Onion rings
Signing M.

I really wanted to like this place on my first visit. My grandfather came here regularly and knew the original owners (from the same village in Greece). But how could I when this is what I got? Burned onion rings (although probably good if not burned) and a Texas hot dog that barely had sauce and was completely sad looking. There were only two other tables of people there when we went post lunch hour on a Tuesday. So being busy wasn't an excuse. I didn't feel confident in the cleanliness of the place either. And charged extra if using a credit card. We might try again if we visit the area again. But they have some work at convincing me next time.

This is worth the less than 2 miles off the highway. The map took us through a a bit of rough part of town. The interior is old school booths and stool countertops. Very clean. Waitress was very nice. Menu was short and sweet. Burgers and dogs. Fries, o rings, milkshakes. We had it all and it was fresh and cooked well. Fries are coated crispy. Burgers are real beef, cheese, bacon, etc. if you opt for everything....it is just the burger and a "Texas" sauce.....which is thin chili with lots of onions. VERY TASTY! Had a float....real ice cream and no skimping! We left full and happy. Thank you! Yelp put a 10% off check in coupon for this business with out telling them. They honored it with no issue. Boo Yelp!!!

I have passed by this place for almost five years and figured if it still open, must be okay, First off, I had to use the restroom and wash my hands, it was clean and stocked with tissue, soap and towels which is a big plus. You sit in a booth and the gal comes and takes your order. She brings you the drinks quickly. The menu is very basic and don't come to Texas Lunch if you are on a diet, no salads on the menu. We ordered the cheese steaks which are served on hot dog buns and they were very tasty. The sweet potato fries were excellent and the onion rings were very good. The dining room was almost full with people on a Friday afternoon.

So we ordered lunch, the hotdogs were on the table lightning fast, drinks followed like a thunderclap. Yes this was a rainy day, so sitting out back was a pass. Burgers with fries went to onion rings, five orders of wonderful, crunchy, sweet, light delights. Always double your order, it is worth every bite.

The napkin holders were covered in dust and ketchup. I am a long time customer who is back in town for a week. I won't be going back there

((Full disclosure it does get sweltering hot as it's right in the sun around 2/3pm)). The service was perfect and the food/drinks were delicious. I had the hotdog (low-key delicious), and hubby had the Signature Burger (devoured the entire thing!). We also shared baskets of regular fries and Chipotle Cheese Fries. Let me tell you -- these fries are DELISH to begin with. Reminds me of the Boardwalk (IYKYK), and then it's topped with more wonderfully flavorful toppings?!? Sign. Me. Up. ((Quick nod to the antiques in the bathrooms - the mirrors are gorgeous!!)) We will definitely be back!

I ordered a flight that included a Hef (slightly more bitter than expected), a Rye IPA (exquisitely balanced), a Munich Dunkle (nicely toasted in aroma and flavor), and the Imperial Stout (big chocolate and roasted but body thinned as the beer warmed). The stellar service continued when we ordered food. My wife had the stuffed grape leaves which were surprisingly tasty and I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich which was delectable. Highly recommended.

We've been talking about visiting Fogwood & Fig for years. At first, we thought it was…read morepredominantly a dessert place based on their social media posts. But the more we looked into the menu, the more excited we became. I would say their specialty is burgers and sandwiches. Virtually every ingredient is made from scratch daily (except the sourdough bread, from a local farm), including impressive items like multiple types of burger patty and cheesy cashew sauce. We were so excited about their food that we went three days in a row! Day 1: The Fogwood smoky burger was outstanding. The BLT was also delicious; we loved the smoke salted tofu. For a lighter option, we got the sunshine curry quinoa chickpea bowl. It was healthy and nutritious, although I felt the flavor profile was a bit off; it was heavy on the curry powder and weirdly sweet. The side of mac and cheese was GREAT. We loved the sauce made from sweet potatoes, carrots, and cashews (I think it was oil-free). Not heavy or creamy, just flavorful and good! For dessert, we got the lavender almond cupcake which we LOVED. It was gluten-free, although you wouldn't guess it. It had a perfect fluffy texture and great nuanced flavor. We loved that it wasn't made with coconut oil (just olive oil). Truly special. The vast majority of their desserts (as well as their homemade cheeses) do contain coconut oil. Day 2: The patty melt sandwich was a big hit. Incredible flavor. The Levi Reuben served over greens (instead of on bread) was also delicious. We loved the fennel sage patty and the homemade sauerkraut. We got the kids' PB&J as a snack which was SO good with homemade peanut butter and homemade raspberry jam. Very impressive. Lastly, we couldn't resist getting the signature Snickers-inspired bar, which was so good it should be illegal. Day 3: We were excited to try their daily special, the teriyaki chili rice bowl, made with homemade ginger tofu patties. It was delicious, although it could have used some greens. We tried two more of their burgers to explore the menu further, the flirty burger and the teriyaki burger, and both were great. A devastating disappointment came when, even though we walked in within 10 minutes of their opening, they had already sold out of the special dessert advertised on their Instagram, the carrot spice cupcake with pecan glaze, the only dessert they had that was coconut-free. It seems like they inexplicably only make 4-6 cupcakes per day and then don't make more even if they sell out?! (Who does that??) Overall, we loved the food and are so glad they exist. Major props for making so many things from scratch. We really appreciated how nothing was fried or greasy, really hard to find these days. They also deserve special mention for having top-notch service. All the employees were so kind and accommodating, and every dish came out quickly and made to perfection. The vibe of the restaurant is really peaceful and would be an equally good spot to have a quick meal or to linger all day.
