Finally convinced my husband to get Popeyes, was really looking forward to it! The chicken was not nearly as flavorful and juicy as I remember. it's been so long since i had Popeye's so i decided to have it for lunch today. I ordered the 5pc tenders with red beans and rice. I also ordered the strawberry biscuts since it sounded delicious. I received my order and was immediately disappointed with the size of my rice n beans upon first look in the bag. the size of the container was big enough for a toddler not nearly enough to go with the 5 pc tenders that came with my order.The tenders were more breading then chicken , guess my chicken was on an Atkins diet. We decided to stop on the way home from my son's hockey game in Bridgeport. We saw the Popeye's sign and decided to see if the sandwich was better than Chik-fil-a. The restaurant was very clean. The team behind the counter was polite, friendly and pleasant. The food. I had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich while the rest of my party had regular. The sandwich was excellent! Tender, juicy but not mushy. The breading was crisp and delicious. The spicy sauce on mine was really good too. Cajun fries tasted the same as your normal curly fries (but straight), but also were crisp. Definitely recommend this restaurant! Ordinarily I receive very excellent service when I visit, but Popeyes unfortunately decided to commit the cardinal sin of fast food restaurants and got my order wrong. I ordered the 1/4lb shrimp with 2pc tenders, but the latter part of that was utterly disregarded. I also ordered a fountain drink, but the cashier went ahead and poured me a Coke rather than let me fill my cup myself like the grown adult that I am. Showed up at 9:45, they said they were closed even though the site says open until 11pm. They were not nice.

We've been there twice since they've opened, both times "to-go", so I can't really comment on the vibe inside. We've found the staff to be friendly & knowledgable and really upbeat about their food. We overheard someone say " I have never had your chicken " and the employee replied with, "Oh, it's the best!" When we arrived at the window we had decided last minute to throw in an apple pie, they were really gracious about it and added that they're pies "are real good here, they're fried! You're gonna love it!"-- and we did. Super good! My husband tried both the mild & spicy flavors and enjoyed them both- he felt like all the meat was decent, but really prefers the breast meat. We've tried coleslaw, mashed potatoes, fries, mac n' cheese- it was all good, nothing super spectacular- but good. I tried the original chicken sandwich which I can now call the best chicken sandwich I've had from a fast food restaurant. I have gone to this particular establishment about 3-4 times through the drive thru and each time the employees working the window were very rude. Doesn't seem like any of them have customer service skills which quite honestly is not hard to obtain as I have worked in retail/food service for 7+ years. I was there Sunday night 8/25/19 at 8:50 pm, someone took my order and 20 min later when I drove up to the window no one came out, I waited for someone to show up and finally, a nasty girl came up only to say that no one was there to take care of my order and that no manager was there either. Some else came out to see me upset and shot the window in my face, it was 9: 25 by then. I had to leave all upset and with no food. I believe this is not acceptable at all. Husband and I were hungry and decided to order from Popeyes on 10/15. Once we got to the drive through, the worker was rude. There was no greeting and sounded like they were impatient and wanted us to hurry up with our order. So they can get back to gossiping with each other. They need to be retrained in how to talk to customers when receiving their orders. Workers has an attitude that needs to learn how to be professional or get different workers. Horrible! Our entire experience was horrible! We stopped soon after opening in morning to pick up chicken for our grandchildren for lunch. When we opened chicken at lunch time it was disgusting! Soggy, slimey chicken! Not only was the chicken inedible but we had orderd a 12 piece mixed chicken and we were given 10 pieces of thighs and legs. We tried contacting the Derby Popeyes and phone was constantly busy. Actually it continued to be busy for days! We called the Popeyes Customer Service number on 3 different occasions over the past two weeks and were given a constant promise that we would be hearing from a Manager. What a joke! We will never set foot in that establishment again and it is obvious why the food is so disgusting since the people Who own that Franchise could care less about customer satisfaction.
