OK, let me share something with you. On Tuesday, the day after the Boston Marathon, my wife and I went to look at cars. We visited the Porsche dealership in Norwell early in the morning. When we arrived, the showroom was empty, so we walked around for a few minutes before a salesman approached us. He introduced himself as Matt and asked if we were being helped. Matt went through the usual questions to qualify us as serious buyers. I told him we were looking for a certified pre-owned Porsche Macan, preferably black with a black interior. He said he would check the inventory and see what was available. When he returned, he told us he had found a couple of options and would bring one around for us to see. He pulled the car up to the showroom, we looked it over, and then took a short test drive. On the way back, he suggested we stop by the pre-owned inventory lot to see if there was anything else we might like. Back at the showroom, Matt asked what I thought of the car. I told him I liked everything except the wheels. He said he had another car to show us that had the style of wheels I preferred and that he would bring it around in a few minutes. He came back shortly after with another car. This one had the wheels I liked, fewer miles, and the right price, but it was silver. We talked it over, and I decided, "I think this is the car. Let's do it." We went inside to start the paperwork. At that point, another salesman brought a different customer over to look at the same car we had just agreed to purchase. I asked Matt what was going on. He said it was a previous customer of his, but that he would find out more. We continued with the paperwork. His manager evaluated my trade-in, and they began putting together the numbers. Meanwhile, I noticed the other customer, who was white, still looking at the same car. For context, my wife is Chinese and I am of mixed race. Shortly after, Matt came back and said, "I'm sorry, they sold the car to the other man." I was stunned. I said, "How is that possible? We're sitting here working on the deal. Your manager has already given us numbers, and we've started the paperwork." The general manager, Rai, came in and said, "I'm sorry, this has never happened before." My wife responded, "That is the most racist thing I have ever seen." At that point, I said, "Let's go," and we left the dealership. As we were leaving, Matt said he would find another car for us and follow up. Three and a half months! That's how long they kept our car to fix a coolant problem. In addition, when they returned the car, a headlight had burned out and the radio no longer worked. They did agree to fix the headlight but said, "it was unfortunate that the radio stopped working but we aren't responsible." The next day after an oil service, the exhaust on my Cayenne Turbo with 36K miles started to make laud banging noise. I took it back to them to make sure it is not related to anything the have done. The service manager "Jason" told me the flap on the exhaust has gone bad and it the timing is unfortunate and coincidental. Jason charged me $250 diagnosis fee which he had not disclosed upfront. He was supposed to tell me it is not related to the work they have done, and it did not take a genius to visually look at the exhaust and say it is the flap (nothing was opened or taken apart for diagnosis). Another Porsche dealer told me the flap may have gone bad because the Porsche Norwell valet driver who delivered my car to my house may have pushed the engine too much and caused the problem!!! Customer service is abysmal!!! The first time I went in ready to buy. after waiting 45 min and being told someone would be right down. I finally just left. Went back today and spoke to Russell. Russelll did not know how to use features and seemed disinterested in my questions. We test drove. The license plate he gave us fell off. We test drove and loved the car. Had a couple quick questions and wanted to pull the trigger. He was too busy to inquire about our drive. Refer me to anyone else or sell me the car which I was ready to purchase and made that clear from get go. Since he was absorbed at his desk. I asked could u let me know if someone is looking to purchase. I want to come back TODAY -and do the best paperwork only leaving because HE DIDNT have the time right then. He said NO. I CANT DO THAT. I am never coming back to this dealership since I also saw lots of customers wandering aimlessly looking for someone to answer questions. This is the same experience I had the prior weekend. Unreal!!!! Zero stars is not an option so I guess they get one star. But it wasn't just my agent. It was the entire dealership that stunk. UPDATE. Recently bought a brand new Cayenne S and for options, choose the Porsche dash cam including the factory installed rear view mirror for the connection. 1) When I picked up the car, my phone could not connect via wireless to the dash cam. Salesman tried to fix it, could not, said he would research it and get back to me. He never did. 2) Brought it back at about 1,000 miles for a break in oil change WITH instructions to fix the dash cam connection. IT woman could not do it either while using YouTube videos to try to figure it out vs Porsche training. That said, I agreed to have it picked up the following week to repair the connectivity issue. 3) Car picked up and returned 2 days later and when the service department called to tell me it was on its way. I very specifically asked if it was repaired and did someone use their phone to connect? She replied "yes". 4) Tried to connect and guess what? NOOOOOOOOOT WORKING! Speaking to them, gentleman tried to blame it on "corporate", as in Germany.... Right now they are getting a 1 star. Careful bringing your car there for service. It's been about 7 months since I bought a CPO '13 911 sight unseen from Porsche Norwell. The negotiation and sale went fairly smooth and I arranged to have it shipped cross country. When I received the car, there were some noticeable scratches on the front bumper and driver side quarter panel that the Salesman did not mention to me over the phone. I got a decent deal on the car and it had PSE that was not on the listing so I rationalized that it balances out the cost. Within a week I noticed problems. The Front trunk switch did not work and Driver side window switch broke off. the car is CPO and my local dealer was able to fix everything. A month later the horn stopped working. While the tech had the bumper off he noticed the front differential was leaking. So within the first 2 months my car was in the shop for a month. If I didn't have the CPO warranty this could have been $8k+ in repairs. I asked for the multi point inspection checklist but Porsche Norwell ignored me. I found this dealer to be sneaky and does not care once the sale is completed. The car has been great after the repairs but buyer beware especially if you don't get a CPO. read more

Today, I wasted half a Sunday at this dealer on a phantom car. I emailed the day before about a used 2016 BMW 640, and was told to come in on Sunday to test drive it. The "internet manager" Tom Pepper emailed again this morning at 10 to say they'd be expecting me at noon, as per my request. I arrived, and no sales reps were on site yet. Finally a nice young man named Matt (I think) informed me that there had been a power outage yesterday and the safe where they keep all the keys to the vehicles had to be totally reprogrammed. OK, I'm thinking "Nature Happens". But then, after taking a solo test drive in a used Macan, not the car I went there for but tried for fun, I returned to find they still couldn't open the safe and had a tech support person trying, unsuccessfully, to walk them through the procedure by phone. The sales manager Muhammed seemed eager to dissuade me from the BMW saying it had insufficient rear leg room for my purposes and seemed to be steering me toward a Porsche. At this point, I'd spent well over an hour there, only to be told by Matt that we could drive to their other lot to at least look at the BMW even if we had no key to open it. We went, he looked but couldn't find the car. At this point I was thinking "This is not a good shop." Matt then called someone who told him the car I'd driven 70 miles to try wasn't there at all, and headed for auction. I smelled a rat, as this same car had been advertised at Boston Volvo just a day before- where I'd called, and was told "It's no longer available". I asked Matt if indeed this was the same vehicle, and he said yes, but that he had no idea why their store was sending it to auction. He told me they could get it back for me to try, but at this point, I am both pissed off about the ambiguities, driving 140 miles RT to see a car that wasn't there, and wondering why the Bimmer was being punted around local dealers only to be sent to auction.... esp. when they knew they had an interested party: me. Moral: Before driving to any showroom, speak to a real, live sales rep and tell them to confirm a) the car is there and send a photo to prove it b) they have the keys and c) they'll have it gassed up and ready for you at the appointed hour. Basic, no? I cannot recommend this store on the basis of this experience. Clearly they need new management. read more

The only reason I am giving 1 star is because of this iPad that is available for use in the waiting area. When I came in at 9:15am, I specifically asked about how long my service would take. I was told that it would take 4 hours, as it is a major service. Being that I live nearly an hour away, I decided to wait, as once my loaner car arrived, there was only 3.5 hours left on that 4 hr time window. After 3 1/2hrs, I called the dealership to check on the progress. I was told that they were half way done with the service, and that it would be another 2 hours! Well, if I had known that it would be a 6+ hr service, I could have gone home, gotten some work done, spent some time with my 2 year old before traveling tomorrow for work, and then come back later for the car. Instead I am still sitting here waiting.... When I expressed my frustration to the the Service Manager, Dennis Burke, I was met with an attitude as though I was unjustified in how I was feeling. He then walked away from me as I was speaking, and dismissed me with a wave of his hand over his shoulder. He came back a few minutes later and told me that they would get me out as soon as possible, but that they wouldn't be completing the service! So I waited the 4 hours that I was told the service would take, and then Dennis shared, with a sarcastic tone, that they won't replace the spark plugs because that would take an additional hour, and they just want to get me out of here... This has to be a joke... I saw a woman in the showroom taking pictures, and was hoping that it was actually candid camera... But no such luck! Dennis put on such a condescending and quietly combative attitude that I requested to speak to the General Manager. Well, guess what.... The General Manager was nowhere to be found, and I was told that I could call and try and track him down..... Really??? No thanks... If I have to try and "track down" a manager, it sends a clear message - either the staff don't want to share the story of a frustrated customer, or the manager and staff simply don't care. Either way, we won't be purchasing our new Cayenne GTS from Porsche of Norwell, nor will we be back for service, With so many other high end dealerships to choose from, Herb Chambers, Prime, etc, why go someplace where you are made to feel inferior, and a like jerk for relying on information from the management? Sorry, but I don't like spending $1,200+ for a service and being crapped on during the process! And by the way, that "major service?" An oil change and a set of plugs. Yup. 4+ hours for plugs and an oil change... Oh, and wiper blades. That must be what took the extra 2 hours. This is what Porsche thinks is acceptable?? Ugh. No thanks. - One update to this review... They claim that they did manage to somehow change the plugs in the end... In about 20 min... Even though Dennis so sarcastically shared that it would take the extra hour and half that I just didn't have to wait.... So should I be worried now? They did a supposed hour and a half job in 20 min? Did they really even change the plugs? This should a fun one to check into... Stay tuned!!! read more

In shopping for a specific vehicle across the country, I thought I had found exactly what I was looking for. After speaking with the sales representative at length and reviewing records, I left a deposit and scheduled a 3rd party inspection to ensure that there would be no surprises when my car arrived. When the inspector showed up, he was told that the dealership decided to sell the car to a local customer instead. In discussing with both the sales person and manager, I was told that they made a mistake but were not going to break the deal with the new customer. I found experience this to be extremely frustrating, but even more so unethical and discriminatory. read more

Caveat Emptor! Literally, in this case. First dealings with them, not exactly local for me, but my salesperson from my last purchase, who was excellent (thanks for everything, Jeff) is here now. I was fine with CPO car and price but wasn't happy with the trade (also a CPO vehicle), which I didn't have with me, so it's understandable. We had some work to still do. I agreed to leave a deposit to hold the car until I could return. Next thing I know, the Finance guy has run my credit card and is writing up the sale. I stopped him, said that wasn't what we were doing today, and then the big pressure sale tactics start. So I walked. The deal is dead, never signed anything. Now it's five days later and despite numerous attempts and promises, my deposit hasn't been returned and the dealership GM won't return my calls or texts. Do not EVER give this dealer cash or a check. Don't use a debit card. Fortunately, I am fully protected by having used a credit card. I shudder to think what would have happened if I had given them a personal check. Shame on you guys. Bad enough you allowed a repeat customer to walk because you Just. Didn't. Listen. Now you're going to try to keep my money, money that you didn't earn, that you aren't entitled to? read more

I have two cars from them - they are an absolute quality operation. Everyone there operates to the highest standards of integrity. When a local family lost everything to a fire, the dealership offered them use of a courtesy car indefinitely while they got their legs under them. Another time, just recently, we had some issues with the AC. We took the car in and they could replicate the issue no matter how hard they tried. At this point, any other dealer, any other make would have called you and delivered the vaguely patronizing 'now you're imagining things' lecture. But Dennis in Service decided to read up on it and saw that some of the issues we were experiencing were connected to a recent SW upgrade, and proceeded to change the climate control unit (under warranty of course). I fully recommend this place - not the biggest dealer and the largest stock, but after owning a lot of performance vehicles, I can assure you no others come close. read more
