only were they very responsive, but I was able to get all of the items I needed and shipped to me very quickly! My package arrived the next business day, well packed, with a nice Sanrio bag and stickers included! Very thoughtful and sweet! They are reopening this week and I can't wait to visit in person so I can buy some more goodies! I highly recommend shopping here, really awesome experience all around! read more

This Sanrio is definitely one of the best Sanrio stores you can shop at. The well trained staff is professional and it definitely shows. Their merchandise is up to date, incredibly well stocked and even have many items that other shops will never have. Whenever you enter the shop, the staff greets you pleasantly. They are knowledgable with the products and will assist you whenever you need help. The shop is kept very clean and their displays are always a delight to shop through. I read some of the other reviews and I am highly disappointed how petty some people are with store policies. It is not the staff's fault that their policies to keep a professional establishment clean and well run does not agree with your personal gain.
