The meat is consistently good but it's a bummer when they greet you by telling you all the stuff they are out of! We were also disappointed to have them tell us that despite our arrival thirty minutes before the published closing time that we would not be able to dine in, rather would need to carry our food out. Fortunately someone overrode the initial condition and they let us stay as long as we didn't use any silverware! We always like the vibe at R&R, especially in the summer when they open things up. I was craving BBQ and was happy to have found R&R on Yelp. I did have some hesitation as I saw from the pictures that it was NOT a sit down full service restaurant but the craving for BBQ won out. It's very reminiscent of many BBQ places in Tx and the south; one walks up and orders, find a table and your order is brought to your table...the rest is self service from the drinks to the utensils. Again, it's not my favorite style of dining but still the atmosphere and space was beautiful with well regulated AC which was great on a 95 degree evening. As far as the BBQ...craving satisfied! I ordered the 3 meat plate of brisket, ribs and sausage links...it came with hush puppies and I ordered a side of fried pickles and topped it off with peach cobbler...with a fountain drink I spent a grand total of $35 ish dollars and I was stuffed ! I considered the meal a good value. The brisket was tender and even better with their sauce (on the table). The same could be said about the 2 ribs in this combo...lots of meat on the bone and also tender and juicy. The order taker said told me the sausage was spicy and it was but at the level of my liking. The fried pickles were crunch and tangy just as I expected and what I was looking for when I chose it as my side. Prices up, quality and portions down. Is this a shrinkflation thing? Most recent visit to this location was somewhat disappointing. The up charge on each serving of brisket as a meat choice is disappointing enough but then tack on the fact when the food arrived, said brisket amount was so undersized. The same was actually true of each of the meats. I understand food costs have gone up, noticeably with meat but that is clearly being passed on to the consumer by reducing the portion size(s). I know they weigh the meat out for consistency / cost savings but I would say we might have left disappointed and slightly hungry. read more

Dare I say, R&R is the best BBQ spot in Utah? I'm only giving 4 stars because it's a little pricey. But the meat is always high quality. My go-to order is the two meat plate for $16.99 with ribs and chopped brisket. You can also choose one side and a roll or hush puppies. The chopped brisket is so juicy and tender. It tastes great with their original BBQ sauce. I believe the ribs are a couple dollars extra, but I can't help it--I order them every time. I also love their peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. It's so delicious. The rolls always taste great too. I'm not a big hush puppies person so I never choose those. My go-to side is the mashed potatoes with gravy. I've also tried their deep fried okra and it was pretty tasty with ranch dip. You really can't go wrong here with whatever you order. read more

Tonight was supposed to be a celebration dinner that was only met with disappointment. I guess shame on my for ordering through DoorDash?! The Caveman burger looked nothing like its description. There was a huge hunk of fat on the top of my burger instead of pulled pork, the burger patty itself had no flavor whatsoever just smoked blandness and the bun was a soggy mess with two dots of BBQ sauce. The sausage was good but that's the only thing that was on a multi ingredient burger. My husband got the 2 meat plate and said the brisket was too fatty but the ribs were super delicious. The coleslaw was warm and was really watery. The macaroni and cheese was cold and clumpy. The peach cobbler was not cobbler but a cobbled together mess of a dessert with literally 4 slices of peaches with a gross amount of goop that I'm unsure of what it was. The garlic mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious. That's the only thing I really enjoyed. I don't blame DoorDash for this at all they were earlier and they brought it and most items were warm except the Mac and the Blobbler (Peach Cobbler). Came here on a Friday night. We were told that the food was going to be put in to go boxes since they were out of table space. There was plenty of space to sit, but no big deal. We ordered the caveman burger, which has everything but the kitchen sink. The pulled pork was good but the burger patty and sausage were both over cooked. This burger was not for me, and I should have ordered something else. The brisket salad was good, just your average salad with meat on it. I've eaten here before and really like it. The items we ordered were not our favorites. I won't order that burger again but will come back for something else. The picnic chicken was a great deal. Kids thought it was a little dry. Sliced brisket was excellent. Chopped Brisket, however, was inedible.. way too fatty. The first time I've been here The bbq was really good. The second time was a disappointment.. I thought, ok, maybe that was just one miss , so we went there again today. And it was more of a disappointment compared to the last one. Mind you, they aren't cheap. But the beef brisket, normally my favorite was so dry, tough and burnt. The pulled pork was so ordinary. We've my dogs didn't want to eat them. On top of that, their tables were dirty. Even if they tried to clean it, there were still so many food crumbs. I also heard it's as good as Texas meat. Yum. The orders didn't take too long. I ordered beef brisket, a side of rolls, and creamed corn. I am a little disappointed with how the texture and the taste of the beef brisket. To me, it wasn't as enjoyable. I've heard the pulled pork is good. I'll try to order it next time. I love myself some good BBQ, the only thing that makes me a little hesitant to eat it on the daily is the price to proportions! R&R is pretty good though, and you can find yourself some screaming deals. This one specifically is right off the interstate near Traverse Mountain. So take some time to get your shopping in! We usually find ourselves getting the family pack, which comes with 3 lbs is pulled pork (out of this world delish, it really is smoked well), a dozen dinner rolls (which is really just bagged rolls you can buy at the grocery store yourself), a quart of mashed potatoes and gravy (this has been a hit and a miss for me, sometimes they're really cooked well and other times the potatoes are dry), a pint of coleslaw (nothing to write home about), a bottle of sauce (your choice, and it's a full bottle so you'll definitely have extra!!), and some plates/forks/knives. I wish they threw in their beans though, those suckers are SO TASTY. You get all of this for $45! Pretty awesome, pretty worth it. The staff has always been helpful and kind. They make it easy to call ahead and pick up for take out. The restaurant is doing a great job at staying clean and masks/gloves are mandatory for the staff (which in my opinion, should continue even after COVID-19). Tips & Tricks: * The biggest tip: one of my favorite things to do is buy some pulled pork (you can get a pound for $13) and bring that home to make your own loaded nachos! Throw the oven on broil and let it simmer. * I'd pass on their Mac and Cheese, which is a bummer because that's my normal go to side at a BBQ joint. What I would order, in a heart beat, are their beans. Dang they're good. * Also, DONT FORGET TO CHECK IN! Claim those wings!!
