They stated multiple times over the years that their "classic car guy" was an expert and could handle a classic car. For the first 5 years of living in atlanta, I took my classic mercedes here until they finally told me their classic car guy was leaving and they wouldn't touch my car going forward. Frankly, they did 5 years of changing my oil and nothing else but they'd charge me for what they called "regular maintenance". Regular maintenance on a classic car should include a lot more than just topping up the oil and calling it a day, but every time I'd mention knocking noises or brake issues or anything else to them, they wouldn't address it at all so I had no idea if they thought it was an issue or didn't. Finally 5 years later, thank god their classic car guy left, because I took it over to a place in Decatur and all of the things I had been worried about, they found a reason, they gave me a full breakdown online of what they recommended and why, they answered all of my questions, and I could pay the invoice online and feel good about it. Update: As of 9:30 p.m., Jacob, the owner, repeatedly called and texted me after my review. He first falsely claimed I'd only visited once four years ago, then offered to pay me, which I refused. After that, he pulled up what he claimed were years of invoices that were not real, despite the fact that I have the original receipts for my own transactions. Even after I repeatedly told him to stop contacting me, he continued until I had to block his number. Based on both my experience and his behavior afterward, I would never recommend this business.

Well, they bent over backwards to help me aslong I had my vehicle in shop before 8am. I arrived at 7:45 am, Scott was opening up shop. I gave him the key & hoofed off to Corner Coffee. Scott shows up at Corner Coffee at about 12:30 pm to pick me up after repairs were done. He tells me that the transmission pump replacement took much less time than anticipated. So he gives me a generous labor credit. I was floored. AAA Auto Care wanted $7K to replace the transmission when all I needed was a pump replacement - a $2K cost. The honesty, integrity and communication was flawless. As a small business owner, I value these principles - and they nailed it. So don't even think twice before having Mr Transmission do your car repair for transmissions, brake work, fluid changes (oil, transmission, brakes, coolant), etc. If they don't do it, you can expect an honest answer. Can't say enough good things about these guys.

If I could rate this place lower...I WOULD...and by several levels…read more Initially, I had taken our 1994 Toyota 4Runner to them with a very, VERY slight transmission fluid leak and intermittent slippage when in DRIVE. In less than an hour after leaving the vehicle with them for their diagnosis, they called to say that the fluid level was low and the fluid pan gasket needed replacing, as did the fluid filter/screen. So, over the phone, I approved the repair work to be done. The next day, not only was the leak back, but it was 20-30 times worse -- not mere DROPS, as it was when taken in for the assessment/repair. The fluid is POURING onto our garage floor. So, I returned the car, and they replaced the "replaced gasket" with a new gasket, and I took the car home. Yep, you guessed it! A couple of days later, the leak is back and worse, now, than it was after the initial repair. As well, their front desk associate -- Cameron, who is the son of the owner -- gave me grief when I expressed my disappointment in their, would let me talk by talking over me. Then I encouraged him to let me speak, if I was to avoid suing them. He then unleashed a tirade of screams, using that narcissistic challenge of, "Do you know who you're talking to?!!! And then hung up on me. I immediately called back, and the owner had been brought to the phone and tried to explain...EXCUSE their shoddy work. First, he thought I was completely ignorant of car repair, not knowing that I'd grown up on a farm, helping my dad repair and retool LOTS of major machinery components, INCLUDING TRANSMISSIONS, manual mind you. Ultimately, I had to FORCE them to remove some of the fluid, they had refilled the fluid level way, WAY, WAYYYYYY beyond the FULL notch on the fluid check dipstick. Since then, the leak essentially has disappeared; however, here's the remaining issue, which I didn't mention, given the fundamental failure to resolve the leak. Not only did leak issue worsen on order of magnitude, but so did the transmission slippage -- now not just in DRIVE, but also in SECOND gear, failing to "pull" from a dead standstill, but will kick in after starting the car in LOW, then shifting upward and settling in DRIVE. Needless to say, HELL will receive a ton of fur coat shipments before I'd EVER take my care back to these guys. And, now, YOU stand forewarned. I'd been referred to them by SIGNATURE Auto Repair, who's just next door, literally, as THEY don't do transmission work. Ironically, neither does this MR. TRANSMISSION. Be warned...or be incalculably sorry!!!

We had to call every few days to get an update or we would hear nothing. We finally got the car back after about 2 1/2 weeks. It seemed to run fine. After a few months, however, we were still having transmission issues and were provided diagnostic codes when we took it to a near by auto part store. Fine. It's under warranty. We take the car back to the shop. Our vehicle sat at the shop for legitimately 1.5 weeks with little to no calls or updates. We finally retrieved our car without our warranty repairs as we were given excuses about how short staffed they were and how someone had jury duty, blah, blah, blah. Meanwhile, we're renting cars, taking Lyfts, Ubers, etc... all while the car is just sitting there. Simply said, this shop does not honor their warranty or at least not with any urgency at all. If you have 100 years to wait.. then maybe your experience could be different.

I shopped everywhere for transmission service, only wanting the best since our 2012 Lexus LS 460 that was used to the pampering it received from the Lexus dealership service departments. So when we decided that a transmission replacement was the way to go I found High-Tech transmissions using Yelp. With many reviews north of 95% positive I did not let the distance from our home to the shop get in the way, and I'm glad that I didn't. After pickup I purposely waited a few weeks before tendering a review so that if I needed to return the vehicle for any reason I could judge their temperament completely (many service providers are angels until they get paid, and when something goes wrong afterwards they evolve into demons, not these guys). Wayne & his team were true and genuine good people. I returned the car a week after pickup because I heard unfamiliar noises coming from the rear tires that I thought was related to the transmission upgrade. Although it was a nothing burger Wayne was cool, calm and easy going about it. Now our car is a lean mean driving machine that handles like new. We are so happy having found High-Tech Transmissions. So, if you need transmission work and you want a complete service experience it would be a mistake to take chances, get your car to High-Tech Transmissions, you won't regret it. These guys are the real deal. THANKS WAYNE!!!

I had my truck towed to this shop 2 weeks and 1 day ago. The day I brought the truck in they told…read moreme they would run a diagnostic and get back to me so I waited two days to hear from them before I called them. I called to check the status and they told me they were still running checks and they'd get back to me. They never did call so I called again on Friday and they said all signs pointed to the computer so they would price the part and call me back with an estimate. Well, as you can guess they didn't call me back. On Monday the 6th business day of my car being in their care I gave a call to the person that referred this shop to me. They said they call them and I miraculously received my first call from the auto shop and they told me my truck needed a new fuel pump. After quoting me a ridiculous price for a dodge ram mind you I told them I bring in my own pump to trim some of the inflation. I brought the pump in on Wednesday and was told they'd have me up and running either that evening or the next day. I of course didn't hear anything by the end of business on Wednesday so I gave them a call on Thursday morning just to see what time they thought they would be done and they had no idea. I called back in the afternoon and they said they installed the fuel pump and the truck still wouldn't start. At this point I'm a extremely distrustful and let them know just how dissatisfied I was with their service. I told him (Kevin, random worker) I didn't understand how all signs would point to the computer on Friday and you tell me it's a fuel pump on Monday and you install it and it doesn't work. He said he didn't know who i spoke to last week but it wasn't him and everyone else was still at lunch. I asked if they even ran a diagnostic he assured me they did and it gave two codes. I also complained about no one Ever calling me to let me know what was happening so he apologized and said I would definitely get a call by the end of the day, matter of fact he would personally call me back. The shop closes at 5:30pm everyday so I waited until 5:20pm before calling back. They answered but this time James Latimore (Owner) started by assuring he was just about to call me. He said my truck was previously being handled by Garland Brown (Co-Owner) and he gave me the wrong diagnosis and that the computer in my car wouldn't even communicate with the machine for a diagnostic. After unknowingly telling me the previous guy I spoke to blatantly lied to me about the diagnostic he apologized for the "mishandling" of my vehicle and he said would being to the work personally from here on and would call me in the morning "before 11am". Friday morning at 10:50am I call the shop. I'm place on hold for 12 min and I received a call from the shop while I'm on hold. He tells me he hasn't got the truck running yet and he says he'll get it worked out. Never heard back on Friday. On Monday called in and a mechanic said no one had touched it for the day. Tuesday I had to send a tow truck to pick up my still broken down truck after 2 weeks of being BS'd. I can't believe that this shop came as a referral which was the only reason I took there in the first place. These people aren't qualified to fix a Tricycle let alone something with an engine. If you're considering going there don't.

After picking the truck up the third time, it broke down due to overheating. Had it towed where it sat momentarily and the transmission still leaked. I had to make the decision to accept a loss due to not wanting to take the truck for a 4th time and having additional issues once I received the vehicle. I had to take the truck into another shop to diagnose and fix. BEWARE To the shop owner that replied: Please read the review of its entirety! You had (3) attempts! And you couldn't get it right. So miraculously my truck started overhearing after pick up which cracked the heads and the truck went down for a while. Needless to say, I would never recommend this company after all the issues you have given my son and I. Record keeping: it's not my responsibility to keep up with this but my American Express shows the deduction date August 2nd 2025 of $2622 for the rebuild. I suppose it's easier for you to deny if you don't have record. Only reason I waited this long is because the extent of damage caused by the overheating made me replace the entire engine. As a Veteran to others take this warning and be careful when you do business with this company despite the other reviews. The message from the business owner Christian is a copy and paste response.
