Let's talk about it Popeyes... This place is one Health Inspection away from closing down. Like maybe people around this time I went to popeyes to try their ghost pepper wings and get a family meal for dinner. The ghost pepper wings were delicious. Cooked fresh. I strongly recommend them. However the family meal... I understand a mistake of putting chicken in the wrong oil but this wasn't it. The batter was nice. Same taste as always but the chicken itself??? Rotten. Smelled and tasted like fish. I had taken one big bite and one small one just to be sure. Then my fiancé smelled the rest and say they were all that way. He promptly took it back and got a refund however here I am. 2 days later with food poisoning... Please BEWARE. Smell the chicken before consuming!! read more

Dirty establishment with incompetent, shady, & rude staff. WARNING: DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM HERE! THEY WILL GIVE AWAY YOUR NAME & FOOD TO ANYONE & WILL NOT REFUND YOU OR FULFILL YOUR ORDER! I placed an online order via the Popeyes App on 9/7/26 for 5:15 PM at this location. My family & I arrived at the drive thru speaker at 5:16 PM & stated I was there to pick up a mobile order under my name. The woman working the window stated she did not have any order under that name, but did have an order for a Jamie G. We pulled to the window to show my mobile receipt, and before the 30 seconds it took for the receipt email to load we were asked, with attitude, "Do you wanna pull around & come back?". There were NO other customers in the drive thru ahead or behind us. We said OK and circled the building and pulled back around with the loaded receipt email in hand, no other cars came through, we repeated the process at the speaker - we have a mobile order under my name, the woman stated again they did not have my order, but still had an order for a Jamie G. We tell her again that's not our order, we have the receipt, & pull around to show her. She, at first, again denied having received the order. Then looked back at the receipt a second time and stated she had received the order, but a "man in a gray pickup had picked it up through Door Dash and confirmed it". We tell her that's not possible because the order was not placed through Door Dash and we saw the alleged man leave the building with 1 drink & 1 small bag whereas our order was 2 meals and 2 drinks. She scoffed and said "Well he came in and confirmed it and everything so.. I don't know what to tell you. I mean I still have an order for Jamie G.?" We told her we didn't know that man, that the order was again not placed through Door Dash so it was impossible he picked it up for us, Jamie G's order was not our order so we did not want it, and we asked if we could get our food. The woman practically laughed & said "We already made it. The man came and picked it up already." At this point, my family is frustrated with the situation and the woman's attitude, and we ask for a refund. The woman physically recoiled her head back with another scoff and said "We don't do that. You have to go through the app or take it up with Door Dash. We're just a third party, all we do is make the food and hand it off." We leave and place a support claim ticket through the Popeyes Customer Care app where a representative apologized & refunded the order within 48 hours agreeing the restaurant did not fulfill the order. read more

The new wings are terrible. If you order chicken stay with the regular chicken spicy or regular. The wing deals are not the same batter or fried the same. The service was good. Very polite . read more

I don't understand where the one and half star revue is coming from i just moved into Florence this past December and its near this location so i pass it going to and from work I've stopped and ate at this Popeyes about 10 times since then and i absolutely LOVE their food!, the staff and service is great, the ambiance is nice and the food is delicious and at a great price! I prefer Popeyes chicken over chick-fil-a hands down without even thinking about it, it's a night and day difference in the taste of the food, why would you want bland boring seasonless chicken from chick-fil-a when Popeyes actually seasons their food and have better sides and varieties of food such as fish and shrimp that are incredible I mind you. They have a deal going on right now that's my new personal favorite fast food that's 4 pieces of shrimp and two chicken strips and a side and drink for $6! It's perfect! i love popeyes! everybody here is super nice and my food is always really fresh. they also have probably some of the best sweet tea around (if you like it super sweet). the blackened and regular ranch is AMAZING. their new promo cupcake cups are super tasty as well. read more

I used to love Popeyes, but this location has been mediocre at best for the past 2 years. Drive-thru orders are ALWAYS incorrect. Order a large combo, and you'll get reg. size sides. Coke? You'll get diet. And I think they just throw random sauces in the bags. Went through tonight for 2 combos, and AGAIN, I'm let down. Wrong drink, wrong sauces, warm (at best) chicken. I tried to take hubs some hot food for his lunch break and it flopped. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

I try not to make negative reviews on fast food joints as the employees are often underpaid and have an intense workload. With that said the employees that work here haven't a care in the world about anything. Wait times are incredibly long, i stopped taking orders from this location because the wait is just not worth and they usually don't even start the ticket until you walk in. Im often greeted by the employees like I'm an idiot for asking for anything. Nobody cares about anything. Lack of management and no one steering the ship. read more

I ordered 3 spicy chicken sandwiches but got 3 classics instead of what I ordered, this is not the first time this has happened. This place In Florence, AL doesn't even deserve a 1 star. I couldn't get past placing my order because of the order taker who was of color at the drive thru was extremely rude, cut me off while I was speaking & because she couldn't hear me, kept a rude irritated tone with me. Stepping out of my car so she could hear me better didn't help. So when I said I was leaving, she said, OK, that's fine. You hear that pop eyes, your employees are fine with running off customers because they don't wanna be there in the first place. I won't ever be back. read more

The food that I got was pretty good overall, but is very overpriced. I had the chicken sandwich combo meal with regular fries and small drink, and it was $10 including tax. The dining area was nasty. The floors felt and looked like they had not been cleaned in a long time, and the tables and chairs were in disarray and a mess. The drink machine in the dining area did not work, and there were personal items and boxes scattered throughout the dining area. The employees were not necessarily rude, but they also were not very friendly either. 88 health rating, & I'm surprised it was actually that high. I understand that fast food places are probably having a hard time getting employees to work for them at this time, but surely they could do better than this. read more

Apparently they close forty minutes before closing time. I've worked fast food. I understand how long it takes to close down a restaurant, but that is no excuse. Pulled up to the drive thru, after seeing an employee standing in the window I pulled around after sitting at the menu board for almost five minutes. The employee was dropping money into the safe. The lobby door was propped open. Google says they close at 8. Their sign outside says they close at nine. This isn't the first time it's been a hassle to even place an order. They have good food when you're able to place an order. It's a shame their customer service is so awful. Update ; the area manager called to confirm that they were closed early due to staffing issues. I'll try again in the future. I love the food. read more

Dude....why is it every time you better make sure to remember to check your takeout order. Two times in a row where they forget something. No fries and pretty sure half of my 16 piece was actually mild instead of spicy (you Popeyes peeps know the difference). I eat here a lot for dine-in lunch, and yes they mess up sporadically, but come on Man. Y'all try and step your game up cuz I love me some fried chicken (and KFC sucks Update: Almost a year to the day and have eaten here from time to time since. Very sad to say I have filed sanctions and will be enacting a full trade embargo. WTF has happened with your chicken and your service? Received a 16 pc with wings literally the size of my pinky, three breasts with no more meat than my thumb....and it was pretty old chicken too. The absolute worst service and rude employees I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Have eaten at Popeye's in other areas and while I realize this is low pay and part time the people that are working at this one do not belong in anything dealing with human beings. Had my order completely wrong and when I talked to the manager she was the rudest of them all. Would not correct my order because they were out of the frozen mashed potatoes and she would not give me a refund on the dirty rice that was stuck in my bag that I did not order. Management should be fired. The food is awesome as usual, but I have never been to a slower "fast" food restaurant. 90% if the time you will wait more than 20 minutes for your food. I just waited 25 minutes after being told my food would be ready in 3 minutes. For tenders. How do you not have tenders? I once waited for 30 minutes for my food and was given the wrong order anyways. I've been told multiple times that "the poboy machine is down". What is a poboy machine? A toaster? I've been told they didn't serve spicy chicken. I've been told they weren't making anything else with red beans and rice for the night because they weren't going to thaw them out. The staff here is completely useless and filled with rude people, and management obviously is not doing their job. Too bad the food is great or I'd never go back! read more
