My family and I dont often go to Popeyes. Some days just want to use a coupon and save time. Ordered 10 pc with 2 large sides and 5 biscuits but only 4 in the box. Added on a large coleslaw which was only half full. Added on 3 blackened chicken sauce received zero sauce which I had payed extra for. Bottom line I feel like they are thieving me. I called the store they picked up the phone did not answer and left it off the hook. Again and again the phone is busy. They obviously do not want to stay in business. In looking at the reviews there was a big cluster of complaints recently. This is a very bad manager. Look at the other reviews. They obviously have no desire to do a good job. Came here with a craving for their wings hoping to do a quick pick up on the way home. Fast food should be quick rather than having to wait 45 min and still not getting the full order. They did not have their new sauce despite it being on all their advertising around the restaurant. They did not have cole slaw as a side. I ordered and paid for an apple pie and after 45 min was told it would be another half hour if I wanted one. Instead they decided to substitute a fries rather than issuing a refund since I was not willing to wait that long. Clearly this branch is dysfunctional as fast food is meant to be quick and nothing they did was quick and a majority of their menu was out of stock. The people in front of me were also complaining as they waited more than 35 min for a chicken sandwich. On 8/19/25. My kids wanted Popeyes, and since I was in the area, I decided to stop by. When I pulled into the drive-thru, the employee taking orders seemed rushed and annoyed--even though I was the only car in line and the location wasn't busy at all. I placed my order, but when I got to the pickup window, the same employee just looked at me without saying anything, so I handed him my card to pay. After glancing at my receipt, I noticed one of the items I had ordered was missing. When I asked about it, he said I hadn't been charged for it. I told him I still wanted it and handed him my card again. After a short wait, I received my food. I parked to check the order and saw that the sandwiches were thrown loosely in the bag--they looked like they'd been kicked around. I wish I had taken a picture. At that point, I was frustrated but chose to leave rather than cause a scene. Unfortunately, the service and food presentation at this location (4270 US-9, Howell, NJ) were unacceptable. I wanted something real quick to eat and wanted to try the beignets. When I arrived there was no wait. A young lady took my order. I got the 2 piece and a biscuit with the 3 piece beignets. It came to a little over $8. When I got in I ate and the chicken was salty and the beignets looked nothing like the picture. No powdered sugar and not enticing. Always filling and crispy -- ordered the classic chicken sandwich and regular cajun fries today. Not sure what's up with their strictness around sauces, charging extra asking for packets at the drive-thru, but if you ask right before driving away they'll hand it to you for free. This time was just one packet as usual, still enough for this meal though. My hype for this sandwich has been there since the chicken sandwich war with Chick-Fil-A in late 2019 (this one I like more), but it's starting to excite me less and less each time I get it, and I noticed it's priced higher now. Honestly, this place was flipping delicious ! I wish I had something new and constructive to add but mostly I just had this meal with a great big smile on my face. BUT LET ME TELL YOU... the magic is in the dipping sauces !!! The dipping sauces are wonderful and you have an option of standard buttermilk ranch, which is so smooth and savory. However, the star of the show, In my opinion, is the BLACKENED RANCH!! Because omg, ranch is ten times better with blackened peppercorns!! I ordered a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and let me tell you, these are not your average cafeteria\hospital style mashed potatoes. They taste like they were made right at your house for Sunday dinner. And the gravy ?? Oh yes, it was homestyle delicious flavor that pairs perfectly with the potatoes. When I got home, a 20 minute drive away, we want though our order only to discover that an eight piece chicken strip meal was missing which meant another 20 minute drive back to the store to pick up the missing items. Flounder, catfish, shrimp, fries or Coca Cola... everything on the menu has been deep fried until the confession has been rendered and all taste has been purged. The coating is slathered on by the gallon and easily overwhelms everything, ensuring that each item is indistinguishable from the next right down to the burnt Cajun aftertaste. This is for the new unit on Rt9 near the Costco. I order a 4 piece dinner with dark meat. This is supposed to be 4 pieces of chicken. They weren't busy so the screw up had no reason to happen. They gave me ice cold french fries, 3 pieces of chicken and they were all white meat. I called the manager but he didn't seem to give a shit... so I called their corporate office...
