Judgemental and selective. Don't waste your time or money here. I saw some very cute baby stuff while I was window shopping in Morro Bay and just HAD to go in to buy it! Upon stepping one foot inside, I was approached by a rude store employee who was only polite enough to pull the phone from her ear long enough to look me up and down, roll her eyes at my tattoos, and tell me I couldn't enter her store without a mask.. I get it COVID 19. Whatever. I was willing to go out and put my mask on. That is UNTIL three old, well dressed, white ladies walked in without masks and she happily greeted them and let them go about their shopping without being bothered. I happened to be eating lunch next door and noticed several other individuals enter the store and make purchases without masks during my stay. They were all "rich looking" white folk. I always pop in here when in Morro Bay. They've got the most adorable trinkets, signs, tchotchke's etc. and it's an excellent place to shop for Christmas ornaments. They have high quality, beautifully crafted ornaments around the holiday season with a beach flare that comes through in a lot of their items which I find very appealing. It's a quintessential, small tourist town gift shop. But I really like their execution. They've got good taste, not outrageous prices and are friendly. The store is also very well stocked with a variety of goods and changes pretty regularly. I come to the central coast quarterly and am always discovering new finds here. Think handmade soaps, cutesy signs and lots of girlie stuff; it's adorable. On this trip, my favorite discovery were their liquid handsoaps- some had little seashells in the bottom and the other had small pearls. A unique little extra touch that makes for a very interesting item and a good conversation starter. Would recommend stopping in if you're in town. read more

This is one of my favorite store when I come to Morro Bay. I purchased a Spartina crossbody a few years ago and a matching neck scarf a few weeks ago both great quality and made in the USA. Today I purchased earings and love them. The ladies that work there are always friendly and helpful. They carry quality fashionable handbags, clothing lines, shoes, accessories and gifts. Nice boutique with a sweet selection of gifts and clothes. A good variety of jewelry, hats, shoes, scarves, clothing and little somethings, such as soaps and lotions. Bought a great pair of earrings that were reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Enjoyed browsing, would definitely stop in again next time I'm in the area. Nice place with a good range of very comfortable clothing, gifts, shoes and hats. The staff was very sweet and friendly and the prices are very reasonable - plus the clothing was great for both a younger set and those of us a bit older (without being frumpy or too much synthetics). Came here in hopes to find some clothes suitable for the beach! We were very pleasantly surprised that this store had a lot of great, and cute finds! In addition to the awesome store, we were helped by the MOST AMAZING women!! They were so sweet to us and we had a large group of 6. As a business I understand the value of customer service. Your front line IS your business and yours is most unwelcoming. I have been here on a few occassions, as well as my wife and am constantly amazed at the lack of congeniality on behalf of the staff. It is almost as if customers bother them! The owner, Barb, and all of the women that work there are absolutely fantastic. They are super helpful burt not over baring.. I bought my future mother in law some gifts here that were a perfect combination of clothing and accessories.., even a lovely hand crafted bar of soap and a cute card. They gift wrapped it too. This boutique is one of the better ones on the Central Coast. It has a great supply of casual clothes for middle aged women and younger. They now carry some higher end brands like Johnny Was which is nice for our area. They also have an interesting gift section with jewelry and candles etc. Their shoe selection could be better but the space is limited. read more

I used to like this place in the past -however 2 ladies in their 50's-60's (who work there) arguing/bickering about budding in on each others sales-recked the experience! Not really a good vibe at all-negative-not professional and was petty. They must work on commission! I am a local and really try to buy things from local businesses. Poppy's is a dress shop in town with rather expensive items. Having said that, I have purchased several items from them in the last few months. Recently, I went in to find a top for a pair of pants. I was amazed at the selection of the brand called Angie's that they had on a rack. There were two other customers looking at these tops and the owner was busy talking to a man at the counter. I found two that I loved and I was busy looking for more pants when the owner came over and snatched the blouses out of my hand and said that these were her "samples" and that I could not have them. I was taken by surprised so I made a joke about it and suggested she order those two as I would buy them. She grunted. The salesman thanked me for the compliment but not the owner. Instead, the owner's sister suggested I come back in 6 WEEKS and I could buy one! The owner never said another word to me. I don't think the owner knows about customer service. I will not be buying from Poppy's. They also own Sole Mia.... read more
