I've been to this drive thru a few times and haven't had any issues with the order or the food until the most recent visit. I did not like the coleslaw. It was cold, like it came out the fridge, but it had a weird taste to it. So after a couple bites, I was done with it. Also I ordered a 2 piece and asked for a breast and a wing. I'm always smelling chicken when I walk out of the gym or Ross in this plaza. I always go through the drive-thru and I've NEVER had a bad experience with the customer service here. Everyone has been nice and service is fast. I usually just get the spicy chicken sandwich and that's it. I haven't gone inside yet so I can't make a statement there but perhaps will update my review if I ever step inside. This place is fine! I'm guessing I got lucky? Because I had fresh and juicy chicken, and the spicy chicken sandwich remained consistent from the many Popeyes I've been to! Sure it was not the best thing, but it was close to how I remembered it. My only issue is asking for permission to use the bathroom and the staff telling me wait a minute, and I'd had to ask again. This has been the nicest location I've ever entered! Due to it being new to the area, at least a year or so old, would explain why it's still so appealing and clean. Why can't all locations look this great? Lol. My husband and I specifically came to Popeyes to take advantage of his bonus points in his app he had recently just earned. Well... get this. The restaurant does not have the scanners installed to scan the app allowing customers to use their points. NONE in the Sacramento area do. Awesome job, Popeyes. Sure hope you get it together because you're going to lose a lot of business if you don't get those scanners installed ASAP. Since we were already here my husband ordered his usual meal, chicken tenders and popcorn shrimp. Food is always stellar, crisp and juicy tenders along with flavorful and crispy shrimp as well. Maybe the worst fast food experience I have had. Drove up to the window and told the lady what I wanted. And it was simple. "Regular chicken sandwich with no pickles, and a small diet coke". And that was it. Lady on the other end had a extremely heavy accent that was tough to make out what she was saying. And she seem to be having trouble on her side too as had to continually repeat myself. Voice system may have been not good. We eventually finished, and I summarized my order one more time. Drove up to the window where one pays and gets their food order. Price they charged seemed high, but did not question immediately given how much food costs have increased at Popeye's and really fast food in general. When she handed me my food, looked inside as she went to get the drink. They had included fries (and charged me when I looked at the receipt). Unbelievable as we never talked fries. So gave back the fries and they did a credit card refund for the difference. During that refund process (took a while as lady at window could not do and another came to help her), pulled out the chicken sandwich and looked on the wrapper for the stuff they write on it when the sandwich is not made the regular way. Nothing there. So when they finally come back with the credit card refund, ask to make sure they did not include the pickles. The lady who had taken over at the window said it had pickles. Unbelievable. Offered to redo the sandwich, but with three other cars behind me waiting to pick up their food, I declined and went on my way, not in a particularly good mood. When I got to my destination and started to eat, with the first drink of the coke, it was obviously regular flavor as opposed diet. Unbelievable. Not sure how they could have screwed up any more. Got the simple order wrong. Overcharged me as a result. Added unwanted pickles. Regular coke instead of diet. Absolutely no sign from them that they cared, and certainly no apology. We just bought lunch. The food and service were ok. I chose the #1 (the sandwich). I chose the combo because right above the list of combo meals, the menu board states that a combo comes with a biscuit and one side. I wanted to try the biscuit, so I ordered the combo. None of us got biscuits in spite of all of us ordering combos. When asked, the guy who rang us up stated that biscuits only come with tenders or pieces of chicken meals. So, only half of the combo meal options come with biscuits? I feel like that should be more clearly stated. Not to mention that when I got my sandwich, it nowhere near resembled the one pictured on the menu. No pickles, barely any sauce. I basically got a chicken and bun with a drop of sauce.
