Can I give it a 0? Something just seems off about this place since they reopened. I waited in line inside for 10 minutes. During my wait they helped literally 1 customer with actually attaining food and then decided the door dash drivers that arrived after 12 people in line were now more important. I decided to leave as did the three customers behind me. There was bolts laying on the counter that looked to belong to something and a 4 tier rack up against the counter for online orders which looked to be directly in their way. You could see in multiple places that pictures had fallen off the walls. What exactly is going on in this place? I cannot rate the food today because I never got any. read more

Totally not impressed. I ordered the local fried fish special, it was three small pieces of rock hard fried fish. It doesn't even show up on the Popeye's website menu so it must truly be a local thing. I wasn't even able to identify the type of fish because the breading was nothing like Popeye's breading. It was hard as a rock. The last few bites of the last piece tasted like rotten fish out of a dumpster so that didn't leave a good taste in my mouth (literally). The biscuit was hard, but edible. I had to crumble it into my rice and beans because it was too dry to eat by itself. The rice and beans were fine - but the container was only half full. Too bad because that was the only truly enjoyable part of the meal. I will never return to this location. Popeyes is one of my favorite fast food restaurants and, over the years, I've had lots of great meals at their restaurants. This location, however, has ruined me for a while. Blech. read more

First timer...I've heard their chicken blows KFC outta the water. Verdict: TRUE. I did the spicy, which actually isn't that spicy. Love a good fry, super crispy skin that flakes off and the chicken was moist and juicy inside. The biscuit was pretty sad, flat and dry. The mashed potatoes were no KFC potatoes. Why the two stars? Well, the service was awful. The employee running the drive-through was rude and not helpful. I asked for white meat only and he basically yelled through the speaker, "That will be an additional $1.69." Ummm, like okay, it's not like I didn't request it. And is it that much of and inconvenience for you?? NO. He's not even the one making the chicken! Hands me food with no drink even though I ordered the combo meal. When I asked for it, I got an eye roll and told, "I didn't charge you for a combo meal, I charged you for a dinner. If you want a drink I'll have to run your card again." Seriously??? It's a fountain soda. Literally cost the chain $.05 and I specifically asked for the combo. What happened to good old customer service. Get your staff together Popeyes. Absolutely the worst chicken I have ever had. My order of 4 piece chicken (around 2pm) included very small pieces that looked like it was left out overnight and became dry with weird dark areas. I detract one star for the fact that you gave me the choice of mild or spicy, only to follow it up by telling me you're out of spicy. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and had a tough time with the weird drive through configuration (directly next to Long John Silvers) but everything else was excellent. Awful experience. Went in with a large order - and upon returning hone a few pieces were missing. Called the store and had someone with a nasty and LAZY attitude. My two options were: drive back to the store for my food or drive back to the store to void the items and then rering what I did purchase for payment. Only in person. No offer for a gift card, credit nothing. and NO apology. So basically they just got to keep the $20 AND my meal they didn't give me. Mistakes happen. Lazy incompetence and willful ignorance is a choice. No way in hell these workers should be making $15+ for minimum wage when they couldn't be less bothered to perform their job right in the first place or resolve ANY issues when it's their mistake. I've eaten at the particular location on occasions and I've issues in the past but I've dropped them b/c I like their chicken. The customer service here is sad. I went tonight for tenders and fries(yum), I ordered a LARGE fry and when I got home and opened the box there were only a handful inside, MIND YOU FOR 5$ & not only that they were COLD!! Then I ordered the tenders, they were out, ordered the chicken sandwich, they were out. I ordered a side of gravy, I like to dip my fries in it & it was HALF FULL! HALF FULL, for 2.50$. I had eaten at one in York, decades ago when they had radio ads that their chicken "wakes up your mouth!". Recently, I visited the Lancaster location with a friend and they were (mid-day) out of certain types of chicken (they claimed) so my friend ordered the mild and I, of course, ordered the Spicy. She did NOT care for the "mix" she got (things they were supposedly out of) nor how greasy it was (well, the coating was, the breast meat was fairly dry and had been under the warmer for quite awhile). My "Spicy" was just barely more spicy than my friend's mild. I've eaten Cajun already and this didn't come close. The attendant charged me full price for a drink and chicken while she gave a meal deal discount to my friend. I don't think I'll be back. read more

I'm giving an actual good update for once. See, for a while now, I've gone in about every month, and sometimes, the employees interact with me in a positive way. I've had them talk to me about wrestling or how my day is. Today, one of the employees asked about my hat that I got at Saturday's Market. I told him about it and he listened. Well, aside from that, I got my usually 5 Tenders meal with the Blackened Ranch sauce, and that sauce makes it a bit more spicy. I got a 4 piece white meat spicy with mashed potatoes and Diet Coke . We also got 2 red velvet cake desserts. When I got the food at the drive thru I parked in a spot to check the bag because I knew something would be wrong. When I started to look I immediately saw no dessert, then I see a guy walking out with them, he said I'm glad you didn't leave yet and gave me the desserts, before he walked away I noticed there was no blackened ranch so off he went to get that. Then I opened my chicken and it wasn't white meat, lol, he brought out the ranch and off he went again to get the right chicken. So I finally had the right order until I realized I had regular coke not diet. Lol whatever, I drank it. And my chicken, well it tasted like it was a couple days old. Completely dried out. I ordered a special for two meal which was supposed to have 2 Legs, Thigh, Wing, and a Breast an order of fries a mash & gravy. The order came with 2 drumsticks thigh and a wing. The fries were wilted and the mash potatoes and gravy had a taste I couldn't place so they went in the trash. I ate a few if the fries but they also ended up in the trash. The chicken was cold and had to be reheated, it was okay not like I remembered. They guy at the drive through handed me the bag and kept it moving not saying anything at all and shut the window. Needless to say I didn't get any hot sauce or honey butter for my two small dried biscuits. The service wasn't good and the food was even less then I remembered when I went to Popeyes in other states. I did enjoy the one in Philadelphia . The food here is amazing! Only complaint is often when I go here they are out of the specials they are running and that is usually the only reason why I go. Also the sweet tea is always a hit or miss you either get an amazing drink or a horrible one that taste sour and like it's been sitting there. I also have often had to pull ahead after paying for my food because it isn't ready that is not fast food to me especially when the one time I sat there for 15 minutes waiting for my food. The employees always seem miserable or have a slight attitude especially when you ask them to repeat something through the drive through speaker since the speaker clearly needs to be replaced and constantly cuts out. The inside is clean and pretty spacious no complaints there. The reason I am sticking with the 4 star review is because the food honestly is very good that's the only thing that keeps me coming back! read more

I like Popeyes for certain things, so I have given them a lot of leeway with mistakes but not anymore. I place an online order at 1030 for pick up at 11am. Upon arriving to pick up the order they informed me that they won't be open until 12 noon. They are supposed to be open starting at 1030am. I order online so as to expedite thins so I can get back to work on time. So i went back to work w/o my lunch. Another employee went back to there at 12pm to pick up my order for me and they still had to pull off and wait 10 minutes to get the food, so they were almost late getting back. I understand at 12pm they might not have expected someone to show an hour later for their food but even after waiting the order was wrong. Wrong Chicken, no condiments, no straw, no biscuit, no napkins. I had taken a break from the place for a few months as they ALWAYS mess up something on the order. They also always make me pull ahead and wait for my order whether it is online ahead of time or in person. Wow. This place is a dumpster fire. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. From them typing in the wrong order, to them repeatedly not giving me what I ordered. The place had about 10 people working there and they weren't busy. In the time that we were there 3 groups of customers, including myself, had issues with their orders and how much they were charged. I really like Popeye's shrimp Po Boy which I usually get at Popeye's restaurants away from my home town of Lancaster when I am working. The last couple of times I tried to buy lunches at the Lancaster Popeye's, the shrimp Po Boy was still on the menu board and you could still get a chicken Po Boy and shrimp dishes, but they tell me they discontinued the shrimp Po Boy. Have all Popeye's discontinued the shrimp Po Boy? If they make chicken Po Boy's and they have shrimp, why can't they make a shrimp Po Boy? Also, the last time, I also tried to order the spicy chicken strips that were a special and they were out of those as well. The prices are a bit high but constant specials are like half off making for great value, notably the M-F $3.99 lunch special. I am a fan of Popeye's, but this location is always a hit or miss with specials. About 75% of the time, they no longer have the advertised specials. The service always seems to be friendly, upbeat, and for the most part pretty fast. I had visited this week, the start of the Surf & Turf special, and for once was able to get ahold of it. Everything was prepared correctly, and the chicken was crispy. The fries however, tasted like they had been sitting out half the day and were not very good or warm. read more
