Real locals bar. Pool tables and some gaming machines. Live bands on the weekends. Outside bar and plenty of parking. Friendliest bartenders in town, especially Brittany. NFL ticket on several televisions. Kid friendly during the day for sure. Breakfast on the menu all day and night. New cook in the kitchen if you haven't been there in a while, he's creating new specials every day. Came for a drink with a friend and decided to get onion rings too. No lime wedges in the joint? Bah. Mixed drink was awful. Onion rings were fine, waitress/bartender that night was nice. HOWEVER. My place is across the street from this bar. In 6 months, there haven't been any noise problems, even during bike week Daytona (I'm shocked). Tonight, a Thrusday at 10pm, the bass was so *loud* I could hear it inside my building. Not cool. Some of us need to work in the mornings for a living. Could be the particular band's equipment, I get it. I called over and politely explained the situation to the employee who answered the phone. He told me he couldn't and wouldn't do anything. He offered to get his boss. As he was explaining the problem to the boss, I could clearly hear him say I was some bitch complaining about the noise. I could care less what you call me. But a derogatory remark based on my gender when zoning codes clearly state I'm in the right? And the fact that nothing was really done about the noise? Next time, I call the police. If that's how you treat your customers on the phone, I wouldn't trust anything you actually served me to consume. Jerk. read more

Some people are invisible! Stopped in to get a hot dog and have a few beers. It was very loud but not that busy, I sat at the bar. Waitress finally stopped and asked what I wanted and told her a hot dog and Miller Lite, she ask if I wanted fries and I said yes. Well after watching her serve 6 or 8 other people beers I finally ask if I was going to get my beer! She ask me what it was and I told her. SO I waited for my hot dog and watched 3 other people order food after me, 15 min. later when their food came and I still had no food I ask what I owed and paid for the ONE beer and left. Heard about this place on what's happening in Daytona talking about their giant pork tenderloin ...went in this week and Judy was fantastic! This is a small local biker bar, nothing fancy so if you don't like this kind of place don't go..too bad for you. I'm comfortable in a 5 star restaurant or a dive, people in the dives are typically friendlier! Anyway the tenderloin is to die for! I am a local, and with a bunch of friends, for years was a customer of the Port Hole back when it was a friendly, all-welcoming, fun place to go and hang out. Since its reopening and "makeover," I have seen and heard nothing of the place we knew. No one I talk to has anything good to say about it. The people are rude, the bartenders are meddlers, the drinks aren't that good, and I have personally experienced these issues. Now they don't care about the locals. There are many reports and complaints about inconsiderate noise late at night (that go unanswered), the food USED to be good, and they even stoop so low as to call the cops on their patrons as soon as they leave after serving them. If they actually cared about their community and patrons, they would be more considerate of the residents' noise complaints, and help their customers by offering to call a cab or friend, or even Uber, instead of just arguing with them, then calling the police as soon as they drive away. That's just bad business. I'm not sure how it lost its way, but damn is it way gone. I will never step foot in the Shit Hole again. read more

Came back for the Bonkerz comedy show. Very limited menu and not appealing at all. I asked if they'd cook the hamburger medium. The burgers are precooked. OMG you're kidding me right We are a party of 12, professionals and local business owners among us. We had to give them a credit card to hold. Really‼ I've never had to do that anywhere in town. Can't comment on the food yet but not impressed so far. WONT BE BACK I can now comment on the food. Terrible‼ Hope the comedy show makes up for it. Not sure what to expect but wanted to give them a try. So glad we did! Been to the Porthole under previous mgmt too many times to count. What a wonderful improvement. The place is open, airy and CLEAN! Bathroom is clean which is very important. I had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was fabulous. Not the least bit greasy. The potatoes were good, a little lumpy and the gravy was delicious. My husband had the philly cheese steak which he said was very good and he's picky. They have two rooms. One smoking one not. We don't smoke so.... my only complaint was they didn't have Pinot Grigio only Chardonnay. Will definitely be back! read more
