A previous response incorrectly stated that repairs were completed the next day. Due to legitimate safety concerns about trusting the team responsible for the incident to perform the repairs, we took our vehicle to an independent body shop that was ready to begin work that same week. However, because of ongoing delays and lack of communication between Sullivan Tire and their insurer, Federated Insurance, we were without our car for over a month. Sullivan Tire's handling of this situation has been unacceptable. While their claims representative did reach out regarding lost income, they have refused to honor documented time lost from contracted work and have not covered out-of-pocket costs directly caused by their negligence. I brought my car to the Norwell location since a friend had always used Sullivan for his work trucks. I had an issue with my 2011 Nissan Murano ac. The first thing replaced was the condenser. After a few weeks dead again. They found a few more leaks. Next was the compressor. They indicated they would not charge for Labor for the compressor but the compressor was $900. Had no choice since my daughter needed it for school, couldn't find one for more than $400 when I looked into it. Brought it back 2 more times since, each time they found another leak. It is dead again. Never got documentation for all visits. read more

Over the years I have had three cars serviced with Sullivan Tire. I started with the Quincy Center location and now that I am in Weymouth and I use the Route 53 location. I am currently working in Hanover and I drive Route 53 daily. I have running boards on my Saturn and last Friday, as I am driving home, a bracket holding the passenger-side running board in place rusted off and I was dragging it under the car. Thankfully I was in Norwell and had just driven by the Norwell facility. I called them in a panic and, within ten minutes some one came to meet me, cut off the running board, and took it away. All I want to say is the Norwell Sullivan Tire personnel were my "knights in shining armor" and that, as a whole, I have always had excellent service and excellent experience with Sullivan Tire. read more

I came into the shop to check the temperature gauge on the radiator, to get an oil change, and also asked if they could check the dashboard as I was getting a hot temperature reading on the dashboard. The mechanic and the salesman told me they would check these things and let me know if there was an issue. After the oil was changed I was told the car was in good shape and there was no issues. I found the temperature gauge was reading hot on the dashboard and the same lights that came on that had me come in for a question was still on. In the next day, my car began to point to The very hot and then began to overheat steam coming out of the front of the car. I barely could drive the car home had to call JB auto care in Weymouth had my car towed through AAA because it was not drivable, then had to pay 1450 due to the fact that the radiator hose broke the temperature gauge was too hot as I explained to the text and nothing was done this cost me a lot of money and again I got an oil change from them which should have helped diagnose the problem before it became this big. I absolutely do not recommend you bring your car here for anything as you will not get any preemptive services, and if it is just what you've asked for and you had questions or concerns they will not be addressed here and your car may break down and cost you a lot more than the $53 oil change read more

I took my car in last weekend because my rear passenger tire was losing air. They told me both rear tires had to be replaced. Fine. I picked it up and now three different indicators are going off for the brakes and the brakes aren't working properly. It's legitimately scary to drive. I took it back in and they want $700+ to do a brake repair when I just had my brakes done last summer and they were absolutely fine when I went in! Are you kidding?? read more

This place is awesome! 6 months ago I got my water pump replaced at the dealership and a week later my car started making a loud squealing noise. I kept going back to the dealership asking them to find out what was wrong, and they'd charge me for something like a new belt and send me on my way...only for the squealing to come back a couple days later. I finally took my car to Sullivan Tire for a second opinion, and in no time they found the source of the issue: something they believed the dealership broke when replacing my water pump, which would cost thousands to fix. Rather than make a quick buck off me, Joe called me up to explain the issue. He took photo evidence and wrote up a report, recommending I go back to the dealership to get compensation. A week later the squealing is FINALLY gone and the dealer made all the repairs for free, all thanks to the guys at Sullivan Tire. I asked them to look at it but they said it would go off when I drive it. 200 miles later it's still on so there must be some problem with the tire pressure sensors on the new tires and I'm upset they didn't fix it in the first place. read more

Well I made a 3 o'clock appointment which the phone rep said was would give us an hour cushion for the tires to get here. When I showed up the tires were not here. An hour later my car is still outside. So much for my appointment. Anyway in the end I was here for a bit, and they knew it. They discounted my service bill at the end without my asking. One of my tires was losing air and I thought it had been a while since I had replaced them, so I figured I would have to replace all four. I went on the website and picked out the tires I wanted, added on an alignment and oil change. So I was looking at dropping about $900. Dropped the car off, got a ride to work. Then I got a phone call from the tech and he asked why I thought I needed new tires. I explained and he said, no, the tires were fine and he'd look at the one that was losing air to see if they could repair it. Called back and said, yep, we found a screw in the tire, repaired it, no new tires needs. Total bill $93 for the oil change, filters, battery check, etc. Very happy! read more

Don't bring your car here. I got a screw in my tire and they gladly told me to drop it off while I was at work and they should have it fixed by the end of the day. I dropped it off at 8 am and took the courtesy shuttle to work. They called and told me my tire was unrepairable and because my car was AWD and they couldn't find a match to my tire that I would need FOUR new tires all equaling out to about $700. I was very upset but trusted their judgement and said to do what they needed to do and they told me it'd be ready by 4. I get to the shop at 5 (where I notice my car is in the same spot I left it) and they said the car was still being worked on. A man came out apologizing saying they forgot to pick up my new tires so my car would not be done today. When I said I was upset because I was understood my car was being worked on all day they offered my a ride home to make up for it. I said to give my car back and I'd get an estimate somewhere else....good thing I did because the first shop I went to repaired it in 45 minutes for $30. My car is good as new. Moral of the story- don't take your car here unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars more than you need to for a car they probably didn't even try to fix. read more

Sullivan Tire emphasizes customer service and trustworthiness. The quality of their service is high. Not the cheapest mechanic around but better than the dealership by far. I have come back for all my car maintenance needs as they are much better than their nearby competitors (with which I've had terrible experiences). They have a shuttle service for the local area. I spent nearly $800 on new Goodyear tires with these guys. After 6000 miles, the front left started to split around the outer wall. When I returned to Sullivan in Norwell, they claimed it to be normal wear. After 25K Miles (over two years) of the 40K rating, my inspection station pointed out that all four tires had endured this splitting (in the rear on the inside where it was unseen). When Sullivan measured the tires, the rears in particular, were evenly worn at the tread. After talking to Goodyear, they claimed there was nothing they could do. It's great to see that a merchant and manufacturer DON'T HAVE TO stand behind their products. Shrug it off when you point out problems and then deny any satisfaction to the customer. Business must be good. From now on, it's Wilder Brothers in N. Scituate for me. I'm not really sure why I ever stopped going there, but I lived closer to Sullivan at the time and thought they were reputable. If you are contemplating using them, hope that there are never any problems, as Sullivan does not stand behind their products, nor does Goodyear for that matter. Glen Wilder (Wilder Brothers) mentioned that inappropriate storage has been known to cause these kinds of issues. This is a "hot topic" of discussion amongst tire merchants and well understood in the industry. Born-on dating is an issue as well, but these checked out OK in that regard. I guess Sullivan is not aware since they never mentioned it or ever offered any solution. For the record, I've never returned a thing in my life. Now I know why. read more

I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I purchased the "alignment for life" package for my vehicle and used it enough times that they now are making it difficult for me to get it aligned there... read more

My wife and I have patronized this Sullivan Tire location for many years for our Hondas. We have always received great service, which keeps us coming back. This week they really came thru in a major pinch when one of our sons had all the wheels stolen off his new car outside his apartment near Boston. They were able to deliver exact replacement wheels and tires a little over 24 hours from our first call, this after the Honda dealer that sold the car said it might take them up to a week. They conducted an inspection of the vehicle to make sure that it had not been damaged by having the rear end sitting on pavement. Jim, Jimmy, and Steve were patient and professional through the dozen or so phone calls that transpired from our original contact to the final resolution. Highly recommend this location and its staff. read more

Driving home on Friday night, I heard a noise in the back of the car. Saturday morning i took the car to Sullivan tire in Norwell. It turned out to be my drive train, not what I wanted to hear Jim perfectly managed my expectations in regard to cost and timing. It was way more than I woke up thinking I'd spend that day, yet totally happy with the service. They communicated with me during the day, picked me up when it was ready, and provided an exceptionally high level of customer service. I have a huge level of trust with these guys, they don't do unnecessary things, they get parts in a timely manner and I feel my family is safe in my car because of them. Took my '08 Grand Cherokee in about a month ago due to a flat tire. Asked to have the tire repaired or changed. They were unable to repair it, which is fine. Then they wanted to sell me 4 new tires because of the 4x4 Jeep, which I knew would be recommended. What I didn't like was that they tried to upsell me on everything. I simply asked if I could get the spare tire (which was the same make and model as the originals, with similar wear on the tread, it was an old tire from the last replacement) mounted on the rim and just get one new tire for the spare and I would buy new tires in the winter, cause I'm due for new snow tires. They were set on getting all 4. Told me I would fail my inspection in less than 6 months if I didnt replace all 4. So, I opted not to have the tire fixed, not to have the tire replaced and left with the problem I went in for unresolved. But that's not all. I asked them to simply look at my breaks because they would squeak OCCASIONALLY. I simply asked for an inspection. Thats what they did. They came out with this sheet of paper with a bunch of green yellow and red dots that they tried to use to convince me I needed all new breaks and rotors. What they didnt know was that the car was certified pre-owned and I had just bought it with new breaks and rotors less than 10,000 miles prior. I thought maybe the pads had some dirt and grim on them hence the squeaking. But when they told me I needed all new breaks and rotors and that it would cost over 800 dollars to do the job I knew something was up. I am originally from New York and on my next trip home I had our family mechanic look at the car. Low and behold, not a thing wrong with the breaks or rotors. According to a mechanic I have trusted for years they "looked brand new." Conclusion: Sullivan Tire is full of a bunch of up-selling corporate schmucks who are out to take your hard earned dollars. I would strongly advise you against taking your car in for service there. Better off with WIlder Bros as the other review states. May pay a little more but Glenn is very very fair and seems to be a trustworthy guy. I am certainly never going back to Sullivan. read more

Noticed a nail in our tire at 5pm and called Sullivan to see I they could help us out. They were scheduled to close at 5 however told us to bring the car down and they would take a look at it for us. Priced out tires all over the place, and it turned out that these guys are the closest full service outfit to home and started appts at 7 am which worked best for my schedule. Here's what happened: 1. I found a lower price on the tires I wanted and they matched it immediately, no questions. 2. I did not initially set up for alignment and I was offered the service and a coupon to bring the price down- I took the deal. 3. I was going to wait for the tires, and work from the free wifi there, which is sometimes a challenge as the rubber smell gets to me after a while in tire places. 4. They offered to take me anywhere close by in an in house shuttle. I asked if they could take me to Starbucks - a mile or so down the road - they said sure and took me there. 5. I got a call about an hour and a half later., to let me know the job was completed, and also that the shuttle was a bit busy and would be along to get me when they could- i told them not to worry about it, as I was not missing my workday by being on the wifi at Starbucks - so the additional wait time did not occur as a problem. 6. I picked up the car and paid. 7. I drove away on my new Goodyear Assurance Comfortred tires, in my newly aligned vehicle. The alignment was true. The tires are an amazing improvement over the thoroughly worn out Continentals that were on the car before (also very good - just a different ride especially after 65k miles of wear...) 8. Everyone I dealt with was very pleasant, which makes a difference. I usually find that spending almost a thousand bucks on a maintenance item first thing in the am doesn't leave me in the happiest frame of mind. Sullivan made the whole experience completely pleasant. Based on my experience, I will go nowhere else but this place for tire related needs. read more
