After patiently waiting for almost 3 weeks to get my car back, and paying over 3000 dollars, I got the car back with an empty tank (I filled up my car the night before my husband dropped it off) and a warning light on the dashboard (which was supposed to "reset" with time). The car continued to have the same problems; and sure enough, the check engine light came on again the second time I drove it. This time I took the car to another mechanic with the receipt I had from Fillmore. That mechanic couldn't believe how bad of a job Fillmore Electric did and how much they charged me. He's not sure if they really did all that they said they did. Now I have to pay another couple of thousands of dollars and be without a car, again. We arrived at about 4:30pm (shop closes at 5pm). They advised we needed a new radiator. They scheduled us for first am the next morning. They patched us up so we could drive to a nearby hotel (walking distance). They made recommendations for hotels and restaurants. We were able to drop the vehicle off first thing in the morning. We walked back to the hotel until check out. There was a dog park about 3-4 blocks from the shop... and a starbucks. They had us back on the road that afternoon. While it's quite easy to get frustrated because of the unexpected cost of a repair and a hotel, they were great. The crew kept us updated on the timeline. Their fee's are in-line with what shops charge. They did not price gouge. When you are at the mercy of car repairs it is a fear. They have been the only place we've taken my wife's car for oil changes since we bought it. On my last oil change I was told that the threads on the oil plan were stripped and I needed to take it somewhere else to get it repaired. I didn't think much about it until today when I took the car to another shop for the suggested repairs. It is going to cost me $1,768 to get a new oil pan !!! The mechanic, which I have known for a very long time, said it was stripped and someone tried to fix it and just made it worse and unrepairable. I just called Randy's and they denied responsibility. I told them they were the only place that has ever done an oil change and it is impossible that they didn't cause the damage. The rest of the conversation went nowhere. I always try to support local businesses. But when they damage my car, cost me $1,768, and don't even consider taking responsibility, they have just lost a long time customer. I will be sure to let my friends and neighbors know about today's experience.
