I've been a Popeye's fan since the Thanksgiving Point location opened, and while this location is closer I've always felt like this location has been a hit and miss, and the last couple years it really went down hill. They either can't keep up with the menue items, or the chicken was overcooked or taste stale from the old oil. However after I walked away from a brand new fried chicken restaurant that just opened from across the street due to them being way overpriced, I decided to give this location another try, and I was pleasantly surprised. The fried chicken was super fresh, and they were light and crispy and very juicy inside, the sides were good, and the service was excellent. I have to say, this location definitely has win me back for my future fried chicken cravings. read more

With all of the hype of the Popeye's chicken sandwich I had to try it out myself, for science of course. It definitely lived up to everything I have heard! It is far superior to other popular fast food restaurant's chicken sandwiches. If I had only tried their chicken and nothing else this would be a five star review. I have been to this location 3 times and each time I have received cold fries and a flat soda. Not even warm fries! Cold and hard as though they have been sitting out over night. At least they're consistent I guess, but this is the only restaurant I have gotten fries out the window cold. I'd rather burn my hand and do the hahh ah ahh routine with them than get them cold. I will also say that my kids love their chicken tenders! They are awesome as well, as earlier mentioned the chicken is really well made. I also had heard about their biscuits that without a drink offer a slim line between life and death, but with some butter and honey they were perfect to me. I went to this location last time and the "chicken" sandwich was barely a sandwich. the "chicken" in it was super thin and stringy in some parts, and about half of it had no chicken in it at all, just breading! I didn't even know at half of it because the point is having chicken be the main taste, not bread and breading. they shouldn't be allowed to serve pieces of chicken that are very thin because those typically are the ones who don't have much chicken in them. Make sure if your employee finds a too thin piece of meat they don't put it on a sandwich served to a customer. This particular location has the slowest drive thru and slowest service. The front line area that you can see at the drive thru pull up is filthy. I expect a certain amount of mess, but this was ridiculous. Employees even knew it ,as one got frustrated at no trashcan space and just threw his trash behind the register. The kids meals never come with the toy either. So definitely check your kids meals. The chicken is same ol popeyes, the spicy chicken sandwich was ok. I'll start off by saying I like Popeyes food. That's why despite having multiple bad experiences I still go back to this location. My bad experiences with this location before usually had to do with missing items, wrong items, being out of stock or extremely long wait times in the drive-thru. Like I said though, I like the food, and we don't have a Popeyes in our area, so we go to this location. Our experience yesterday though will put that to an end. There is no hope for this location and this time the food was terrible. Here is my list of complaints from my experience yesterday. 1. They still advertise food items that they haven't carried for a long time. One of my favorite items is Cajun Rice. It's on their drive-thru menu. I know Popeyes has gone back and forth on carrying this item, but when I saw it on the menu I figured they brought it back. When I tried to order it they said that it's been discontinued for a long time. Okay..... so then delete it off your menu please. The fact that you don't do that is a sign that you don't care. 2. I spoke our order clearly. I ordered using their numbers. "I'll take the number 3 meal..." When the person repeated back my order it was something completely different. This happened more than once while ordering. 3. I had my wife check to make sure we got everything before we left, but unfortunately we forgot that we had ordered their new strawberry biscuit, and we didn't check to see it was in the bag. When we got home we realized it wasn't there. My little daughter really wanted to try it, but we live about 20 minutes from this location. My wife called to see if we could get a refund, which I knew they wouldn't do, but she wanted to at least try. Instead of apologizing, the manager was kind of short with my wife and just said you have to come in. Not getting an apology kind of set off my wife, so she decided to travel all the way to get the order correct. 4. Before my wife left to get the missing item from our order, my kids started eating the chicken strips that we had ordered. They complained that it was too spicy. We had ordered the Classic so I thought they were complaining about nothing. I checked the chicken strips though and I could see the red coloring for Spicy on it, so they screwed that up too. I gave my wife the chicken strips and she brought that back to get exchanged for the right items. 5. The was food was bad. While my wife was getting the missing item and wrong items exchanged, my kids and I ate the rest of the meal. Their chicken sandwiches are usually good. I like how tender the chicken usually is. This sandwich was terrible though. It looked like two thin pieces kind of put together to make a makeshift whole piece. It was dry. Worst chicken sandwich I've ever had from Popeyes. The fries were overcooked or were sitting out too long. They were dry too. The mac & cheese was terrible and my kids wouldn't eat it. Lumps of dried cheese, overcooked macaroni where you couldn't even tell if it was macaroni pieces in it. It looked more like lumpy mashed potatoes. The cinnamon apple pie was hard. Obviously that was sitting out a long time too. The only thing we enjoyed was the mashed potatoes. 6. The service received when my wife went back to correct the order. My wife was calm at first on the phone when explaining what was wrong with the order. She got upset with the Manger's attitude and lack of apology and my wife did abruptly end the phone call because she was pissed. When she got to the location she says that the Manager, who happened to be the person who took and served us our order, was giving her looks. My wife asked for the missing biscuit and wanted to exchange the spicy chicken strips for the Classic. She got the biscuit, but for the strips the Manager told her that they were out of the Classic. My wife came to find out that the Manager gave us Spicy instead of Classic during our initial drive-thru order because they were out of Classic, but never said anything to us about switching it. In the end, our kids can't eat spicy so they ended up giving us nuggets instead. After my wife got the items she was put off by the general attitude of the Manager and mentioned that she was not happy that during the entire process there was never any apology. In the end, the service for this location has never been great. It's kind of hit and miss. With the food pretty much being terrible though, what's the point of ever coming back to this location? Yesterday the restaurant was closed at 4PM (I'm not sure they ever opened on Friday). After knocking on the drive-thru window, we were told "they were closed due to an employee walk-out". Mama filling the orders refuses to look at anything but the very next order, and of course that order is always 4 Chicken Sammiches, so she chillin' and ain't doin' shit until 4 Chicken Sammiches are cooked. I end up waiting over 20 minutes for food that's sitting right in front of me to just be put in a damn box. Mind you, that's 20+ minutes of extra vulcanization since it's the same-ass food, so the biscuit is dry and the tendies are rubbery by the time I get them. It's part staff / process issues, but it's also part these crazy mayos out here and their orders. One old dude walked out with six chicken sandwiches in a bag and nothing else. The F is he doing with all those? Putting them in his freezer? Two tubby dudes got two EACH (that's per person) plus sides and biscuits and sodas to eat in. My dudes ONE sandwich BY ITSELF is 700 calories, 42g of fat and 12g of sugar (almost half a can of soda). And you wonder why this country is in a state. People can't handle eating, walking or any basic-ass thing anymore. Anyway, if you wanna know about the Voodoo Tender, it's just a basic plain tender with some sweet and sour sauce and cilantro / onion bits drizzled on it. I love this popeyes. Its always clean and the staff is pretty cool. They have good report with each other and with customers. It's funny to see people complain about a wait time. Have you been to in n out lately? Or anywhere that doesn't just microwave their food. There's always a wait. Especially during dinner and lunch. If this place was so terrible why is it constantly packed and why do people keep on coming back. The people have spoken. This Popeyes rules and is hear to stay!
