I have been having 3 generations of BMW's serviced here for years. Yesterday I took my X5 for a routine oil change. Scheduled at 9 am. I asked my service advisor how long it would take. He told me 1 to 1-1/2 hours. I informed my advisor this was great as I had an appointment at 11. At 10:45 I heard nothing. I went and asked my advisor the status. He went and checked. Said it would be another 15-20 minutes. This would make me late for my 11. They gave me a loaner(this was good). At 11:21 I received a text that my car was ready. 2 hours and 21 minutes for an oil change! Way too long. read more

Personally never had any issues at South Shore BMW. We have always purchased cars from this location & brought it here to service every time we needed an oil change or get something fixed. Relatively easy to schedule appts here for service & customer service is always great from all the times that I have brought the car here. Note: if you are a current BMW owner or if it has been totaled (within a year of totaling), you can get loyalty credit towards another BMW vehicle, or can get for a Mini Cooper! I visited BMW of Rockland on 02/10/2026 to look at a vehicle and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with the salesperson, Caren Stone - CLIENT ADVISOR Direct line: 781.347.5744. She was rude and unfriendly from the beginning. Instead of showing us the vehicle, she simply handed us the key and said, "It should be in the back, go look for it." She did not sit down with us to discuss anything and repeatedly said she would not provide any information. She mentioned that they were short-staffed and that we needed to be quick "if we were really going to buy." She never asked about our needs, preferences, or how we wanted to handle financing. Instead, she looked at me and said the payment would be $1,000 per month and that I would not be able to afford it. I found that comment extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Buying a car should be an exciting and welcoming experience, but we felt dismissed and judged. After I would not be able to afford it, I found that comment extremely unprofessional and disrespectful" especially when I have 15k cash in my purse for my down payment and she's talking to me like I'm poor! Her name fits the description best "Caren" she should be fired never will I step foot in that dealership again and I'll make sure to TELL EVERYONE about my horrible experience. TLDR: Michael was communicative and responsive and always did what it took to answer my questions (10/10 for Michael). This rest of this review is not intended for my sales person Michael but instead for Ira the finance manager. In all my years of entering a finance room, I have never experienced someone like Ira. In short, he fails to break down any numbers, tries to rush through the process with preset financing loan terms, uses absolute words when it comes to taking packages, lies about packages being done (ceramic coating) and it must be taken because undone. Lastly after you deny all the extras, he turns into rush mode and asks me "are you going to buy the car or not, I have to go home". After I suggest my own financing, he simply replies nope we don't use them, this is what we have. He also tells me I "have to" take my down payment and move it into first month early payment and finance the whole amount of the 2026 Bmw M3 Competition x-drive. This experience has been very disappointing because my family has been buying BMWs for 12 years now. We owned models like 2013 x5, 2016 550i msport, 2018 x5m, 2020 x3m and we currently own a M5 Touring & M3 Comp in the household. This experience alone is going to impact our decision making when it comes time to switch into another vehicle. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1. When it came time for financing, he failed to provide me with the available BMW finance options and breakdown of monthly payments. After I asked for interest rates, he finally tells me but skips over the loan terms. I present my Bank of America loan approval, and explain that I was advised that the next step would be to contact the authorized car dealer, of which BMW of Rockland is confirmed to be in-network. His curt response was, "I do not work for BoA. BMW Financial Services is the only option we work with." 2. He did not disclose any loan terms such as length & interest rate % therefore I had to ask him for it and that was when his attitude changed and asked me "Are you going to buy the car or not? I have to go home." I also asked him for the monthly payment difference for 6.49% (BMW Financial Services rate) versus 5.44% (BoA rate), so I can check with my budget, he says "$10 ONLY" without any additional calculations and hesitation but instead with a big attitude. Not only did he not disclose financial information, he provided false & misleading financial information when it came to loan comparison. 3. Has great attitude until after I do not take any add-ons, He tells me "whatever tactics you try at the other dealers will not work here" & "go tell corporate that" 4. He uses verbiage such as "have to" when it comes to add-ons (for example: ceramic coating, tire package, dent protection). After declining a few packages, he comes back with the fact that I have to take the ceramic coating because it has been applied to the car. He also claims that I have to finance my entire car and instead, use my cashier's check towards my first month payment. 5. After I asked about the credit card limit, he tells me BMW of Rockland has a $2,500 credit card limit, and says, "It's too late; he already submitted it." 6. After the deal was signed, he told me the other BMW dealers near me must not have "given me time of day" that's why I drove up from NYC to Rockland, Massachusetts. WORST SERVICE DEPARTMENT I thought bringing my car to the dealership for insurance repairs was the best option even though their labor rate is higher than most. WRONG CHOICE. They had my car for 5 weeks for what ended up being a 3-4 day repair. The communication was AWFUL. Calls and emails went unanswered, hollow promises made and the final straw was them promising to deliver the car to me because of my troubles and then leaving me stranded at my workplace with no vehicle to have to take an Uber home at 8pm at night. All this and not so much as a phone call from the service manager...not even once. So disappointing. I would have been better off taking it to a no name repair shop. read more

My car was in their dept for 4 days while they ordered " back ordered" tires and nvwre repaired a malfunction in a headlamp. I was offered a" free detail " for an apology and that never happened . I just wanted my headlamp repaired and tires replaced and rotated . NO communication at all and then a 25 min wait to drop off and get it back with no greeting or anyone at the desk to ask where my car was . Custimer service is missing from this dealership . The finance manager added gap insurance and extended warranty without my knowledge Switched my plate from my trade-in and told me I was good to go drove around without Insurance for a week and had to pay hundreds of dollars to my insurance company for having two vehicles registered for one month. I contacted General manager, after telling me he will look into adding warranty and gap onto my vehicle he will not return my phone calls. I set an appointment to look at a used vehicle on there lot and after test driving the vehicle and discussing pricing he was upset I was not financing through them . After leaving he called me and pulled a bully act and told me he was transferring the vehicle today knowing I wanted to purchase the vehicle . The service advisor and service manager failed to address the defected brake issue that was present and only got worse after purchase. ***Customer Beware*** Shame! Shame! Shame! As a silent minority, I hate writing bad reviews for businesses but this one really takes the cake with candles and sparklers on top! I went in on Saturday, Sept 26 at 8am that morning for an oil change and brake inspection and my service advisor was Matthew Egger. I sat down with Matt and discussed the services that were needed on my car. He stated the car has about 3,000 miles left before the next service but I wanted to get it done early since I do drive a lot now since the economy is slowly opening up. He stated the oil change is $150 which is normally cost competitive to other places but I had a physical coupon for $89.95 that was from their website. He stated it was ONLY valid on "older 6 cylinder models" but I own an 2020 BMW X3 that's a 4 cylinder and I showed him the coupon from their website on my iPhone. He reluctantly accepted the pricing but at this point how can you trust your car to someone who just lied to your face. Second, he asked if I still wanted them to look at my brakes. I said, No. At this point, how can I trust you with my brakes now? So basically, I had enough and wanted to leave. He asked if there's something wrong, and I was completely honest about this, stating that I was lied to and the entire service transaction, honesty, integrity of the dealership had been compromised. I understand how businesses work and they're trying to make money. I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth and I work hard to purchase my car. To think, all it took was their own coupon to completely destroy the trust and relationship. Overall, how can you lie, and try to rip someone off, especially in this covid19 pandemic? I guess "we are not in this together" and they're in for it for themselves. They'll probably kick people while they are down and take your money too since they're dishonest. Had 3 X5s over the years. Ever time I brought car in for maintenance, it was 1,000.oo+ for some odd repair. So when I bought most recent X5, I bought a maintenance package and oddly enough SSBMW never repaired anything extra during the years I brought X5 in for regular maintenance. 945 miles after the 75,000 mile warranty ended, magically I needed 6,000.oo worth of repairs. Poor form. Don't trust them as they have proven to be untrustworthy. read more

I have never written a bad reviews but feel it is important that people are aware of what happened to me. I purchased a 2018 BMW 230i Convertible in late February from South Shore BMW. I traded in my Honda Civic which required a payoff on to my previous car loan. BMW listed on my paperwork the payoff was $8074.74 but only paid Honda $7800.00. I was overcharged $274.74. I began calling South Shore BMW on March 23rd after confirming payoff from Honda and realizing there was an issue. I called and emailed our salesman, the Sales Manager and Finance Manager multiple times. Our Salesman was helpful but could not resolve the issue. It took many days for us to get a response from the Sales/Finance Managers. I was told the check would be sent out by EOB March 30th. On other follow up calls/texts I was told that the check would be sent the week of April 4th, The next week I was told check would be sent out the of April 10 and then told it would be sent the week of April 19th. Finally after weeks of frustration I called the General Manager. I had a check copy in my email 2 hours later. In this COVID world.. one of THE most important things is Customer Service.. return a call even if you don't have an answer.. a customer does not need to wait days to get a callback. My car is great... my issue is the lack of customer service and repeatedly have been given the runaround after my purchase. read more

Very good dealership with one major exception. I traded my 2018 Mercedes GLE yesterday for a new X5 & couldn't be happier with my decision. Like many car buyers... I really do my homework before making purchases, and for me it was between the Q7, a new GLE or the X5... the BMW was the best! It's the perfect blend of comfort & performance. There are several BMW dealerships that are within a short drive of Cape Cod, but South Shore BMW really won me over. Svet was my salesman and he was phenomenal from the first meeting to the last handshake. I was also blown away by Craig the sales manager. He was very friendly, "low key", no pressure & was willing to work with me on my trade. I really felt like he "stretched" as far as he could to give me the best price on my trade based on it's outstanding condition. My genius experience was also incredible! I've never had anyone take so much time to patiently explain all the features of my new car & encouraged me or my wife to call her, if we had any questions. Now for the exception - my experience with the F&I department was hands down the worst I have ever had. Now full disclosure when I suspect someone is trying to take advantage of me, I take offense to it & go from nice to pissed. Having done 6 car deals in the last 2 years I didn't appreciate the high pressure to add on packages at significant cost... not once, but repeatedly even after saying I was "all set." The biggest thing that upset me was the initial financing rate through BMW was much higher than I expected for someone with Tier 1 credit. I knew that it wasn't fair, but was made to feel like I hadn't kept up with what's going on with new car rates... oh really? I asked if the F&I manager could check rates at other banks & was told that this rate was the "best they could do." At that point I said I know you can do better, and if you don't, I'm done and I'll take my old car home... and just like that... I got a much better rate. I do my best to not leave bad reviews,but this is a must tell situation...I'll do my best to give praise where it is due. First, I'll begin with some backround. I have a 535i that just turned its 50,000 mile mark..so I brought the car in to be checked out...for the most part everything came back excellent,except that I had an oil leak at the oil pan that needed to be taken care of..its a huge job in terms of labor, I bit the bullet and had the work done..also I decided to replace the battery and do a complete detail of the car. The cost was higher then I expected at a cost of $5,268 but I was confident the work would be done right. Through the maintenance time the communication with Frank in the service department was excellent,he kept me up to date and the work was done quickly for the size of the job. A few days later I picked the car up, only to see damage to my front bumper,driver side front fender and chunks missing out of my driver side front wheel.. I was furious,to say the least, as anyone would be..I composed myself and talked to Frank. Again,Frank was excellent,he was on top of it quickly and got me back in to have the bumper,fender and wheel "replaced" a few days later. I headed home only to find the air conditioner wasnt working??so again,I called Frank to let him know and again,he was on top of it. The detail cleaning of the inside of the car was excellent! She was brand new again with the seats conditioned,carpets to roof were cleaned up to near perfection....its a great option to do while you're there. After I dropped the car back off to be fixed I decided to reach out to Avery,the GM. so that I could explain to him that I would like everything new,replaced to original condition. He told me he would dig around to see what happened because he was unaware any of this had happened.he said he would get back to me ASAP.... still to this day he hasnt called or returned a call. The wheel wasnt replaced, it was refurbished,the bumper wasnt replaced, it was sanded and resprayed,the fender wasnt replaced it was sanded,sealed,sprayed...and might I add,the paint matching and blending are TERRIBLE. The original color is 'Alpine white' to me it looks like they tried to use some basic white and blend it into the factory color..again HORRIBLE!!! the bumper to wheel well does not match. Clearly I was not taken seriously by Avery, and that's the general manager? He dropped the ball on this...he should have been on top of this to make sure I was given back the car in original condition...NEVER should a customer pick up their vehicle damaged..and add insult to injury..not only do you have ZERO communication with me,but you allow me to recieve the car in a condition I insisted to not be allowed! I had a damaged Bridgestone run flat tire that needed to be replaced. Towed vehicle to their service department and later received a call saying the other three tires also needed to be replaced because of wear. The tires are less than 18 months old with about 23k miles of use. After I did research I determined they were overcharging me for the tire by approximately $70 per tire. As a result, I towed the vehicle to Norwood BMW. I had the one tire replaced at the same cost that Firestone and Sullivan Tire were advertising. Norwood BMW said the tread on the other three tires were fine and only had to pay to replace the one that was damaged. Stay away from this place. read more

If you're buying a pre-owned car, I'd suggest an abundance of caution in your dealings with Prime/South Shore BMW, because they use the term "certified" in what I consider a deceptive way. I found a "certified" Mercedes on the website of Prime's Westwood Mercedes dealership. I called to schedule a test drive. They told me the car was at their South Shore BMW dealership. So I called that BMW dealership in Rockland to schedule a test drive. When I saw the Mercedes at South Shore BMW it had a "Certified" sticker on the windshield. I reached a price with the salesman, shook hands, and waited while they processed paperwork. When I sat down to sign the paperwork they tried to sell me a warranty for $5000. It turns out that despite Prime's Mercedes website listing the vehicle as "certified" and the "certified" sticker on the vehicles windshield, they were only warranting the vehicle for 90 days. In my opinion that's a deceptive business practice. You can form your own opinion. That's why I wrote this review. read more

I made an appointment to have my BMW oil change done and had confirmed my prepaid oil change warranty with the service scheduling staff. I showed up for the appointment and was told that my oils change was not called for by the vehicle and I explained to the service adviser that my car hadn't had an oil change over a year due to my limited driving. The adviser passed me over to his colleague next to him and again aggressively told me that they're not changing the oil because the car isn't calling for it. I again explained to them that I had the prepaid warranty that i purchased from another Boston BMW dealer and was told the oil changes are covered unlimited mileage and every 12 months whichever comes first. They then told me that they had no records of my oil change warranty and that I needed to show them the receipt of my last oil change! Then they passed me to their service manager Steve who was utterly despicable in the way he alleged that I was abusing the warranty and that I can't be walking in to get my oil change everyday, which was absurd as I explained to him that I have not had my oil changed in over a year. He continued to be dismissive and told me he needed to get on a call with the sales manager and told me to call BMW warranty because I paid BMW for the warranty and not the dealership. I then called the Boston BMW dealership and they confirmed that my car and warranty are valid and got me in and did the oil change by end of the day. I filed a formal complaint with BMW corporate and contacted the Southshore BMW general manager Tom and of course got voicemail but nonetheless left a message detailing the horrid interaction with the three service persons. Brought my 2016 BMW X5 due to some hesitation when accelerating, I got a call from Brett the service advisor, who proceeded to ask if I wanted the good news or the bad news, then he said oh wait there is no good news, your car needs a $6400 transfer case. I replied to not do the repair and picked up my car. When I picked up my car. two of my rear tires were severely low, I had them filled to correct tire pressure, and my car no longer has an issue. I am astonished by what happened to me today. I found a BMW 4-series on their website and negotiated a price in writing (email). Per their instruction, I used their online tool to assess my trade-in. I informed the dealership that my trade-in (a 20-year-old BMW 325i) was of very low value, and I attached photos of all of the vehicle's problems, using their tools. They allotted me $1400 for my vehicle; we agreed on an "out-the-door price" on the new vehicle; I obtained a bank check for the purchase; I took the day off from work; I drove up there to purchase the car. Upon arrival, I was told my trade-in had "a lot of problems" (you mean, "the ones I told you about?"), which was clearly a bait and switch to squeeze more $ out of me, after agreeing to a price in writing. Sure, let's torpedo a $33k car sale in December before a recession with a cash-paying customer, over a few hundred bucks. Absolute bush league. Update: Shortly after posting my review, the manager replied and offered to accept the deal as originally structured, but he also elected to mischaracterize how I presented my trade-in (tacitly impugning my integrity in the process). I presented my trade-in using the dealership's online trade-in interface, with photos, and a VERY transparent written description of the problems of the car. So, let me get this straight: Evidently, it's MY fault, but you're willing to take the deal now. No, thank you. I closed last week on a different vehicle at a different dealership. Like most dealerships this place is made up of mostly middle aged people who couldnt succeed at anything else in life. When they couldnt pass their real estate test they figured they would work at SS BMW and at least be able to drive a vehicle worth over 35k every now and again. Took my BMW in for an oil change and they immediately started with the sleezy up selling. When I refused to submit, they just tacked on another $200.00 to my oil change bill. The interior of my vehicle smelled like Marijuana and I found a scratch on the passengers side door. Disaster...I wouldnt bring my lawn mower to South Shore BMW for service. STAY AWAY! read more

They lost my key fob and refused to compensate!!! Won't go back for services anymore and getting our second BMW (X4M) from them. Got a flat tire last week and had AAA to tow my car for 4 new run flat tires. Left my 1st key fob in the cup holder and gave my 2nd one to the AAA truck driver. Picked up the car on June 22 and realized that they didn't return my 2nd key fob. After so many conversations, they kept denying the fact that they lost my 2nd key fob. We have a very good relationship until now. I like the sales manager, Craig Hopkins, and the Service Advisors, Brett Quinn and Meghan Gauthier. They've provided great services and excellent shopping experience. It is too bad that I won't go back there again. read more

SO glad I stopped in here on a rainy week day afternoon. I was greeted by Ed in the parking lot and told him about my current lease coming up on my x1. I made an appointment a day later and met with Fotios to discuss options for jumping up to an X3 lease. This dealership actually listened to what I was looking for and didn't just throw one vehicle option at me. They heard what colors I liked and what options were important and selected a vehicle that was absolutely perfect for me. Went here on a Tuesday to look at an X6, saw one I liked and talked to a salesman. Told I would not be able to get a best price on it until Thursday because the manager was too busy in meetings, never received one. This dealership is obviously too busy and doing well so I would suggest going somewhere else where they value your potential business. A waste of my time to go here, very disappointed. read more
