Yelp to the rescue again!…read more As with another yelper, I also grew up in Southern California, and spent half my life there. And then spent another 15 in Texas, and ate my way all over the Southwest. Get there early - when I arrived at 7, they were out of carne asada and picodillo. I ended up getting the taco dinner with carnitas. It ended up being a very good choice; most times I get carnitas, the meat is fatty and too chewy for my taste. These carnitas were lean, and muy delicioso. My heart skipped a beat when I saw they had elotes (Mexican corn). It's just as good as what I would get at 2 am at Fuel City in Dallas. I also got a couple churros for the road (my plan was to dip them in a Culver's concrete mixer, but they didn't make it that far). The churros were fresh out of the fryer, nice and hot and crunchy. I was too full to try the tamales. Maybe next time. They now accept credit cards with a minimum purchase of $5. Joliet is lucky to have this place. You will never look at Taco Bell the same. It's kind of difficult to get to it, just follow the US 52 signs. It's worth the drive.

Absolutely the best tacos around. Their menu is small, but…read morewhat they do put out is top notch. A MUST try little place.

We came here as my dad frequents this casino often. We had heard good things about Tortazo…read more First off, I have to say that the staff was outstanding and went absolutely above and beyond. It seems like they've been in business for some time and they are providing excellent customer service. Food itself was okay - the guacamole was good, wings were tasty, salad was okay. I got the same feedback about my parents' tortas. I think they have a good concept though and hope that it comes to life a little more. As I said though, staff was the standout here. They were excellent. Food may need some tweaks but there's promise here. Location is modern for being in this casino. I hope to see it evolve more with flavor of the food.

We had a Cubana sandwich which was delicious, very large, rich and filling. A bit different than other Cubano sandwich's I've had but variety is the spice of life! Not cheap at $18, but you get what you pay for. We also had the tortilla soup with chicken. Absolutely delicious and a large bowl, with a bit of fresh cilantro, onions and chip strips to add crunch and more flavor. The bowl of soup is a meal itself. Inside Harrahs casino so I'd doubt they get much business other than casino patrons, which may not be their target audience, but I hope they hang around!

Today we ordered a maple bacon milkshake, peanut butter milkshake, 1/4 pound grilled cheese burger on toast, 1/2 pound New Orleans burger and a shareable basket of parmesan truffle fries. Let's start with the positives, the shakes were well made and not overwhelmingly sweet and we liked that a lot. My husband's 1/2 pound burger seemed a little small and my grilled cheese burger said it would be on Texas toast but it seemed like it was sourdough bread and not really thick cut like Texas toast should be. I was looking forward to eating here because the pictures of the fries online looked long and thick cut, the basket of fries we got didn't look like that at all and lacked Parmesan cheese. The negative experience was the fact the water tasted weird. I took one sip and tasted a weird chemical taste but my husband and I didn't complain, we just paid and left. I don't know if it was the water or the cup but it definitely had a weird taste. Overall, the experience was ok. I think we had higher expectations seeing all the pictures online. The name of the place threw us both off because we thought it was a Latino owned burger joint with a Mexican twist but that wasn't the case at all.
