You have to use the intercom outside and they will buzz you in. It's nice because there are no riff-raff hanging around outside, loitering around the cars or panhandling. She seemed to understand when I didn't want to talk anymore (I was doing some work on my phone), otherwise she was telling me about her life and asking about me. She washed my hair, then cut it to my desired length when wet, leaving it 1-2 inches shorter than I wanted. She then gave me some layers, added product, told me my funny curly spots were postpartum hair growth (my youngest is almost 6), that I should "give it a minute", slapped a Bobby pin in, told me it was cute and then got her phone so I could pay. A few months ago I checked out their work and loved the vibe I was seeing. I scheduled a consult with Kara and afterwards, I knew I had found my salon. It is small and woman owned, inclusive and honest. I wanted a big change and Kara made sure she knew exactly what I wanted and offered suggestions. I was so excited. The day of my cut and color came and Kara got to work. By the end, I felt like a new person. She gave me exactly what I wanted and I was beyond stoked. She explained what she was using for color, how it would take and how long it would need in between bookings. She guided me on how to style my new look and proper care. I'm a super novice with hair and this was amazing information. We immediately booked my next appointment to see how growth was and go from there. Since then I have religiously booked for the next session and actually keep up my maintenance. Kara is professional and honest and incredibly talented. An appointment with her is like hanging out and shooting the shit with an old friend. My boss was so impressed with Kara's work that she has booked an appointment and is going for a major change as well! Beth, the owner, is fabulous as well. I've seen her work on clients while I was in my appointments. She has collected a list of regular/repeat clients that know they will get quality care from her. It's pretty nice that they do salon and barber work. Their place is a small suite in a building with other businesses but inside is comfortable and welcoming. And Neville, the resident fluffy boy (Beth's doggo) is a sweet little mascot. If you want to feel heard and appreciate a great sense of humor and quality work, you need to check them out.
