One sitting (assuming manager) talking to two employees, one in the kitchen, and one at the cash register. No one greeted us. Understandable, so we went inside. As soon as we get someone to take our order they start getting people through the drive through. The only problem I would say this location needs to work on is the drive thru and offer straws near the drink machine. *I highly recommend ordering your food online ahead of time to avoid the long wait. All of the eating utensils, straws, napkins, sauces, and lids are behind the cashier counter. The lobby and environment here at this location is very clean, peaceful and relaxing. One customer waited in complaining that the restrooms smell like sewage. 2 people who ordered after me got their food before I did. I will not come here again after my experience. read more

If you could get it, the food is good. But they're always out of everything. Take what they have or take a hike. Service is nonexistent. Either understaffed or they don't care. Ambiance is a dirty greasy chicken joint. Really sad as it's been like that for a long while. Great location that will eventually turn into a medical marijuana dispensary I'm sure. read more

The food is always hot and made on time in most cases there are more non sugars choices then anywhere else the chicken is fresh and tender no sugar in the batter or flour so there's not a sweet or overwhelming taste of spices. You can definitely eat here more then once a week and if you do have a sweet tooth there strawberry cheesecake fried pie is amazing. The cashiers are glad to see you and seem well ready to complete there task to the best of there knowledge and ability , managers are ready to help out at a moment's notice from what I seen the lighting is good and the place has good customers from what I noticed from all walks of life some from other states and even countries like Japan , although some customers can be difficult to deal with I believe the management has a way of dealing with problems and assuring it doesn't escalate into a bigger problem. I am a very nice person, the woman serving me didn't say a SINGLE word to me. I said thank you several times (after she took my order at the drive through, handed me my drink, food, card back) and she just stared at me. I went there at 10:30am on a Sunday and they didn't have French fries ready (they open at 10am). I asked for spicy and I got regular, which seems to be a trend as I'm reading through the rest of these reviews. The final straw for me was the Mac and cheese. It was old and mushy. Absolutely disgusting. Additionally, I feel like some of my chicken was out of date because of how mushy it was, too. Management needs to get involved on this, or even needs to be replaced. First off, I love Popeyes and was pretty excited to see one just off the Highway. But that's were the excitement ended for this particular stop. Long story short from the time I placed my order to the time I got it was about 50 minutes. I put my order in through the Popeyes app. I arrived 20 minutes later. I went to use the restroom and it was non operational and absolutely disgusting. Good news a fellow in the back came out to clean it before I left. Bad news poor guy had to clean it. Anyways, so I wait in line while the lady talked on the phone and filled the man's order in front of me. When it was my turn, my order was still on the machine. This was now about 25 minutes since I ordered. The lady grabbed my order and picked her phone back up to talk some more. More people come in and are now waiting in line as she continues to talk on her phone. About 35 minutes in and she sets out my order. Well I check it and it is missing a large side and a drink. I bring it to her attention and she gets off the phone to argue with me. She finally checks the receipt and there they are. As she begins to get the remaining item's customers start walking out that had been waiting in line this whole time. What a disappointment! Before a tornado wrecked this Popeye' s last year, we would try to stop in and enjoy a delicious meal every chance we could get. The store manager was polite, professional, end engaging to everyone each time we were there and the food was great. Around a year later, give or take a few months, this store reopened as a pale mirage of what it once was. This is the second trip we have taken to this store since it reopened and is amazingly worse than the inaugural visit to what was once one of our favorite places to get a quick bite to eat. While the staff was not unpleasant, one could tell she was just waiting to clock out. On top of that, we ordered 12 pieces of all dark meat (legs and thighs), spicy chicken, what we got was 9 pieces of mostly dry, tough, flavorless chicken (3 drumsticks and 6 breasts, none spicy). We even went inside to make sure the cashier would hear exactly what we ordered, the cashier even repeated our order back to us so we did not think to double check our (chicken only) order. While we are not upset about the cashier (we have all been very ready to clock out on more than a few occasions) someone in that store needs to be trained on not only how to recognize what each piece of chicken looks like , but also on recognizing the different products AND how to count. We walk in and go to the counter no one says anything to us. Supervisor/Manager looks straight at us and says absolutely nothing. Two employees walk be the front counter multiple times and also looked at us and walked away never acknowledging us. I just had the most terrifying experience with the store manager Jennifer, if that's even her real name. Only 1 person in front of me, drive-thru is always closed, I had to wait 10 mins and by then I decided not to order anything after I see the manager saying back by the food. 4 employees working and they are always slow. I asked the girl if I can get the District managers number and she went back to the manager and told her that I saw her vaping and changed my mind. The manager stormed up to me with a very angry face and was rude and verbally abusive. I said I saw you raping and decided not to eat here. She said she was using her inhaler...right! I have an inhaler and they don't emit smoke/vapor. She was mad she got caught and I called her out. She then began screaming and cursing at me to leave "her" store right now or she was going to call the cops. I said call them! After the tornado hit it, they took the opportunity to give th restaurant a face-lift. That did little to change the customer service and quality of the food. The ambience here is like going back to a toxic relationship. Sometimes it's good, overall it's bad. I had a coupon, and wasn't informed it didn't ring up and was charged full price. I thought maybe something was an upcharge, or taxes, but when I looked at my receipt it didn't get put in. When I went in to try and fix it th cashier who claimed to be a manager dismissed me. Absolute garbage waited 20 minutes there was a bug in my sweet tea and the chicken taste like rubber

I've only been here a few times the past 3 years and I'm reminded each time why I don't come back. The customer service is always bad, food takes forever and is not as ordered. Last time I was there was 19 September 2020, they charged me $3.50 for a gallon of Tea and 2.49 for a Large drink I didn't order. I didn't realize they overcharged me until after I had my receipt. They wanted to give me a $1.75 refund.... I called their corporate number to see if anyone would give me a refund for the drinks I didn't order or receive (not the entire order). They claimed they would refund me, but never did. I will never return, and I suggest you do the same. read more

Disgusting and unsafe. My wife and I came here last night to get chicken sandwiches for dinner. After waiting about 5 minutes with no response from the drive up screen, a lady finally answered. We ordered and continued to drive around and then waited behind a couple cars to pay. As we waited we could see the cashier who was wearing a Nike Hoodie wipe her nose with her hand and then put her fingers in her mouth. She did not have a mask on or gloves while serving customers their food. We were absolutely appalled and left immediately. This is totally unacceptable during this COVID-19 period or any other time to say the least. We went to Chick-Fil-A across the street where the were taking every precaution to keep their customers safe with face masks, touch less pay and receiving options. I love Popeyes Chicken but I will NEVER come back to this location. They are going to spread disease and get people sick. Management and Corporate really need to step up how they handle their food and protect their customers. read more

I went through the drive through, as per usual now, and was told I needed to wait 13 minutes if I wanted the mild chicken. I said it was fine and then waited 20 minutes by a trash can for them to bring out the food. I realized immediately that we were missing parts of our order. I tried calling the number on the receipt. It rang for several minutes and finally someone picked up and then hung up without saying anything. I tried calling back, in case it was a mistake. It rang for several minutes again and I just got back into the drive through. I got the rest of my order. The food was mostly good, as usual but the "butterfly" shrimp was ridiculous. This place is pathetic! Worst customer service ever. Bought $40 worth of chicken here on 5/12/19 and had major issues. Called corporate and nothing was resolved. We will NEVER waste our money here again, especially considering there are numerous other restaurants that serve quality food within a couple of miles of this place. If I ran this place, I'd go in and clean house. Here's a pic of the workers too busy drinking sodas and visiting in the kitchen to notice there were numerous customers at the counter. I reside in California and have been a loyal Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen (PLK) fan for many years! Although I enjoy eating at PLK, I had the following issue at a PLK store which needs to be addressed for consumer's awareness: Two weeks before arriving to visit family for Thanksgiving in Shawnee, Oklahoma, I called a PLK store located at 4721 N Kickapoo Ave, Shawnee, OK 74804 (and pre-ordered two Cajon Styles Turkeys (each at $39.99) on the telephone. I attempted to pay for the order, but the PLK employee told me that they only accept payment in-person at the store. I informed the employee that I was out-of-state and unable to make a payment until I arrive, which would be about three days before Thanksgiving. The employee ensured me that this wouldn't be a problem due to plenty of Turkey's being in stock and that no one was making an effort to purchase them. I was told that both turkeys would be waiting for me. On Saturday, five days before Thanksgiving, I called the PLK store to re-confirm my reservation for two turkeys. Upon speaking with the store manager, I was informed that she sold all their in-stock turkeys, which included my two reserved turkeys. I expressed my concerns regarding the promise made to me by her employee. She responded back indicating that my problem was not her problem. Instead, she indicated that her employee did not follow store policy and that he would be getting fired. I informed her that this issue should not be a termination matter. I also asked that she make a good effort in locating two turkeys that were promised to be held for me. The store manager continued refusing to accommodate my request. After continuous haggling with the store manager, she directed me to contact the regional manager. Upon doing so, the regional manager told me what I wanted to hear by saying she would make an effort to find me two turkeys. Based on our conversation, I sensed that she had no desire to make an effort to accommodate me. So before ending our conservation, I asked her to call me back for an update. She indicated that she would re-contact me. Being that I didn't believe her, I decided to buy one PLK turkey costing $49.99 in California, a cooler, and bag of ice to transport it across four state-lines to Oklahoma. During the entire trip and to this day, I still have not heard from the regional manager who promised to call me back for an update. For this reason, I decided to write this negative review; not against the PLK chain, but against the store manager and the regional manager who operates the PLK store located in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Their professionalism in solving customer issues are the worst I have ever seen. Instead of making an diligent effort to fix the problem created by this particular store, their solution was to wrongfully fire an employee based on their lack of management and training skills. I still enjoy and recommend other customers to partake at PLK, but I do not recommend supporting the PLK store located in Shawnee, Oklahoma. I suggest that customers avoid this particular establishment by choosing a different store location to dine. Also I suggest that customers call this particular store at (405) 275-9157 to voice their concerns about wrongfully firing an employee who more likely only needs to be properly managed and trained. If corporate is reading this negative review, I suggest that this particular store, mainly referring to the store manager and regional manager, receive additional leadership and management training in regards to better handling customer needs. Operating a business is more than just making a profit. Without customers, there will not be any profit. There are many Popeyes establishments where a friendly and efficient staff serve a very tasty product proudly. Unfortunately Popeyes in Shawnee fails in both product quality and service. I have been a fan of Popeyes and before that Copelands (you old timers may remember) for many years, but in numerous trips to the Shawnee restaurant have been consistently disappointed. Most frequently they are out of product, or what they do have is far over the corporate dictated hold time. The staff has virtually no consideration for the customer....you know those of us that keep them employed. On my last visit two employees were loudly discussing how much they disliked the manager, and the last minute schedule changes. This protracted discussion took place while I was the second person in line....all the while the lady patiently waiting ahead of me had not been greeted or allowed to give her order. Chick-fil-A has recently opened right next door. Unless an aggressive management team brings this store up to Popeyes standards, I fear there will be a vacant building on North Kickapoo.....of course that would mean more parking for Starbucks and Chick-fil-A......and that would be good. read more
