My friend and I recently visited Burghers at their new location in the Southside (formally Sly Fox). First of all, I love this space in general because it's open, airy, and has great views of the city and the river. However, be warned that street parking can be tough. There is a parking garage in the building where Burghers is located. My friend and I both got burgers- I built my own and he ordered the 'Mexican War Street' burger which has cheddar, roasted chilies, tomato, cilantro, and special sauce. The burgers come with a generous side of fries. The food here is delicious. The burger is a good size and cooked great. The staff were friendly and helpful during our visit. I'll definitely be back again. This spot feels like a nice hangout spot!

Lovely spot, we popped in for beers he enjoyed a double bock. They didn't have any my style, and I super enjoyed this delicious bottle of raspberry tea- natural tasting! We will be back for burgers and more!

Perfect spot to take a load off your feet at an outdoor beer garden sipping on a cold German style smoked Helles beer and munching on some crispy thin cut fries sprinkled with rosemary? Tasty tasty and tasty! To make it even more epic I might order a thick smash burger

If you have a chance to try the Juicy Jess, I highly recommend it. Also don't sleep on the perogies and caramelized onions!! They were incredible. I got a seasonal sour and it was really good!! The staff was awesome and just having a good time.

Delicious burgers. If there's smash burgers on the menu I always get it. I really enjoyed the Oakland burger. The burger was cooked to perfection and all the flavors worked so well together. The fries were flavorful and crispy. Next time I want to try their side of pierogi's. They have a nice selections of beers as well. Great service and staff. One thing to note is the Southside location is really small so it's a bit tight when it's crowded. There is a parking lot right next to them though which make it super easy to park.

Liberty burger, regular fries & Hefeweizen

Love this new Burghers location! It's perfect after a long walk or bike ride along the river trails which is exactly when we decided to check it out. It's located at the front of the highline right on Carson street. Service was really fast and friendly. The inside is small, but bright and inviting. The tables inside are great for 1-2 people and custom designed to hold a beer or 2 in convenient cubby holes. The outdoor beer garden features longer tables for groups and nice coverage over each table. They have a window outside for ordering/picking up food and drinks if you choose to sit there. I had the liberty burger which was reminiscent of in-and-out. It was really tasty but I think they overdid the salt/seasoning on the burger patties a bit. The shoestring fries were excellent. We both had the Hefeweizen which was great. Stop by for a burger and a beer next time you hit the trail.

The food, service, and atmosphere are all 10/10. My favorite thing on the menu is probably the Polish hill burger. Pierogies fried to perfection are the best topper for an already killer burger. Definitely do not pass this place up!

    Proclamation fruited gose

These insane smash burgers & brews are a favorite of mine. Their pickles are always so crunchy & their burgers are delicious without being soaked in grease. Potato buns for the W! Their fries are also iconic I could eat by the handful. For beer, their Proclamation fruited gose was my fave with flavors of strawberry, banana & guava! Friendly folks at the order window & quick service while still being fresh. Outdoor seating is best here as the inside is very small and doesn't have traditional seating.

Great food & service!!! Limited indoor seating during cold days, but look forward to returning during summer for sure!

The bar serves cocktails, wines, beers, and mocktails. For dinner and late-night bites, the restaurant focuses mostly on small plates and shareables, including charcuterie, chicken wings, pizzetta, steak, and salmon. They also have a Sunday brunch that serves lox bagel, shrimp and grits, French toast, mimosa, bloody Mary, etcetera. My husband and I ate one lunch here. The best aspect of The Finch was its beautiful views of downtown Pittsburgh's skyscrapers, Monongahela River, and subway trains. The foods and drink were a mixture of quality, and my husband called them "garbage" (eek!). Here are my ratings for them. Berry Mint Spritz - 4 stars - This mocktail (I could have ordered it with alcohol to turn it into a cocktail) contained strawberries, mint, lemon, syrup, and soda water. All of the flavor had settled on the bottom of the glass, so I could have used a straw to mix the drink, but I did enjoy the flavors. Summer Crab Cakes - 2 stars - I received two crab cakes, and they were some of the worst crab cakes that I have ever received anywhere. They contained too much breading and too little meat. I did not even like the flavor of the cherry tomatoes on the side. I usually love crab cakes, but with these ones, I could take only a couple of bites, and then I had the waitress throw away the rest. Hawaiian Pizzetta - 4 stars - This small pizza consisted of four slices that had cheese but no gooey cheese-pull. Other toppings were BBQ sauce drizzle, pineapple, ham, and red pepper. I thought that it tasted good. Ember Steak Skewers - 4 stars - My husband said that the steak was not the highest quality. At least the chunks of steak, peppers, onions, and mushroom (we counted one piece of mushroom!) were marinated and seasoned nicely. The total cost for this one mocktail, three foods, and one soda was $79 *plus* a 3% credit-card surcharge, tax, and a minimum tip of 18%. We asked the waitress for a receipt, but she did not bring us one, so we walked up to her to ask for it again, and we did receive it.

I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.

The atmosphere alone is worth a visit. The drinks are definitely crafted with care and have a lot of complexity, but with only two bartenders working, it took quite a while to get ours. Not the place to go if you want quick service or are grabbing a drink before another event. My biggest downside is the price point--most cocktails are around $17. They're good, but at that price I can really only justify having one. Note: They do not have food, just snacks like peanuts. Overall, amazing ambiance and well-made drinks, just expect slower service and a higher bill.

Thankfully nothing is overly gory or too creepy. To avoid a line, it is best to go right at opening or about an hour before it closes. One thing is that they can (and often do) search your bag to make sure you don't steal the glassware. Sad that they need to so that, but I guess I understand why they need to check. I just expected a lot more based on all the rave reviews I heard. I think the biggest thing for me is that this seems to be a place that focuses on Instagramable opportunities, so a lot of thought has been put into having perfect photo opp spots and camera ready dishes. I wish some of that effort was put into making higher quality dishes. The service was great. Friendly and knowledgeable server (although the time I came on my own it seemed like it was something that never happens at this place based on the questions I got about being on my own). That in itself was off-putting. Plenty of people do things on their own. But for the price of the food (and the rave reviews) I was expecting to be blown away. And while the food was enjoyable, it wasn't anything that I was so excited about I would want to try again. Maybe I'll go back with a group and have a different experience.
