I also appreciate that every table comes with olive oil and vinegar. We ordered the mentai cream pasta and the uni pasta. The mentai pasta was packed with umami and the pasta itself was cooked perfectly al dente. The nori and mushrooms paired really well with the sauce as well. The uni pasta was just as good. The sauce was rich and creamy and the uni on top was fresh and buttery. The meal also comes with complimentary bread and salad. The salad was light and refreshing which helped balance out the richness of the pasta. The bread was simple but great for dipping in olive oil and vinegar. The service is always friendly and efficient. If you're a fan of Japanese Italian fusion, this place is definitely worth a visit. Servers were super friendly immediately upon walking in. Luckily, there was no wait when we came since this spot is quite small. Servers were able to quickly take our order and food came out in less than 10-15 minutes. It's nice that they provide salad and bread as sides with each pasta order. I've been to the Little Tokyo location, but this one was just as great. It wasn't busy on a weekend afternoon and we were seated immediately. Came here for Japanese Italian fusion so we had to order the Uni and Mentai Cream Pasta. Typically a lot of uni pastas I've tried elsewhere tend to be light and a bit dry, without enough uni flavors but this has all the rich uni cream sauce with fresh uni on top. Lunch time was off to a great start with their complimentary side salad + bread roll with butter! Both were tasty and held me down for their delicious pasta to come. There are olive oil and a spicy oil that you can accompany with your pasta. Uni Pasta (4/5): The uni pasta sauce was a light creamy base mixed in with the uni. I thought the dish was slightly more umami but perhaps cooking it may enhance the flavor more. Bolognese (4.5/5): Red sauce was aromatic and meaty, but not overwhelming. Every bite had bits of meat and is filling and hearty. I enjoy tomato sauces much more after this dish! Our lunch here was amazing to say the least! This restaurant is well worth the hype! I'm so glad they expanded to this location so I no longer need to go to Little Tokyo to enjoy these noodles. We came right when it opened on a weeknight and there was no wait. Here's what we got: Mentai Cream Japanese Style ($22) The cod roe cream sauce absolutely blew my mind! It had a umami of seafood flavor and it wasn't too heavy. The noodles were cooked al dente and gripped onto the sauce really well. I've been meaning to try this place for a while, but hadn't had the chance until now. My friends were visiting and wanted to eat here since they've been to the other location and were curious to see which one was better. This location is in the plaza next to the super busy one on South, and I'm so glad it's a separate plaza because parking is much easier here. The restaurant itself is pretty small, so it has limited seating. On especially busy days, you might have to wait a bit to get seated. I wouldn't recommend walking in with a large party due to the limited number of tables; maybe calling ahead to check wait times would be a good idea. Since the space is small, you do have to wait outside if it is busy. Fortunately, we arrived just before a bunch of other parties, so our wait wasn't too long; it was about a 10 minute wait for a table to be cleaned and set. Once seated and after ordering, they brought out the bread and salad. The bread was warm, which was a nice touch. The salad was also good. It was slightly vinegary for one of my friends, but my other friend and I thought it was refreshing. I ordered the Japanese-style mentai cream pasta, and it was really good. My friends ordered different pasta dishes, and I tried theirs as well; they were equally delicious. The cod roe added a nice depth to the creamy sauce. I also really loved the added mushrooms. Went for a early dinner for my parents birthday. Comfy and homey vibe inside the restaurant. Luckily we were able to avoid the line but even at the earlier time, the restaurant was filled! Only good experiences here :) I've tried the uni and bolognese pastas, which are Pasta e Pasta's specialties. Both are delicious. The cream mentai pasta is also a very popular item, though my dining partners have told me that the cream sauce quickly congeals as the pasta cools. Just something to keep in mind. More recently, I tried the bolognese, which smells AMAZING. I suppose if you are not a garlic fan, then this would not be the dish for you. The bolognese is so warm and hearty, made with good quality tomatoes and olive oil, and the addition of eggplant to the meat sauce gives the dish some more substance than pasta and sauce. Also love that the pasta always comes out very hot but very al dente, which is my personal preference. October 23, 2025 decided to try this new place for dinner after picking up prescription glasses at Visionworks across the street. I'm glad we did. We walked in and we received excellent customer service definitely a Japanese/Italian style food. I have to say everything on the menu looked delicious but what we had was delicious first dish was carbonara, which comes with a small salad and bread and bolognese pasta which had eggplant in it, which was pretty good. Small little restaurant but all was good. I had the two recommended types of pasta. The one with the uni and the one with the roe. I had the crab drip too! The crab dip had a little too much pasta in it as fillers...so it was good but definitely can skip. The other two pastas were heavy but light at the same time due to the angel hair pasta. My coworkers and I went here for our team building lunch. I was super excited because I've never had Japanese pasta done quite like this. It's like Japanese, Italian fusion. 1st the inside is cute and cozy and our waitress was super sweet. I ordered the pescatore Bianca and it did not disappoint! The portions are pretty big. Inside, it's not as deep as Little Tokyo, so to avoid a wait, definitely try to go during opening hours. I had no problems getting a table for 4 for Sunday lunch at 11:40 am and noticed it filled up an hour later. Service was great - patient and attentive servers that kept our waters filled and anticipated needs we would have with a baby in the party. We stuck with our usual, which was uni pasta ($28) and carbonara ($22). Both were creamy and delicious. We finished both pastas in one sitting! I was hesitant to try the mentai pasta because I don't usually like mentaiko but everyone raved about it so I had to get what they are known for. After recently trying the Little Tokyo location, I finally got to try the Cerritos location. Came on a Friday evening for dinner ~7:15PM and there was actually no wait for a group of 5--maybe the hype has died down, but I'm not complaining! It's still as good as I was always told. For the main course I got the tomato cream with spinach and shrimp; they give you plenty of pretty big shrimp. The tomato cream sauce I would say isn't super creamy (it's more tomato-y than creamy), so if you're looking for something really cream based you may want to opt for the other options. It still tastes primarily like a tomato sauce. But, it was still bright, robust, and delicious! Food came out very fresh and hot tasting, and presentation was good. We shared the chicken gizzard in confit which was quite interesting and pretty tasty, goes pretty well with the bread they give you; if you don't like chicken gizzard though you probably won't like it. That reminds me once of a date I went on where there was chicken gizzards on the menu. My date was like, "what the heck are those?" I responded that I used to eat gizzards as a kid a lot. Unfortunately, it was loud in the restaurant and she said, "...you used to eat... what?" "Gizzards!" I replied, to which she said "WHAT?! why would you tell me that?". Later on that night she told me I should go see a therapist for what happened to me, to which I was very confused. But, at least she walked away knowing what gizzards are. Anyways, parking can be tricky in this lot when it's busy, but you should be able to find parking somewhere. Service was great and the food came out really fast (much like the Little Tokyo location!) The interior is very warm and cozy despite the unassuming parking lot it's located in. I was seated right away on a Wednesday at 7pm. We ordered the Beef Ragu and the Mentaiko Cream. Both were solid pastas across the board. The beef in the Beef Ragu was a little tough to chew through but I loved the sauce and the noodles weren't greasy at all. The Mentaiko Cream was also solid, not too heavy. The portions are HUGE, I couldn't finish in one sitting. There's bits of penne pasta inside, but I also liked spreading it on my bread. The Uni pasta was phenomenal. The uni paired well with the creamy sauce and everything was seasoned beautifully. It was very easy to eat - sometimes pasta is too rich that it's hard to power through. Not this pasta. This pasta is perfect. The noodles are al dente. The sauce is just right.
