Every time I've visited this restaurant it's been enjoyable. The food had always been hot and fresh. It's a chain location so there is only so much they can do with the food but what they do is pretty good. The place has always been clean and the staff very friendly and courteous. For $4, you can get a thick, juicy, and crispy chicken sandwich that is made fresh to order. I tried both the classic and the spicy and both were perfect. The flavors were great! The breading on the chicken was thinner than CFA's, which made it more crispy and delicious. The chicken was moist and biting into it was like slicing a stick of butter that is room-temperature. I tried the green beans as the side, which was meh because it was just covered with gravy. But besides that, the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich beats CFA in a heartbeat. read more

We stopped at this Popeye's on our way to the Poarch Band of Creek Indians Museum in Atmore. As far as their food is concerned, it was consistent with the food I've had at Popeye's locations in Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas. In other words, it's good as far as fast food goes, but not much else. The cashier was very polite and our food was prepared quickly, the restaurant was also cleaner than most fast food restaurants I've been to. Overall, if you're just passing through and don't have the time for anything else, I'd recommend eating here over McDonald's or another fast food restaurant in the area. read more

For fast food kind of in the middle of nowhere this place does an overall pretty good job. Grabbing a quick drive through lunch on the way back from the beach, the Popeyes road sign was a welcome beacon. Drive through menu was good, with everything displayed well. Fast cajun style food is my kind of place (plus I'm not that big of typical fast food places). Chicken and shrimp dishes with varying levels of heat to please just about any heat seeker. Several combinations that include chicken fingers, actual chicken pieces (lug, breast, etc) plus their signature cajun style fries (really good especially when they are fresh like they were today). I went with the shrimp basket. Plenty of shrimp, fries and a biscuit. Shrimp was good and they have good cocktail sauce as well. Also, be forewarned that if you ask for a medium drink it's 32oz if you ask for a large it's like 96oz (ok, not really, but it's weighs in at a hefty 48oz). Drive through order taker was friendly as well as the attendant at the window. Order came up quick, fresh and accurate. If I'm driving through the area I wouldn't hesitate to stop back by this location. Good quick off the highway/back to the drive location. read more

After placing an order at the Atmore, AL Popeye's drive thru, I pulled forward to check the contents of my order. To my disbelief after ordering 2-#4's one blackened and one spicy, the order was wrong for both and biscuit was missing in addition the strawberry Fanta was red seltzer water. I pulled back around thru drive thru at the speaker and advised orders were wrong and Jeremiah asked if I had my receipt or did I eat the food. Apparently one can consume two boxes of food in a matter of 2-3 minutes, I informed him that you gave no receipt the order was placed 3 minutes ago and I used a debit card. Now this is where this goes left, get to window young lady advises she can't take food back but she would make the order correctly and Jeremiah leans out of drive thru window and states I need food back. I didn't care either way however where is the serve safe protocol especially handling items handled by consumers and the flu and Covid are still eminent threats. We pulled forward, got the food bought out order still wrong and chicken tenders were size of McNuggets and they didn't look fully cooked. By the way, both orders at this point were blackened instead of blackened and spicy. I will never eat there again as a civil servant and professional employee. I would recommend you consider all reviews before eating here. Service with an attitude is unacceptable when you are the one that was in the wrong. We first arrived around 10:50am. My daughter and I were driving home and I really had to use the restroom. Since I had not tried one of those amazing chicken sandwiches yet, I decided today was the day. The hours of operation showed that the lobby opened at 10am; however, the door was locked. So, we left, went to McDonalds to use the restroom and get my daughter some food. I decided to come back one more time and they were open. This is without question the best Popeyes restaurant I have ever visited. Today was my fourth visit within the last year and a half. I have traveled back and forth between Atlanta and the Mississippi Gulf Coast numerous times over the last two years. My first two stops were pre-Covid, so I did dine in. Both visits were on a Sunday. Although both had large crowds, the service and the excellence of the food was top-notch. The last two stops were drive-through, as the dining room is currently closed. I did spend 30 minutes in line each time, but that is simply because there was such a long line. The fact that all the restaurants around them have empty parking lots while they have such a large crowd speaks to the quality of their food and service. I highly recommend this location. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. I usually don't even stop at fast food but we're on a road trip. We were misinformed at the drive up speaker and then at the window we were treated rudely for no reason. We asked for napkins and some plates and received bad attitude and when asking for sauce they tried to charge for every sauce. This is after we ordered a 12 piece and two sides. As soon as we asked our first question the manager was called over. The manager immediately gave attitude and short answers. Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen in Atmore AL has the best Cajun spicy (but also serves mild) chicken around. My personal favorite is the #6 - five spicy chicken tenders, biscuit, red beans & rice, hot dipping sauce and a big ole icy sweet tea. The owner works alongside the staff providing prompt, efficient and courteous service. Love that chicken from Popeye's!!! read more
